"My husband and I happened to be on holiday in the area and called in to buy pasties and some cakes for afternoon tea. We queued outside to take our turn, as only two customers were allowed in the shop at a time. We finally entered and purchased a meat pasty, which turned out to be ok, nothing special would have been better off with a Ginsters pasty. We also bought a vegetarian/vegan pastie which proved to be very disappointing, having hardly any filling and rock hard pastry. I might add that the young lady serving was very miserable and offhand. We were about to choose cakes, when her assistant an older lady, at the back of the shop, shouted out to tell one of us to leave, if we were together, as someone else had entered the shop. Surely that person, should have been asked politely, to wait outside like we had! This assistants attitude and manner left a lot to be desired. Anyway, needless to say we didn’t bother to buy any cakes, they didn’t deserve our custom."

As a baker by profession it is possibly the worse bread i have purchased at a premium price. Dry brown bread which I disposed of .

We used this bakery a lot while in burnham on sea , it’s friendly, and the hot food is the best, the cakes are delicious, very clean inside, and very friendly, when back in burnham will be sure to visit View menu

As per my previous reviews, having popped in here a number of times during our most recent visit to Burnham on Sea, it is still my favourite bakery in the area Staff friendly/ Covid19 measures in place, if I lived or worked local, this would be my daily take-out lunch venue,

I stopped by for a loaf and ended up buying two! The garlic and rosemary loaf was amazing, absolutely delicious. Even though my husband usually dislikes marmite (but I love it), the marmite loaf won him over. We'll definitely be back tomorrow for more delicious bread options.

Rock hard and couldn’t even get a fork through it ,. Even tried to give abit of warmth through microwave and still not good gave up trying to eat it .. .. View menu

Anytime we're in Burnham we always pop into Winnie's. The sausage rolls and cheese and onion bread are always great but we decided to try the giant pasty and a corned beef pasty, we wasn't a big fan of these. Felt like there was too much potato in the corned beef and the giant pasty filling texture felt like mush. We didn't have any pudding from here so we cannot comment on that. Even though we wasn't a fan of the pasties we still highly recommend this bakery.

I bought a cherry and coconut cake when I visited the first time, it tasted much better than any of the mass produced cakes that you can buy in the supermarket. I called back the following day and bought two more cakes, lemon drizzle and banana and oat, they were £2.49 each or two for £4.50, haven't tried these cakes yet but if the cherry and coconut is anything to go by should be just as nice. They are a bit more expensive than the ones at the supermarket, but it's definitely worth every penny. If I am treating myself to some cake I don't mind paying a bit extra for something I will enjoy. It's just a shame that I was on holiday and not able to visit more often!

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
