"The atmosphere was very nice and pleasant, the staff very nice and attentive. We had in 3 and a 4-course menu (2 people): Everything was perfect for the eye. The greeting from the kitchen was very good (fresh baguette with oil, salt, duck breast). A first step (soup of crustaceans) was completely salted, otherwise taste very good. A 2nd gear (jacobs and shrimps) with couscous was completely salted, otherwise taste very good. In a main course (table tip from calf, medium) the meat of taste was very good, but for me not to chew (extremely hard). The rest of the food was okay, but none of it was amazing. For me as a wine lover disappointing: 2 white wines of taste ok, but no smell/bouquet. The red wine from Portugal had at least unexpectedly a small nose. Sherry and Cognac were good. Deserts (choco bars and mascara) were very good. On the basis of several experiences with restaurants of 0-3 stars recommended in the Michelin Guide in Europe, the VEN has an upscale kitchen; so many mistakes (2 salted foods, extremely viscous veal) and up to an exception of average, uninteresting wine disqualify this place in relation to the Michelin level from my point of view."
