"We are not from Leicester and were in search of a place to grab a drink and a snack. Despite not being vegetarian or vegan, we were drawn to a bakery that looked very inviting. They offered a great variety of teas, served in pots with leaves. While admiring the delicious buns, we were tempted by their lunch menu. The selection was so tempting that we ended up ordering sweetcorn fritters with halloumi and an avocado bagel. The staff was very accommodating when we mentioned our allergies. Both dishes turned out to be absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full to try the buns."

We went for tea and cupcakes this afternoon. Lovely to drink out of china cups and the cupcakes were delicious. Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere.

I enquired about Afternoon Tea for my wife’s 40th Birthday. I cannot recommend this Bakery enough. Excellent service, lovely food and extremely generous portions. Bakery also offered a delivery service. Look forward to visiting again

My friend and I had a delightful afternoon tea at Skylark for £20 each, which was quite affordable. The tea, sandwiches, and scones were all delicious and we were so full that we had to take our cakes home. We can't wait to visit again in the future. View menu

Me and my partner go here as often as our waistlines allow, the cupcakes are to die for and we have taken as many people as we can to the afternoon tea, it is a truly a homely bakery, the staff are super friendly and it is just terrific, I cannot speak too highly of this establishment, it's a true gem

Found this cafe one day when looking for a place to lunch with my friend.. we loved everything about it and accidentally left with a box of amazing cupcakes.. After a second trip yesterday, I’m planning on booking for friends to have afternoon tea.. The food is exceptionally fresh as home baked and super tasty.. would very highly recommend a visit.. I love it!!

I have been to Skylark on a number of occasions and had to try the afternoon tea... it's all presented so well with beautiful china, and the afternoon twa stands are mouthwatering. The portions for the price are such good value and the food is fresh and delicious. We had excellent service from the staff. It was a real treat and a lovely way to catch up with my friends. Cannot recommend highly enough. View menu

I didn’t notice that their sign said they were closing early, after I accidentally fumbled with the door. I felt so bad and so embarrassed, and started to walk away, apologizing profusely- they invited me in with smiles and some of the warmest welcomes I’ve ever received, and let me purchase a cake for my friend from the back. Their kindness is just as good as their baked goods!! So excited to go back (during the correct times this time! !

I used to live around the corner to Skylark and have been visiting since they first opened. The quality of their cakes are second to none and I love the range of flavours on offer (always varies and usually includes vegan and gluten free options) My wife and I enjoy the quality of the baking so much that Wendy made our wedding cake too and she was very thorough and helped us immensely in the design and flavours for each tier. In addition we thoroughly enjoy their savoury offerings and their coffee is delicious too.

"Went here last night at the tail end of an office Christmas party and we stumbled (quite literally inside having been turned away at a restaurant next door. It was past closing though their OPEN sign was still on. Anyway! Although Oppa was just about to close, they took us in, a group of 6, and stayed open until we finished. When I realized we were in a Korean restaurant, I was so excited; I've been searching for a good Korean restaurant in the midlands. My colleagues were much less so as they had never had Korean food and were unfamiliar with everything on the menu. I ordered for everyone and despite some of them being difficult one colleague kept asking for samosas, aah! the service was faultless. Staff were super attentive and helpful, patient, friendly, good fun, and extremely accommodating. Just perfect! And they stayed open for us quite late without rushing us out, what more can you ask for? Ok, so the food. It was SO so good and I'm already planning to go back. The kimchi was bang on how I like (a big deciding factor for me strongly fermented/pickled and spicy, and fresh. All the bulgogi (marinated meat , dolsot bibimbap (sizzling rice bowl , jjigae (stew/ramen style soups , seafood and extras that were served tasted just like I had hoped they would. Presentation was great everything looked properly appetizing and vegetables and seafood, etc were all clean and fresh. I was too busy stuffing my face and enjoying the moment and company to take photos, but the few photos I've seen on here are true to life. Other things people might be interested in: This restaurant is kitted out to cook Korean BBQ at/in/on your table. It is spacious, with lots of tables and room to move around. Decor is tasteful and minimal. It is clean and indeed I was warned by staff when going upstairs to the ladies' to be careful as the stairs and the toilets had all just been cleaned (and clean they were! . If you're looking for good Korean food, look no further. If you're looking to try Korean food for the first time, this is a great place to start. Go for it! Might see you there, if I can help it :D [I've copied this review over from where I originally posted it because this listing and the one for OPPA in Leicester are the same exact restaurant, FYI]"
