"the winking prawn is the only beach café that we have seen in salcombe, north sands that offers picturesque views protected by high green carvings. we sat outside and started our meal with a delicious cripple of pimms. the staff were incredibly friendly and had a lot to know about the local antidote. After an hour we ordered our food: an incredibly soft garnel cocktail, half a pint fried garnel, fruits de mer and pommes. the food was fresh, seasonal and carefully prepared on the grill. I especially enjoyed the services of: mixed dressed salad bowl, warm dressed kartoffeln, half baguette, garlic mayo, black pepper dip, sweeti chilli sauce and bbq dip. I can't believe that we stay on the ground for 3.5 hours! nice to have gone before the rush hour to enjoy the food, the intentional and the business. thanks for us!"

We stopped for two small plates. The mackerel beetroot and salted cucumber salad was superb. The prawn cocktail also good. The craft beer and wine spritzers were fine also, although the beer certainly not cheap. A definite recommend.

Despite a bit of drizzle, we had a fantastic dining experience! The food was excellent, and the service was impressively quick through their app. The restaurant is situated in a great location, close to a small dog-friendly beach and bay.

Nice place to stop for a coffee or a snack on a winter coastal walk. Easy online ordering system via their website. Rapid delivery to the table. Nice food at reasonable prices. Imagine it could be chaotic in the summer as it's ideally situated for the beach.

Can't fault the place, seafood is my wife's thing and she loves it. Staff, set up and food were excellent. Parking wasn't the best but it was a busy day. Wifey definitely wants to go back. Next time we use the park and ride. It wasn't extremely reasonable pricing for the area too. View menu

What a fantastic experience! The location is great, and the food was delicious. I was especially impressed by the quality of the service and how quickly we were served. If only all businesses operated so efficiently! Kudos to the staff for being so polite, attentive, and engaged. Well done!

Situated wonderfully on South Sands its a very nice place. Service was a little difficult to obtain, but then our crab sandwiches came speedily. They were tasty, full of white and brown crab with some tomato and cucumber we weren't expecting. This place is on the expensive side because of it's lovely location, however the quality of food for the price was very good.

This restaurant is in a perfect location, just a short walk from the beach, making it ideal for families enjoying a day by the sea. You can easily head over for a drink and a bite to eat after some fun in the sand. The food is great, and the service is friendly. It is a bit on the pricey side, but you’re paying for the fantastic view and the prime location. We always make a point to visit whenever we’re on vacation at the beach. I would definitely recommend checking it out! View menu

"we went here on Saturday evening (party of 4,) as we regularly visit the sister restaurant are the winking prawn, which is beautiful. our waitress was very nice, but eating was literally terrible. we ordered halloumi while we read the menu that it was not possible. raw halloumi swim in extremely strong garlic oil. they took the bill when we didn't touch it. starter: mush were full of grit and minuscule. they were clearly not fresh. prawns were cooked and tasteless. bands were nice crochets were good. netz: 2 krabbensalate (one with a pfeffer allergy that we have told the waitress were not listed on the menu, but we have mentioned it anyway) the person with the pfeffer allergy was served an salat with pfeffer. jrk huh: was good. just a piece of **** with something tear, can't do much wrong. scallops prawns absolutely eat the worst I ever had in devon and almost 20 pfund. the garnels were so over cooked that I could not peel them. also the skalopps were overcooked. the meal was just terrible. we mentioned all this to the manager when we went to pay (about £100 for pleasure to eat this) and his attitude was quite literally “good what they want me to do about it?” I never complain. I never write reviews. but that was the hands down, the worst meal I've ever eaten in a restaurant, and it's a big shame as it could be beautiful."
