"This was mine and my wife’s first visit to Titos and our initial impression was that this was a very smart little restaurant, with a relaxed vibe and with good smelling food cooking away in the background. Unfortunately the experience went downhill from there. First we were told there was no ice in the restaurant so they couldn’t make sangria and the waiter, who also seemed to be the manager, advised they couldn’t go out and get any as they were short staffed. We then settled on a beer for me and a wine for my wife which the waiter later admitted he forgot about, which was after we chased him for our drinks. We were also told that as we had a 7.45pm booking and the kitchen closed at 8, we had to choose our food ASAP otherwise they couldn’t cook what we wanted. Why take a 7.45pm booking then and why offer no flexibility in timings, especially as this was a bank holiday weekend so more people than usual would have been in the restaurant? Then we were told that a third of the menu items we chose were unavailable for various reasons anyway.....! The food came in a reasonable time and it was nice but it was still disappointing because it wasn’t really what we had wanted. Also, they forgot to bring us one of the tapas and didn’t even apologise properly when we pointed that out. Worse still, three quarters of the way though our meal we hear and see the same waiter filling an ice bucket with ice. Where did that come from? We tried to flag down some service but by the time we were successful we’d finished our food (and had not once been asked if then food was all okay and as expected, or if we needed another drink) so it was a bit late then to order a big jug of sangria. When challenged regarding the ice the waiter said he was “just about to come over and tell us”. Sadly he had not. Naturally we made our feelings known on the shambolic nature of the meal and service and in the end he agreed we would only pay for the food and not the two drinks we had each had."

Excellent service, took on an extra couple to my booking at no notice at all. Fabulous evening once again.

Love the food at Titos and the new layout. Would like to have half a litre of sangria for two people, as a litre is too much.

The food is absolutely delicious! Don’t be fooled by what you might think are small tapas dishes because the flavours are so intense you don’t big portions. View menu

I had a wonderful first visit to Tito. It was a warm day, and the side doors were open, creating a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed two dishes of black shell and a beautiful bottle of white wine.

My husband tried to ignore it and enjoy his meal, but it was futile. He went to check with the staff to see if they could get someone to address the issue, and they simply replied that it was beyond their control. He explained that we were paying a lot for our meal and wine but couldn't enjoy it due to the constant noise. The manager eventually came over in a confrontational manner, stating it wasn't his fault that the alarm was going off, that he had prepared our food, and implied we were being unreasonable. He told us we could either leave or stay. My husband clarified that we loved the food and weren't complaining about that; we were just unable to enjoy it because of the noise. The mana...

He asked if we could move inside, but the waiter casually responded that the noise was the same in there. My husband tried to make the best of it and enjoy his meal, but the sound continued to be a distraction, so he went inside to see if the staff could do anything about it. They simply shrugged it off, stating that it wasn't their responsibility. My husband expressed that we were paying a significant amount for our meal and wine and just wanted to enjoy our evening without the constant interruption. The manager approached us in an aggressive manner, blaming us for the situation and suggesting we were ungrateful despite being the ones affected. He accused my husband of being aggressive, w...

"I would first like to start out by saying that this is a gorgeous little cafe, with very friendly staff and great options for everyone. I have been eating at The Orchard for a couple of years, and have loved it. I am plant based, and have always found their vegan options to be brilliant! However, last week I accidentally ate meat for the first time in 6 years due to fault of the chef. Twice in a row, I have visited and ordered a vegan) seitan Reuben sandwich, and have been served the real meat version instead, which I believe contains corned beef traditionally. Luckily for me, the first time this happened, the waitress noticed before I could even eat any, and they replaced it quickly. I understand these things do happen, and am a big believer in second chances, so I went back recently. I ordered the same sandwich, and took 3 mouthfuls before realising something tasted unfamiliar, so I checked inside and found real meat. I was devastated when I realised, and so was the waitress and manager. The manager refunded our total bill, and was incredibly apologetic and mortified that it had happened. I know this wasn't any fault of the front of house staff they listened carefully. I feel like I can't go back, unfortunately, as I can't risk eating meat again. And I'm really sad that's the case, because this was one of my favourite spots to eat and I'll miss it so, so much!! I hate to rate a small business poorly, but I really felt I needed to warn any non meat eaters, as I can only imagine how much more devastating it would be if this happened to someone that gave up meat for religious or allergy reasons. If you eat meat then there's no need to worry, as this place is fantastic otherwise. If the cafe replaces their chef then I would love to come back one day... :"
