"Yesterday evening I was with Asian friends in this cozy and modern restaurant right in downtown Freising. We were delighted with the super friendly service and the typical food. The summer rolls and spring rolls as an appetizer are fresh and handmade. The Tom Rim Thit Gulasch with shrimps and vegetables from the tone pot was the hammer and the squids were so finely carved that you would break on the tongue. The Pho Bo is also recommended. My friends found it exceptionally good! Thank you for the taste experience. We're coming back!"

Were there today, the food was super delicious(viet. Summer roll, udon noodles, sesameballs) and freshly prepared prices were cheap, we will come more often.

We are vegans and our desires (please serve vegan without egg) they have received no problems. Vegetables were fresh and crisp. Very delicious. Our bike tour was worth it. We'll be back. View menu

Very friendly, honest and decent restaurant to have a taste of Asia. My wife is Thai and enjoyed the food (her expectations aren't that high, honestly, outside her or her mom's kitchen!), but it was a welcome change from Spatzle and Kuchen....

I spent 3 nights in Freising before my flight and I go to this place for my lunch and dinner. I'd have my lunch there and take my dinner. The family that leads the place is very nice people, working hard. Relaxed atmosphere, no rush. The food tastes good with a generous part. Appropriate price.

My husband, daughter, and I are American expats living in Freising. We live very close to Thien Thanh and eat here regularly. We live their food! The waitstaff is very friendly and they love playing with our baby daughter. The cuisine is mostly Vietnamese with a smattering of Thai and Chinese thrown in. They have a few tables outside and inside is newly renovated and very clean. View menu

I really enjoyed the meal here. The food was fresh and came quickly. The waitress was really friendly. As the chef is Vietnamese i would suggest ordering Vietnamese dishes. She showed us on the menu and it was excellent. Other meals great too, but there were only two of us so i cant comment on the whole menu. I did see other peoples meals and they all looked nice. There is a garden area at the back where you can sit too.

We happened upon Thien Thanh Restaurant by chance as we were walking back to our hotel from Freising railway station. Lan was very friendly and helpful despite our lack of facility in German language. The restaurant is unpretentious, clean and comfortable, the prices more than reasonable, the cuisine on offer very accessible. The quality and taste of the dishes are superior. Highly recommended for those who love good south east Asian food (or perhaps simply want to try it for the first time).

"Having read some positive reviews on Kathi’s, we decided to go. Upon arrival we were advised the restaurant was full and the only table available was within a small overflow area. Before taking in the surroundings, we accepted and sat down. We quickly realised the...area we were sat was the entrance to two shops and a bar?!! The shop windows were in need of a wash and the ambience was non existent. I absolutely adore steak and often cook in my own kitchen, I was really keen to try the special Bavarian steak. I’m a little confused as to why you would come to Bavaria and order meat from another country? There was many selections from other countries available. I should note that with a price tag of €39, my expectations were high. My husband ordered the burger. Our food arrived and cutting into my steak, it became obvious the meat was not cooked as ordered, I requested “medium”...the meat had not been rested either meaning the meat juices and blood were on my plate. I requested the waiter return to the kitchen for further cooking. Once my steak arrived back, it was cooked to my preference however still oozing meat juices on the plate. At home, my steak is rested for a minimum of 5 minutes to avoid this. The meat was nice and so too were the accompaniments, my husband reports his burger was tasteless and laden with various sauces, causing it to collapse with moisture. All in all, we would not return. A restaurant focusing on serving steak should have chefs who know how to successfully cook (and rest) this expensive cut of meat."
