"Despite its less than appealing exterior, don't let the building itself deter you from trying this restaurant. The decor may be a bit worn, with scratched tables and dim lighting, but the food more than makes up for it. Locals clearly enjoy the menu, as the restaurant was bustling on a Monday evening. The dishes may not be considered high-end cuisine, but they are tasty, generously portioned, and budget-friendly. Even the side salad impressed with fresh and quality ingredients. While it may not be worth a long drive for dinner, it's a convenient stop off the A9. For locals, it's a pleasant neighborhood spot with a great view of the Moray Firth. Service can be brusque, unless you're a regular, in which case you'll likely enjoy some lively conversation and banter."

We decided to try the pub for food after driving past a number of times. The food was very good and the portion sizes were large. We would definitely visit again.

Nice ensuite room with a great view over the water and 2 excellent meals. All three of us enjoyed our dinners. Pasta, chicken and sirloin with a nice haggis app first.

The food at this restaurant was excellent. I was only expecting typical pub food, but it turned out to be one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I ordered the Cajun salmon, and it was delicious. The staff were also very friendly.

Good points: Lovely location overlooking the Cromarty Firth and very picturesque (although Invergordon itself doesn't have much to offer, but I guess you use the location purely as a base. Very cheap think it was about £60 a night b&b. I cannot complain...

Found this lovely quiet pub after visiting the Mermaid of the North. Food choices great plenty to choose from. When the food came the portions were big!! The Mac and cheese was extremely tasty and very cheesy. Burger was massive and the chips were really... View menu

Bland food and expensive for what it is. Scampi is just a mush inside the breadcrumbs. Seafood prawns are tasteless defrosted ones. Smoked salmon and mussels ok. Salad nice. Chips are skin on fries from the freezer. Very slow service. The view is good but paying tourist prices for this ok meal will only go back to have a drink outside in summer.

The hotel was great. Nice big room, and the bathroom was huge. Bed nice and comfy. The food was amazing. Had the chicken leek and bacon pie, and my partner had the trio of seafood. We had the sunday dinner. Plenty of roast beef and trimmings. The breakfast every morning was good. There are plenty of choices. The staff are brilliant and very helpful. Great place.
