"I am writing this review as part of my EXCELLENT experience at the Shoeburyness jamaican festival! As my partner is Celiac we find it hard to find gluten free food and The Jerk Cafe was the only stand that proudly displayed allergen awareness so I asked one of the young men if they could confidently supply a Gluten Free “loaded jerk chips” He was brilliant and although he knew the answer he still double checked the ingredients and all staff treated the food with the highest of hygiene (i.e washing hands, changing gloves and using clean utensils) The food flavour was the best we have ever had and we are thinking of driving top STROOD (never been there) just to come for dinner! If the owner is reading this, please give your team praise as they did you proud! I highly recommend anyone wanting to eat fantastic food! Duncan"

"I'm proud to call myself a weekly regular and I've been eating at Gina's cafe for many, many years. As someone who both enjoys food and travels a lot, I can, hand on heart, say that Gina's Cafe is my favourite cafe. Period. I've very rarely had a bad experience here, and I always leave satisfied. I'm a huge fan of the chicken curry with chips or the ham, cheese and mushroom omelette. The salad is very fresh and the chips are perfect! The staff are very pleasant and always take care to speak to my 6 year old son if he eats well, they let him choose a lolly before he leaves. Pricing is about what you'd expect from a cafe and the quality and cleanliness is superb. There is only one toilet, accessed from the garden, however it is clean. I would avoid trying to get a table at the busiest times it is normally very busy here and would recommend not sitting directly next to the front door or on the smallest tables if there is more than one person dining. There are some high chairs available, and a good selection of hot and cold drinks."

"My husband and I had a date night dinner , The lamb Biryani and Saag Aloo, were the worst I have ever had. I couldn 't eat the Saag Aloo because it was too hot with whatever they had added, chillies or spices I managed to eat a small amount of the Biryani but again any aromatic flavours were overpowered by the added spices or chillies. My mouth and lips were burning. We didn 't eat all of the meal. I would have told the waitress when we paid the bill if she had bothered to ask if we enjoyed the meal. We have been there before but there should not be such inconsistency with the flavour of the food. We will vote with our feet and not bother again. We will stick to the Gurkha in Chatham in future."

"I hired Nutmeg’s privately on a recent Sunday afternoon to celebrate a milestone birthday with 15 friends and I have to say we all had the most perfect afternoon. From start to finish the two lovely ladies ,the chef and our very own personal waitress, could not have been more helpful or accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious, many of my friends were new to Nutmegs and commented on how good the food was. There was such a relaxed atmosphere and a great ambiance, we all had so much fun . It’s a pleasure to support an independent local business and I would thoroughly recommend . A little gem ."

"Nice and big pub with a good menu section of food.and all you would expect for drinks as well. There is a car park next door with a very good amount of space. The food they serve is really well portioned and is really tasty! I would even argue the portions are too big, but don't think it's a bad thing at all! The outdoor seating area is perfect for those summer days and the indoor area has a few TVs scattered around to watch the latest game should you wish! Overall thumbs up."

"We had a pleasant dining experience at Darjeeling Heights. The food was consistently delicious, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our son feel welcome. The owner even checked in on us to ensure everything was to our liking. Our order included lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, chicken dansak, two orders of rice, a roti, naan, bombay potatoes, and two starters. We also enjoyed 6 poppadoms and 3 beers, and the bill came to £92, which was slightly higher than other local Indian restaurants. Despite the price, we would definitely return, particularly for the Sunday lunch buffet."

"Highlights: Booked the Christmas Lunch menu for 8 people, Pre Ordered. Arrived and no Christmas Lunch was available. Ordered from the Sunday Lunch menu instead. Waited ages for the food, which did not come out at the same time. Quality of the food was actually good but it 's not an experience I wish to repeat. Complained numerous times. No idea who was responsible probably never find out. 5 weeks ago I made a phone booking for 8 people for the Christmas Lunch menu. I visited in person 3 weeks ago with a Pre Order of our food choices and provided written confirmation of the booking (and paid a £10 per head deposit . Imagine my surprise when I turned up to find we would not be provided any of the Christmas lunch we had ordered. The reason the Kitchen (which is run as a separate business!! had recently been changed to new management. I enquired why had nobody thought to contact me after all I have provided a written booking well according to the Bar Manager that was someone 's fault but not hers, but she would investigate. We were offered the Sunday Lunch menu instead. We asked to see the menu and had a mobile phone thrust forward as, at the time, they hadn 't got any physical menu 's. The starters were all fish seafood related. 3 of the party decided to select the white bait. We wanted to order our Mains at the same time but the Server never came back. After waiting 40 minutes I returned to the Bar Manager and asked why we were waiting so long. She visited the Kitchen and was told they were just plating them up, and they did arrive shortly thereafter. After Starters were consumed we were able to order our Mains. We feared this may also take some time to appear...and we weren 't disappointed. About 40 minutes later the Server came out with one meal, and we had high hopes the remaining 7 meals would come out rapidly thereafter. No, but another table did receive their order. Our 'lucky ' diner almost finished their meal before the rest of us were able to start to enjoy ours. 15 minutes from 1st meal to last meal. The Roast we had was good quality, well cooked and extensive. If we wanted Salt, Pepper, Napkins, Sauces etc that wasn 't on offer, but available if we asked! We had intended to have a Desert but as we 'd already been there 2 hours and none of us could stand the thought of waiting another prolonged period for the final course we decided to call it a day. I returned to the Bar and asked for an itemised Bar bill, which I got and checked, and paid it. When I turned around the Server was next to me thrusting her card reader at me. I said I wanted an itemised bill and she disappeared. When she re appeared she had written the items we had ordered on her pad and the prices for each. I agreed to pay some of the Food bill (2 3rds but not the full bill. I explained the reasons for my decision to the Server and the Bar Manager. In view of the issues I experienced I asked to speak to the Owner. I was told he was not available so I asked if he would call me to discuss my experience, hence I have waited 2 days expectantly for his call before publishing this review. I 'm pretty certain that I 'll never get a call but I wouldn 't be surprised if he replies to this review with some rubbish. If anyone has ever visited a pub restaurant where you are told they operate as 2 separate businesses please let me know...and I 'll avoid it like the plague!"

"We stayed here for 1 night to attend a wedding at Cooling Castle. The manager is fantastic and drove us to the wedding venue and collected us at a time we chose, which was brilliant. The room was huge and very clean. The only downside was that the mattress was very uncomfortable, and we hardly slept as you could feel the other person turning over in their sleep and every movement woke us. The breakfast was amazing, but sadly, the smell of all the cleaning products while trying to eat wasn't appreciated as I felt like at times I was eating bleach as smell was so strong. But these things didn't make much of a difference, just an observation and hopefully something for them to consider. The checkout is very early at 9.30 am, and breakfast is from 9 am on the Sunday.. not very convenient after a wedding, and not being able to go back to your room after breakfast is also a hassle but fully understandable as guests want earlier check-ins to attend weddings. but it's still a shame that breakfast is earlier to accommodate the earlier check out. Overall, I would stay again."

"A lovely venue in a converted old barn, a really nice cosy bar area to sit and have a drink. The upstairs restaurant is very nice but a little too dark for my eyesight. Good menu with different offerings to the usual. Generally the food is good. The Pashwari Naan is the best we have ever had. The Prawn dishes are very good. However for me personally I always find the chicken not as tender as I would like and the Dhansak is too mild, it should have more spice. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Prawn Puri, Curry Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this restaurant. The Thai menu was delicious and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. The Chicken Pad Thai Noodles were a nice portion and had fantastic taste, not too spicy. I also tried the Beef Massaman and Egg Fried Rice which were also amazing. The meat was tender and the atmosphere was friendly. I will definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone. Great job, Rose Inn Team! "Went here on the back of reading all the glowing reports on trip advisor and I have to say I am really let down.. I am a lone traveller so it takes a lot for me to walk into a pub on my own and the welcome I got was anything but friendly. I went into the ‘quiet’ side of the pub and waited patiently for the staff to serve me. Having gone in the pub for dinner after a long day travelling I was greeted by a less than happy face Which instantly put me on the back foot! when I asked politely if they were serving food I got a very abrupt ‘no’ with no explanation. I asked why and was told in a very curt and rude manner that there was no chef. With that I turned around and left the pub immediately. I do not think in this day and age there is any excuse for rudeness when all that needed to be said was an apology explaining there was no chef this evening."

"My wife, daughter, and I visited this restaurant last night. We had been loyal customers of High Mings for the past 5 years until it closed, and had been struggling to find a decent replacement until we discovered this place. The food was delicious, fresh, well-prepared, and not greasy. I would even say that this Chinese restaurant is better than our previous favorite. We are excited to return in the future. "The prices at this restaurant are quite steep, but it seems they are able to maintain a steady stream of customers despite this. They use the same tongs for all the different types of salads, which can result in cross-contamination for those with specific dietary preferences. The food is tasty and they have certificates displayed on the wall. The staff is efficient in their service."

"What a fantastic afternoon! A very welcome refuge from the rain. The setting is perfect, right on the high-street. The decor is quaint and very pretty… highly Instagramable lol! The staff are so lovely here and actually bother to take the time to engage in conversation and make you feel very welcome. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. The menu is nicely varied leaving you spoilt for choice. Speaking of spoilt… the cakes here are delicious!!! … for a change I tried something from their festive menu… the lemon and cranberry scones were a delightful twist on a classic! So accommodating and hospitable, I would highly recommend coming here if you fancy a nice bite to eat or even just a coffee and cake. We were served by the lovely Harriet :"

"Our favourite local restaurant and the best Indian restaurant in Medway. Excellent service they can’t do enough for you and accommodated us with two dishes that weren’t even on the menu! Food was delicious too. Highly recommend the lamb chops!"

"So we ordered our food delivered , delivery driver was friendly , even tiped him once we opened our food we realised no sauces with popadoms phoned them up to be told you have to pay separate for sauces , so we have popadoms that we paid £2.40 for with no sauces at all, not told this at the time of ordering ...strange! Then we move onto the korma , it was lumpy with massive flakes of coconut, not nice at all, we have ordered from here before and it was not like this before , phoned them up and asked them to come and collect the food and give us a refund we have not touched this food at all! They were not very helpful and refused to give a refund, or even acknowledge that the food wasn’t right , kept saying there was nothing they can do , do not waste your money , we have now thrown it all in the bin and had to cook something , next time we will take the drive down to the cumin club in Rochester as much better food , service is better and not as over priced!"

"I hadn't been here for around 7 years but regularly went when I was younger and it was allways nice food and pleasant staff however this time we still had pleasant staff and the resturant inside is a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal but the food itself wasn't the best we had nachos wich where just very basic nothing special I would never put cheddar on nachos unless it was a mixed blend with mozzarella this was just cheddar not fully melted either but cheese and crisps is what it is not offensive probably the best part of the meal. I ordered a Greek kebab chicken pork Greek sausage with rice bread salad and chips. Food was piping hot but all the meat was soo so dry the rice was nice bread over toasted basiclly a crisp chips where good salad not so much far to much olive oil. Onion rings side where the best part of the meal for me. My partner has empire state burger he said it was really dry and pretty bland not enough sauce for a burger of that size. I didn't really enjoy my cocktail so moved on to a bottle of wine wich was awful kissing tree white zinfandel was really hard to drink even with the glass of lemonade i brought to add to it. Anyway we decided to try a dessert I got a truckers nut cream chocolate icecream I think its called wich I barley touched as the nuts where so bitter almost tasted burnt we ate as much as we could so that we didn't go home hungry but we won't return the menu really needs updating it's so old and outdated now and that might even be okay if it was cooked well but they need a new chef I felt like I was watching a Gordon Ramsey programme its just so outdated and needs a new chef however the staff was lovely and we did have a great laugh because the food was so bad we laughed out way through it so I still had a good night for wich I paid and left a tip but the one tip this place needs is new chef and updated menus and as lovely as all the staff are I hope they take that on board"

"Experience was good, server was accommodating and restaurant honoured requests to accommodate mobility issues. The length of time between courses was quite lengthy. Food was good, but apart from a couple of crackers on the table (considering it was a festive menu) it wasn’t very festive at all. Parking: Decent amount of parking, although you might struggle if it’s busy. Must remember to add number plate to the device inside the restaurant to avoid a fine."
