We were made really welcome and the dog was made a fuss of on several occasions. The starter and main meals were excellent and we were to full to have a sweet. Staff friendly and checked everything OK but not overly in your face Will go back

We were staying at the nearby So lodges for the weekend, and this pub was a convenient walk away. Varied menu and lovely hot fresh food, at reasonable prices. So good we visited again for Sunday lunch! Very friendly staff too, would definitely recommend

Perfect! We had a celebratory Golden Wedding Anniversary lunch today at this delightful country inn. Excellent menu with great specials, beautifully presented dishes and attentive staff. They also have quiz nights and lots of varied events it’s a real hub in the village community of Hambleton View menu

We tried the shovels for the first time, I have to say the food served was very good and prices reasonable, the reception that we received and also Bailey or staffy was second to none. We were made to feel welcome and at home from the moment we walked in. Our dog was brought a dish of water and also biscuit treats. We will definitely be back, thank you

Had lunch here before visiting The Conifers Nursing Home. It was quite busy and it had a nice atmosphere. We decided on fish and chips which was outstanding and a Timothy Taylor steak pie with chunky chips which was also excellent I personally felt it was let down by ordinary garden peas instead of mushy or minted peas. Having said that I certainly would visit again.

Our visit to The Shovels Inn near Fleetwood was an extraordinary culinary experience. Whilst Mo enjoyed the fresh Fleetwood fish and chunky chips, reminiscent of seaside charm, the rest of us tucked into the many other delectable menu options. But the standout was undoubtedly the cheesecake, which Chris savoured with such delight that Joe, could only watch with growing envy. As Chris took each delectable bite of the cheesecake, it was as if the lyrics of Jealous Guy by John Lennon played in Joe 's mind, capturing the depth of his longing for a taste. On entering looks a lovely pub, ordered drinks at the bar and was asked if we were eating, replied yes and got shown a table to sit at. Menus were brought to us to ponder, having sat there waiting for the waitresses return to ask us what we were eating , we had to ask at the bar if we were to order there, replied no I will get someone to you. Waitress came back and took our order off fish and chips in beer batter with homemade tarter sauce and sausage and mash , an extra of beer battered onion rings. On waiting over 40 mins for the food not that busy the batter on the fish inedible, beer battered onion rings not at all. Sausage and mash fine. Told the waitress about the fish and when paying...

This pub is absolutely the heart of the community. We met some friends there for lunch who live nearby. Staff are super friendly and very attentive. I noticed that everybody that came through the doors were acknowledged and the staff were very welcoming to everyone. Checking how the food was, were we ok for drinks etc. The food was very nice, I had the soup then gammon. Both very hot and freshly made. Sunday roasts looked amazing! Posters up advising of all the activities they host. Shame we don’t live closer! Dog friendly in parts, certain areas they can’t go. Big car park and beer garden. Great choice on the menu, and a specials board. (Only after 5 on a Sunday but every other day all day)... View menu
