"Appalling customer service and a total lack of respect for the customers! I phoned G&G 13.20 to ensure they were open and still serving food. I was categorically told that if I placed my order by 13.45 we would be served. We arrived approximately 5 minutes later to be told the kitchen had closed. There was no shortage of food or staff, I made the point that I had been promised to be served but no explanation was given. I asked to speak to the manager who, again, couldn’t explain why they had broken their commitment to me. I asked what was the problem/constraint? The ‘manager’ merely said “ there is no need to be rude “ . I asked to clarify how she could accuse me of being rude? She couldn’t think of anything to say apart from “the kitchen is closed”. I said I was very dissatisfied and would reflect this in a review, they were not bothered and said that it wouldn’t impact them as they had been doing ok for the last 5 years. Absolutely appalling and disgraceful in my opinion. I actively search out small local businesses and try to support them, this establishment deserves no support whatsoever. It is interesting that the staff were prepared to spend more time arguing with me than it would have taken them to make us a sandwich! BTW the noticeboard stated closing 3 o’clock. A beautiful sunny bank holiday with many potential customers, why not stop serving early and go home! A strange business model!!! We went to Bluebird café and had great food with fantastic customer service despite the significant number of customers."

"Big Thank you to Tea in the Square!!!! Due to covid the wake we had organised for after my Dads funeral was cancelled very last minute. I phoned the lovely Helen at tea in the square and explained our predicament and they couldn't of been more helpful. Even though Monday was their day off they put together a beautiful afternoon tea and delivered it. After what has been a very testing, emotional and exhausting time, their hospitality was wonderfully welcome. Thank you Ladies! From the Ayre Family"

"I have eaten here a number of times. Today with friends we had a great value brunch with a glass of wine, which was lovely. I had booked a table in advance to ensure we could sit inside if the weather wasn't so good. The sun came out and it proved to be very busy outside, but sitting inside was pleasant and comfortable. Good food and good service as always, so well worth a visit."

"Went for a very special occasion and Ben (front of house) was absolutely outstanding from the second we arrived. It was my parents 60th wedding anniversary and both said that Ben made the whole experience, he’s such an asset to this fabulous little restaurant. We tried a mocktail (secret garden) and the chilli margarita, both delicious. And all courses were beautifully presented and delicious. Couldn’t fault a single thing. All sauces were some of the best we’ve had anywhere, Chef clearly knows what he’s doing! Highly recommend and good value given the quality and quantity of the food, topped off by wonderful service. Thanks for making our special lunch all the more special!"
