"The Wheatsheaf my seem a bit unassuming from the outside. You could mistake it for being a bit of a sleepy little country pub. On the inside it’s vibrant, warm and friendly. On a whim on a Friday, they managed to find a table for...two. Everything was fresh and of a good quality. It was good to have a decent Ale on tap, Cheshire Cat. The menu is simple and concise, always a good sign. There was a number of choices we could have chosen but I like to use a burger as a benchmark. Our second choice was the chicken ballotine with a Mediterranean twist. You want to know if it was good? I’ve been to lots of places that are meant to be good food and I’d say that the food here was exceptional. It can often be hard to find food that is not only well presented but tastes amazing. Not just tastes good, but fresh and vibrant too. The both meals were great, not too much, not too little, good balance of flavours, fresh, tasty and a treat for the eyes as well as the mouth. Great stuff. Keep up the good work. I look forward to my next visit."

My husband and I recently celebrated our Golden Wedding at the Wheatsheaf. We had a wonderful time. The staff were very helpful and polite. The room looked lovely. Everyone enjoyed the three course lunch. I would definitely recommend this venue.

welcome and service. veggie Sunday evening dinner a triumphant, yorkshire as great as a meal, texture exactly right, tastefully wellington, fabulous to leek gratin abd red cauliflower than veg, instead of running the mill veg. the quality of the toilets made me happy, almost one...going only for them. 6 days after.

this pub is local for my family and me, and we were often, but the last few times that we went to eat was not so nice. I'm not sure if they might have brought new chefs and they're not so experienced, or maybe they have a lack of personal? I would recommend the pub for locals, but not so much for travelers who want a beautiful meal. View menu

Had a superb meal at The Wheatsheaf last night. Carl is the perfect host. He is charming, courteous and always remembers names. Everyone is made to feel most welcome. The food was all excellent. Our party had the chicken breast with cream sauce, salmon risotto...and beef burger. All delicious. Restaurant standard rather than a pub meal. Highly recommended.

Bar staff polite manager not so everything seemed too much annoyed and was very abrupt with staff eating is expensive, not very good on family food packages said it would be half hour waiting for children to be ordered if not hungry 40. minutes for eating so we packed the car and went to another pub looking after us if they don't want our money to think they are much more institutions

We stumbled upon The Wheatsheaf Inn, passing by at lunchtime. The first thing that impressed us was the first class Covid-19 safety measures that were in place. A good start. What a gorgeous place, the decor was so tasteful. The food was great, the Malaysian...fish burger was the best burger I've ever had. We really enjoyed our experience at the Wheatsheaf, it was a totally spontaneous afternoon, it just happened and we're pleased it did, we would definitely go back if we're in the area, and would 100% recommend to everyone. Such a shame that it was so quiet, we wish you well and hope you weather the storm x

Lovely place, decor, staff. I ordered vegan quinotta with vegan halloumi'. What came was not made with quinoa, it was made with rice so was more like a risotto. I like risotto so didn't complain. I generally like a lot of seasoning but this was...way over seasoned, far too salty. This is not just a preference issue as the people with me tasted it too and even said the salt cellar must have been dropped into the meal. The rice was also underdone as it had quite a bite to it. I didn't send it back as we had waited a while for the meal and it would have meant the people I were dining with eating their meal and mine coming later after they'd finished. I ate the meal but regret it now as I had di...
