"This pub was a recommendation from family member. And I was very empress with the ambience of the place and the younger member of staff was amazing friendly and helpful. The White Hart allso has Play area in the garden and my boys had great fun we had a hard job getting them out when it was time to go. I would of given 5* but couple of things stoped me from giving 5 star's. I enjoyed my cod and chips but it was small amount and at £13.95 and I would of been still hungry if I didn't order bread and butter with it and maybe an idea including bread and butter with the meal as this would be more reasonable to charge £13.95. and the puddings were great but we're small and we're between £7 and £8 and should of been £5 what would of been fair for the really small size. The other negative was the middle age lady I know from other reviews she has been mentioned. She was unfriendly boarding on rude when she took our dessert order, the body language was hostile. I feel if these 2 negatives could be improved the overall rateing would easily be 5 ."

The owners/ staff gave a friendly welcome. The restaurant had some unique leather chairs and a small library. A solo singer performed during our visit. The atmosphere was pleasant. The clean restrooms were a nice touch.

We enjoyed a delicious fish sharing board, followed by scallops for me and mussels for Paul. The food was excellent and we found this restaurant to be a hidden gem in Iron Acton. Unfortunately, there was no room left for dessert.

Lovely country pub with lots of traditional features. Open fire. Served some lovely food and large fish range. Service was excellent. Ale was Green King so would have nice to have a guest on. Large gin selection. Very good all round. THANKS

We were a group of twelve people with varying dining circumstances - some of us had paid a deposit, some had not, and one had special dietary needs. Joanne and her staff were incredibly patient, accommodating, and friendly. The service was top-notch and the food was delicious. We never felt rushed to leave after finishing our meal, and the price for the Christmas menu with 2 or 3 courses was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family, and look forward to returning to try more dishes on the menu. A big thank you to Jo and her team!

"Went for an impromptu meal with her indoors, as this was a local pub we've not been in for a long time we thought will pop in. Greeted by an over enthusiastic bar person who was dragging out the empties from the night before, ordered a couple of drinks and we sat down with the menu's, after perusing the menu we were ready to order, at the same time we were ready a regular couple walked in and sat at there regular table and oredered there regular meal, but the regular gentleman actually wanted an extra sausage with his sausage and chips, well! The kerfuffle this caused was astronomical, this conversation went on for Many many minutes, my wife and I was desperately trying to catch her attention to have another drink, eventually my wife went to the bar and waited, we got served eventually. Then our food came out of the kitchen, we went for the light bites as we were in a snacky mood, Chicken strips Mozzarella bites Chips with curry sauce and nachos. We never got the nachos as there was no guacamole BTW Chips came out which were actually fries, covered in this sauce, gross, then we had 3 chicken strips with no garnish £4.95 £1.63 each Then 4 mozzarella bites came out, no, nothing else just 4 mozzarella bites, £4.95 £1.24 each. So if you want have your pants pulled down and be robbed of your hard earned cash then this is the place to go, as for me and my wife we won't be. We did mention the poor quality and value for money but it was brushed under the dirty carpet and she was going to feed our comments back to the kitchen."

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."
