"Dinner with three friends turned into a memorable reunion. Lobster ravioli was the star first course. Difficult to pick a winner from the mains. The bouillabaisse, the lamb rump, vegetarian curry and rump steak were all delicious and well presented. The wine list is exceptional both in terms of its range of interesting wines from boutique producers around the world as well as its pricing which encourages the selection of wines at the more expensive end. We chose a very good German blauburgunder which was a great expression of this grape. The sommelier is a very knowledgeable and passionate enthusiast who is a sad loss to the Green Room. He is to be congratulated on what has been achieved here"

We had Sunday lunch at Whiskers from their fixed price menu. The food was excellent, service very good and excellent value for money. Recommended.

I really wanted to love this place but they seemed so disinterested in us. We each had a glass of wine and had to literally flag the man down after being finished our wine for quite some time who was busy cleaning glasses at the bar just to get us our bill.

Enjoyed excellent food wine. Menu is varied and portions are generous. Service was friendly attentive without feeling that we were rushed. Mussel starter came with delicious bread and Guinea fowl mains were beautifully cooked served with interesting accompaniments. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyable evening, food was outstanding, I had the venison was melt in the mouth and my wife had the sea bream which was so well flavoured. Staff were super attentive, really pleasant and very helpful with suggestions or advice. If you want a classy, friendly, high quality experience, this is where you should head. View menu

We always always have a fantastic experience in Whiskers. We usually go for a family Sunday roast and the food is faultless with generous portions and lots of fresh vegetable sides to share. The staff are warm, professional and knowledgable and happy to give recommendations about the food or wine menu. Can’t recommend it enough!

Popped in for lunch without a reservation on a wet cold and windy Edinburgh Saturday recently. We were met at the door and then served by Miguel whose knowledge of wines is encyclopaedic. The food was very good and represented good value for money. The ambience was also very good with tables well spaced apart. Would definitely go back next time we are visiting Edinburgh.

Whiskers has an attentive and skilled staff that warmly welcomed us into a simple but warm atmosphere. We started with the Mushroom Spring roll where the slightly sweet sauce excellently accented the earthy taste of the mushrooms. One of us had the Guinea Fowl with lentils while the other had steak. Both were cooked to perfection, tender, and flavourful. We finished with a lemon tart whose brisk, fresh taste was a perfect ending. Wine pairings for dinner and dessert were perfect. View menu

This gem of a restaurant has eluded our party until now and boy, have we been missing out! The restaurant serves quality local produce in fully flavoursome dishes, which our party loved. Couple this with a lovely setting and attentive, knowledgeable service, and it made for a wonderful experience. The £30 per head, 3 course lunch menu is exceptional value for money and we did wonder how they managed to serve such fantastic fare at this price point. Please get yourself along to Whiskers, as it is worth the effort!

We walked from our nearby Airbnb Flat and enjoyed cocktails, wine and dinner including dessert. The restaurant was not busy and we were welcomed and seated by a very gracious host. Our appetizers were wood pigeon in a delicious cherry sauce. Main courses were Lobster Tagliettere and a Roasted Trout in a light pea broth on top of sweet potato. We enjoyed an Old Fashioned and Prosecco with a glass of wine with the fish, paired by the owner. The wine menu is outstanding. Dessert highlight was a strawberry concoction full of flavor. Definitely give this spot a try.
