"We Arrived and were promptly seated. Upon arriving at the table the menus were dirty, I had stains which appeared to be blood or meat juices or possibly a sauce. Order was initially taken quite promptly. We ordered two seats of parmo croquettes to share. Upon the starters finishing, steak knives were placed on the table, albeit the wrong way around. Despite using forks for the starter these were not replaced so had no forks for main course. We ordered two chaturbiand, 1 fillet and one flat iron. The flat iron was bland, no taste no flavour. The chatubriand is small and again very little taste. The fillet was a good size and ok in taste but again lacked flavour. The sides were great, the brisket was well liked, however the creme peas were hard and the sauce fairly watery. After finishing dinner no one came to clear the table, I tried really hard to get attention, despite the staff all stood at the bar talking. The table behind us waiter approx 10-15 mins to have drink orders taken. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Because of the wait 2 of our party Left, everyone wanted to leave but I wanted dessert. Haven’t been to tomahawk previously I knew the sticky toffee pudding (best course of the night) was divine. I asked the server for the sticky toffee pudding and the bill. The total bill was just over £350.00 for 6 people. The food in my opinion for the quality is way overpriced and was underwhelmed by the service. This was supposed to be a special treat for a birthday and an expensive one at that for mediocre service and food."

Awful food. 4/6 steaks were undercooked. Mid-rare steak was blue unedible. Sides awful. This place used to be fantastic and has really went downhill since it expanded. Our server Ellie was sweet

Excellent breakfast. Been twice now for breakfast in the last few weeks and I have to say it’s top notch. Service is really good too. Classy environment with a nice vibe. Fried potatoes are scrumptious.

It was ok, better than our visit to the Saltburn one. Starter was nice, Steak was very average, dessert was nice. I definitely would only go when a deal is on as at full price it's way overpriced for the quality.

We booked for some relaxing downtime for an over night stay/bed breakfast and we certainly weren’t disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by Corin who went out of her way to ensure we got a true experience. Accommodation/service and food were faultless, we’ll certainly return. View menu

Took advantage of a midweek overnight offer and what a great time. The room was fantastic as was was the food, which was first class, to top it all some great staff who were excellent throughout our stay. Definitely be visiting again soon! PS if your ordering breakfast try the Special Brisket Hash Brown, Wow!

Visited for Sunday lunch and the food was very good, both the main meals and the additional sides and plenty of it. The only downside was the service was terrible, waiting for 20 minutes after being seated for a drinks order to be taken, then a further wait for someone else to take the food order. If it had been me by myself I would have left without eating. This ruined the meal for me, so despite great food we won’t be returning.

This was our second visit to this restaurant, and once again, we had mixed results. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be returning for a third time. It was my son's 21st birthday, a special occasion that we were hoping to make memorable. They definitely succeeded in making it memorable, but not in a good way. The steaks on the sharing board were only halfway edible. We had requested them to be cooked medium rare, but they were barely rare in the middle, almost like chewing on raw meat. View menu

I arrived at the restaurant in the late afternoon and inquired about meal service. The staff warmly welcomed me, asked about allergies, and offered to seat me according to my preference. The service was efficient and friendly, with my drink arriving promptly and my order served in a reasonable amount of time, considering it was freshly prepared. The meal I selected from the extensive menu was excellent. I had initially passed by the restaurant but decided to turn around and stop in, and I'm glad I did! It's a great restaurant in a lovely country location, with friendly staff and delicious food!

Very nice location inside and out. Warm and cosy/ elegant setting giving an air of high end market. The Staff are very attentive and polite. The food was only average and not what the price demanded. Sunday lunch is Sunday lunch but I 've eaten far better for half of the price. Don 't expect to pay extra for mashed potato. Pork with crispy crackling was actually super dry overcooked pork with wobbly fat and not the crispy crackling that people want. The beef was again pretty average, quite a lot of chewy sinew but tasty. The veg was spot on and a good choice. The desert was really tasty and a wow from the wife. Would I go again? yes! But probably for steak and chips or to try something else...

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."
