"I had heard great things about this restaurant and my partner had visited before and had a positive experience. So, I decided to take her there for a birthday breakfast on Sunday, October 15th, 2023. When we arrived, we were initially told there were no tables available, but another staff member informed us that there was room in the outdoor tent-like facility. Once we were seated, we were told that we only had the table until 12:30. We didn't mind since we were only having breakfast and it was around 11:15 at that time. However, we waited 25 minutes without anyone taking our drinks order, and noticed that other tables were experiencing similar delays. Our table was dirty and a more experienced staff member was questioning a young waitress about why the tables were not cleaned. The waitress said she didn't have a cloth, so she didn't clean them. We ordered our food and drinks to avoid further waiting as our table was needed at 12:30. We asked for extra bacon and feta with one of the dishes, but it didn't arrive. When we brought this up to the waitress, she seemed confused and walked away without explanation. We had three dishes ordered, all of which were now cold on the table. I spoke to another waitress in the main building and explained the situation. She apologized and said the extras were being cooked. However, when the extras finally arrived, the rest of the meal was cold and inedible. The additional dish of bacon and feta finally came, and the other meals were taken away to be reheated. At the end of the meal, we were told the cost of the extra ingredients would be removed from our bill, but when we checked, we had been charged for everything. The waitress seemed panicked and unsure of what to do when we pointed this out. We ended up paying the total bill and leaving. This experience was disappointing and frustrating. I have worked in hospitality for over 10 years and understand the challenges in the industry. It was clear that the young waitress needed more training and mentoring before being left to manage tables on her own. This experience has deterred me from returning in the future."

Our steak and chicken in our meals were both sightly overcooked...but it didn't spoil the meal ..very lovely..and the waitress came to apologise for our wait as they were busy serving a large table of guests.

We’ve visited here many times now and it’s a great place for breakfast. Good hot coffees served with non gf Croque Madame and gluten free avocado and eggs on toast with side order of bacon. Won’t be long before we’re back.

I just left the Twisted Tree restaurant after a delicious three-course meal. The tacos were amazing and the chocolate orange chews ale was heavenly. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Thank you, we will definitely be returning. View menu

Another delightful trip to Twisted Tree. Fabulous tasty croustini as part of our afternoon teas, we couldn't decide which I liked best. There were lots of cakes, huge scones and delicious brownies. Staff were pleasant and helpful even though it was busy. A great afternoon out with our friends. 7 pf use all served at the same time, perfect. Of course we'll be back .

Reasonably priced, great portion size. It's been very busy both times we have gone definitely worth booking in advance. We had a look at the afternoon tea, and that looked brilliant although didn't try it. Steak sandwich fell apart pretty quickly the bread was delicious but not the most structurally sound! Chips were fantastic we were advised one portion was only enough for one person but there was definitely enough for 2. Overall, a good experience and would recommend for lunch. View menu

I made a reservation for Christmas lunch at 1:00 pm but had to wait for my table to be ready. Eventually, I was taken to the Den, which had a good atmosphere. However, I was disappointed to learn that I could only order from the regular menu because I had not pre-ordered my food. Despite booking a Christmas lunch, I was told that someone had called me five days prior to ask for my food order, which I never received. If I wanted Turkey, I would have to wait an additional thirty minutes for it to be cooked, so we decided to stick with the regular menu. The food was delicious as always, but it took two hours to be served two courses. Even though I would have preferred not to leave a tip due to...

We have visited The Twisted Tree on many occasions both for breakfast and afternoon tea, it has never disappointed. Our most recent visit was for a birthday breakfast. Upon arrival we were sat in the main part of the restaurant which we find is always a little cramped so we asked to move into the conservatory part which the staff were very compliant with. The conservatory is much more spacious and has a lovely cosy vibe. There were 4 of us that visited the restaurant on this occasion. To drink, we ordered a tea, iced coffees (the iced coffees here are always lovely) and a latte. To eat, We had the bacon and maple syrup pancakes, pancakes with strawberries maple syrup and two small breakfasts...

"Exploring the outskirts of Leeds led me to discover the gem that is Corarima, a gluten free, vegan haven in Wakefield. As someone currently navigating a gluten free journey, stumbling upon this Abyssinian vegan/gluten free restaurant was a true delight. Opting for the combination platter for two was a journey through a sensory layer cake a symphony of tastes and smells expertly presented. We embraced the experience, relishing the deliciousness with our hands, a practice met with the owner's delighted approval. The host, a charming and attentive soul, took us on a culinary tour, passionately detailing each dish. He was so warm, Friendly and attentive without being over bearing. The decor added to the warmth, creating a homely ambiance that made this dining experience extraordinary. In the realm of UK dining, Corarima has secured its spot among our favorites. It's more than a restaurant; it's a rare and complete experience, a testament to the charm and authenticity of Abyssinian cuisine. I wish we lived closer as we’d visit regularly for sure! Dietary restrictions: I’ve recently had to go gluten free whilst also being vegan so it was wonderful to relax knowing that the menu was accommodating of my dietary requirements Kid friendliness: Whilst we were dining a family arrived with a young baby and the host was so charming and attentive with the baby. Engaging with the baby as if it was any other diner (even offering to take his order)!"
