"every time we come to venice, we always go to the ceremonies da’a marisa. we've been here for years. it is a small restaurant that fills quickly, and they have sitting outside under a tent. our advice is to arrive early to guarantee a place at the table. our server, alvise and julia, were great. they seem to hurry when they sit down, but if they have ordered, they can stay as long as they want. they offer every day a price-resistant lunch for them will be amazed what they get. they offer a 1⁄4 liter water, 1⁄4 liter wein (red or white,) brot, a selection of several pastas, a selection of meats or seafood secondi, choice of two sweet sides and a coffee. what a snoop! on this trip we enjoyed a 1⁄4 liter white and red wine – pasta bolognese, sautéed boneless chicken breast, a grilled pork with spinach/sweeping, excavated and a filled tomato. all freshly prepared by anna and their kitchen staff and all delicious. we had every coffee. what can we say this restaurant serves consistently good eating?"

Original authentic Italian food away from the tourist areas and at very affordable prices. But be ready to order without a menu card

For 3 courses with wine 20 Euros this place can't be beaten! Great location and friendly service. Basic food but really tasty. Authentic working class Venice at its best.

Excellent food at a great price and a mix of tourists and locals enjoying the fabulous food. It cost 30 euro for wine, water, pasta course, main course with vegetable, and an espresso.

This dinner was fantastic. One in our group said it may be the best seafood dinner he had ever had. It was a multi course set menu that included wine. Service was excellent. We sat outside right along the canal. The entire experience was wonderful. Reservations are a must! View menu

My wife and I came here for dinner as American visitors to Venice as a recommendation from a BnB host, and so happy that we did. Four courses of food including endless house white wine, all for an affordable price. It was seafood night and our starter included 6 plates of various seafoods. Seafood lasagna was amazing and memorable. Friendly service and uniquely has a new menu each day. Don’t miss this gem of a trattoria in the Cannaregio neighborhood!

This won’t be for everyone but we loved it. We sat down having been told it was fish night and immediately were hit with antipasti which was a meal in itself. Stewed octopus, marinated sea bass, cheesy baked mussels, bacalao and polenta. Then a seafood lasagne. Then some friend calamari. Then a little mascarpone pudding with biscuits. We had better food on our trip but the boisterous no-nonsense, old fashioned Italianness was fun. Fizzy wine from the tap, grappa to finish. No booze charge. We just went with the flow.

We absolutely loved this place. It would have been helpful to know up front what the experience would be so let me share. Once we were seated, our server explained that they have a set menu. They serve you what they serve you, there is no menu to read and no decisions for you to make. Everything is seafood. Starters included sea bass, baby octopus. First course was a seafood lasagna, which sounds weird but was in fact delicious. Next course was fried seafood, calamari and other types of fish. Throughout the meal they replenish the table with their house white wine which is very good. Place is outside of the tourist bustle and was packed mostly with locals when we were there. Highly recommend...

"This is my second review on this place...after The Fork assured me they would resolve the situation following my complaint about the 20% discount that You Sushi would not honour. Food and drink... no problem. Nice enough food. That 's the good bit out of the way. We booked using The Fork and quoted the 20% discount offer on food and drink. I also reiterated this when we arrived and was told that was fine, no problem! On receiving the bill I again pointed out the 20% discount was missing, even though I 'd gone through this on arrival. They played absolutely dumb and refused the discount. I even showed them their website with the discount on it. To no avail, they weren 't interested. I paid, albeit reluctantly, and we left. I took this up with The Fork. All seemed fine and they gave me Yum points since they agreed I was in the right. I pointed out that Yum points are of no use since the closest UK restaurant I could use them is over 200 miles away! They promised to get back to me, resolve the issue with the restaurant etc so I left it with them. Now they 've washed their hands of it! The discount still shows at 20% for each and every day despite them refusing to honour it!! and The Fork have not taken any action against them. This leaves a very bad taste no pun intended and after the cheating restaurant and The Fork 's complete lack of trying to help other than utterly useless Yum points which are as much use to me a 7 dollar note it 's the last time I use either. So..if you do visit this place, be prepared to be conned out of the 20% discount."
