Reasonable prices, excellent food, friendly staff, nice venue. And, no phones, children under control great. Highly recommended

Food was superb, service with a smile. Cheap beer, not so much the wine! Atmosphere was very calming and relaxing! Overall a very friendly and welcoming place to be.

Fantastic pub, no mobile phones, no music, just a good old fashioned conversation and great atmosphere. All staff very friendly and the food lived up to expectations and value for money. I would highly recommend you pay a visit.

We had a Christmas dinner gathering with our family, some of whom had traveled from as far as Portsmouth. It was a party of nine, with ages ranging from 14 to 82, and everyone had a great time. The room was lively and inviting, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the table was decorated with festive decorations. Starting with my newly acquired education on what is involved with the rules visiting a Sam Smith pub..... No mobiles or gadgets allowed No music No swearing Will say after we got over the and felt like naughty school children offloading our phones...... found the manageress very pleasant and the food was fab......understand the concept and would return. Only slight issue for us was called when very quiet so the no music of any kind old school ambience got a bit lost in the silence.

We were off to Oldham to pick up sone stuff for our holiday and went a different route Where 's that pub that used to have a train attached to it as we stopped at the temporary lights There! Looks nice. Shall we stop for lunch? Best idea ever. FACT Genuinely THE best pub food I 've had in years. Not a roast fan but the Mrs had that and it looked beltin I had the fish and chips. Fish was incredible and was served with. Wait for it. Actual real chips! Best pub food in the last 10 years I 've had. FACT

I just want to express my gratitude to the owner, David, for his kind hospitality during a difficult situation I faced yesterday. I am a contractor for the Sam Smith’s chain and was visiting the restaurant when my van broke down as I was leaving. After waiting for 7.5 hours for assistance from the AA, I was told that my van couldn’t be fixed and needed a pick-up truck, which took an additional 90 minutes to arrive. It was a long and tiring day, starting at 6.30am and not getting home until midnight. I am truly grateful to David for making me feel welcome and keeping me supplied with Yorkshire tea.
