"Unexpectedly lovely experience. We loved our lunch here and found it by looking for 'Modern European ' on Urbanspoon. Wine. Served from innovative machinery that ensures the wine is fresh. This means you can try a variety of wines by the glass safe in the knowledge that they won 't be oxidised, even if they were opened a couple of weeks ago. Because the selection of wine is very good, you might find yourself splashing out on a delicious Montrachet to start with before going onto a cheaper second glass of something from Spain or the New World. Since you 're buying good wine by the glass, you might then feel like indulging yourself on a Ch. Talbot, in a way that you wouldn 't if they only served it by the bottle. All this means you get serious quality and variety without getting drunk or spending over the odds. Food. The bread and olive oil were absolutely delicious. The starter (smoked mackerel and beetroot soup) was very unusual but extremely good. The Tempura fish and chips was every bit as good as you might find in one of Sydney 's super-fresh and reliable fish restaurants, e.g. Garfish. This was far better than anything we 've found elsewhere in the UK, and we 've looked hard. Also, the service was faultless. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be coming back to show it off to friends. Hope they keep their standards up!"
