"Celebrating my husband's birthday we went straight for mains, my sirloin steak was cooked medium rare to perfection with lovely chunky chips, crispy onion rings and a zesty rocket cucumber salad. My husband was full of praise for his mixed grill, a great selection of meat (steak cooked just to his liking) and not too big. Dessert for me was Bramley apple pie however it wasn't what I was expecting. A lovely thin, light almost floppy pastry case filled with apples and slightly crispy on top. Not wanting the coconut vanilla ice cream that came with it, I swapped for plain vanilla. It was delicious. Lovely, friendly, attentive staff but not over the top with a good selection of drinks. We will definitely be returning..."

The food at this restaurant is fantastic and the service is amazing! The menu is a bit small, but it has all the essentials along with some unique specials. We tried the chicken liver pate to start and the cod and chips for our main course. These dishes were far from ordinary, with perfectly cooked fish served promptly and hot. However, the highlight of our dining experience at The Ship Inn was the excellent service provided by our young waiter Harry. He was fast, efficient, and friendly. Great job, young man!
