"That specific corner in Speicherstadt only gets disturbed by the tourists boats carrying dozens of visitors each time making turn right where the outdoor tables are other than that, the place is as quiet and peaceful as it can be! The side shop is...pure refinement of chocolate delicacies and all related to tea drinking and enjoying! Therefore, if not willing to have a proper meal, the place is perfect for tea and cake or alike, and that not to a low price! Service can indeed, as mentioned here often, be improved and should be more attentive and even respectful. I abide to those who sat down and needed to wait some while to get the attention of some waiters, though there were more than enough of them! That didn't ruin the experience and the place is indeed to be recommend, be it only for tea and sweets, be it for a romantic evening experience."

Did not eat at the restaurant but the location and the architecture was great, you should visit it as well as the surrounding “Speicherstad”

I went for dinner with colleagues and had an excellent meal. The building is interesting and has charm. The prices are reasonable and I'm happy to recommend Wasserschloss to anyone looking for dinner in an atmospheric building.

Great service and great staff! I was here in July and came back in August! A friend gave me a voucher and everything went very smooth with it. I loved every second of my experience here and it was a great way to end my...backpacker’s journey View menu

Great place in the middle of Speicherstadt! We had a great lunch and very nice breakfast. We forgot to make a reservation for breakfast but they had a free table. Great price and excellent service! The veggie breakfast we had was great and was more...than enough.

beautiful, quiet location in the spiecherstadt, hamburgs lagerviertel, with views of the channels and beautiful brick buildings. I recommend the labskaus (a speciality from northern Germany with hering, kartoffeln, beet roots, gherkins and served with a fried egg) and the apple cake!

We’ve had four nights in Hamburg all levels of restaurants have been accommodating with our walk-in attendance. Not Wasserschloss. Arrived at 18:00 on Wednesday with 80% empty tables. A young, brunette waitress insisted that if we hadn’t booked they could not seat us. Maybe...it was going to get busy? We strolled yards away to Schönes Leben where we were seated immediately and had a delightful meal. View menu

a beautiful place to go after the hike to eat the storage city. I first tried currywurst and found it delicious! we went in, hoping to get a coveted table outside with a look at the channels, but they were all full. it was a nice cozy atmosphere (for the small child in our group a bit dark.) but soon a table opened in free and a friendly staff offered to move us. the service was great, the food was delicious, and the drinks were phenomenal. there was something for everyone in our group, from the adventurous gourmets to the untested American palate, to the 1 1/2-year-old infant. while there were some threats of rain (a few very light sprinkles) we adhere to our terrace seats and enjoyed us ve...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
