"I was given a free lunch for 2 voucher by the lovely people at Zomato, in the end I went along with 6 work girls. My voucher was for the Thali lunch, in the end we all went for that. The Thali consists of 2 curry's, ours were sweet sour lamb and chicken korma, blackpudding pakora, rice, a chapati and mixed pickles. We also got 2 nann to share, no need, one would have done, THEY. ARE. HUGE. Both curry's were gorgeous. Kormas aren't usually my thing but this was so full of flavour, tender chicken, sweetness of coconut, just great. The lamb was also melt in the mouth and I'd happily have both again. The blackpudding pakora was one of the best things I've ever had, I cannot wait to go...read more"

Yum! Great bar and food. Relaxed vibe with excellent selection of beer, especially from Williams Bros. curry selection is good as well, something different from the norm with fish, meat and veggie available.

Okay, so for those who have been following the foodie stories on this blog for the past seven years or so, they will know that the silver fox and I don't go out as much as we used to. However, when Felix the Fox Club, the charming, quirky little spot, opens up for a weekend night, it's something to look forward to.

there with a groupon voucher. the place itself looks funny. service is very slow waiting 40 minutes for two naanwiches. and eating itself is terrible. too much edgy and we both couldn't take more than a few bites. had to leave quite all this eating untouched and went around the corner to king-shear for another meal. will not be back.

Had never been here before but had heard great things about a vegetarian friendly menu and was excited to check it out. Over 65% of the menu is vegan (or can be adapted- they were very helpful and accomodating) but there was PLENTY to choose from. The Thali was superb; I will be back for the sweet potato curry asap. Excited to come back for brunch and a vegan night soon too

The Raj in Blackhall, Edinburgh is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Formerly known as the Suburbane Esebistro, it is now owned by Tommy Miah. From the beginning to the end of the meal, everything was excellent. We enjoyed poppadoms, veggie pakora, chicken Vindaloo, mushroom pilau rice, aloo gobi massallam, and naan bread. The staff were very polite and not imposing. A big plus was that the Kingfisher beer was cold. We will definitely return. The only reason for not giving five stars is that the water in the toilet for washing hands was just a trick, but other than that, no complaints.

I had high expectations for V Deep after hearing so many positive reviews. I purchased an Itison voucher for the Curry Feast, which included 2 poppadoms, mixed pakora, 3 chef's choice curries, rice, naan, salad, and a flight of cask ales or a soft drink. The original cost would have been £51, but I paid only £24 for 2 people. If I had paid full price, I would have felt ripped off. The server was friendly and seated us at our table, which had unique decor including mural artwork and interesting tables made from old shutters and doors. Overall, my experience was positive, especially with the Itison Deal.

I am quite quickly becoming a big fan of V Deep. Having somewhere like this just round the corner from my flat is always pretty awesome. They have a great selection of beers, I personally love the weisse beers that they have on offer. I've only had the chance to eat here once and went for the Kohli Fried Chicken. The flavours were incredible and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I also loved the coconut chutney that comes with it. The atmosphere inside is really chilled and they have some really cool artwork. Everytime I have visited, I have found the staff to be really friendly and helpful when it comes to picking a good beer!

I went to eat with my bf. I was thrilled by the interior and the concepts of the restaurant, it is alive. it is packed as it is Saturday night, best recommend to make reservations. we waited for less than 6 minutes and we have our special private cubic with mirror ball above it. we order papadum it was amazing. chicken wings were not cooked as we had to return them. main course were lamm curry, fish curry and discworm mother lamm curry was good. fish curry would be good if they use white fish instead of salmon. paneer murm was not as I expect it to be too watery Indian food is not all about chili! it is about spicy and taste dessert was ok. I like rhabarb with ice. I...read more

When the lovely people of Zomato enticed me to V Deep, I was delighted as I'd been meaning to go for a while. I was a massive fan of the Vintage, and was literally devastated when they stopped the charcuterie. However, big fan of Indian food so let's have a try. Was greeted and shown to our table, which was at the end of a bench. My partner was then given his beer, which was warm...and I wasn't even asked if I wanted to see the drinks menu. When I eventually got a menu, my choice of wine was out, and my partners choice of beer was also out. Not a great start. And it didn't get much better. Our Thali came 2 curries, rice, pickles, chapati and Pakora. Had to ask the waiter what the...read more

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
