"2 stars for the lovely staff. Sorry guys hate leaving poor review for local business as local guests but the scampi was appalling. My daughter 14yrs said exactly same as I was thinking ,it was the worst ever had. Soggy , coating just falling apart, the chips were awful ,all looked thrown on the plate, poor presentation .For £17 it was like a lunchtime lite bite . Other member had crumble pud....lashings of custard advertised.....noticed small little mini sauce boat jug with something congealed inside . As family 80th gathering I didn't make a fuss but we won't be back . Basic low grade cheap pub fare for top dollar price ! Menu very simple and not difficult to get wrong ! I had seen similar review from about a week ago but we gave it the benefit of the doubt ..unfortunately. Food wasn't a patch on the newly refurbished Victoria Menai Bridge or the fabulous Boathouse Red Wharf ...."

The staff was friendly and there was a cozy log fire that was just what we needed on a cold, wet day. The food was simple pub fare, but it was cooked and presented well.

We sat in the left room with 10 people for dinner, including our dog. The food was excellent - I had the lamb wellington and the kids had burgers. The service was great and the atmosphere was lovely, although the bright spotlights in the room could be dimmed to improve the ambiance.

During our visit to Menai Bridge to see friends, we decided to stay overnight at this accommodation and were pleasantly surprised. The location was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and quiet, and the staff were extremely helpful with any concerns we had. The breakfast was also very good.

Absolutely faultless. Our third visit in the last few weeks. Steaks cooked to perfection, chips really are something else. Good real ale and an extensive drinks menu. Have to also mention, the fish and chips we had on a previous visit…cannot recall having better. Highly recommend. Staff are so attentive and friendly. Nothings too much trouble. One of my favourite restaurants. Will be back many times through the summer.

I’ve visited several times over the last couple of years and really liked the ambience, service and quality of the food. I’ve taken lots of visiting friends and they’ve all been impressed. Visited today and it’s a shadow of its former self. No longer greeted by a friendly member of staff who showed you to your table, it was find your own table and order at the bar… The place was pretty empty but I reassured my friend the food was always good. No longer a nice concise menu instead a large pub-style static menu and prices more aligned with a London pub. When our food arrived it was average at best and at £19 for a burger I expected more. It’s clear it’s be bought by a pub chain and has lost al...

"I've been to Dylans in Menai Bridge and always enjoyed it not this time. For the first half of our visit there was a stinging blue haze hanging in the air; the kitchen extractors clearly weren't functioning properly. Fortunately this cleared for the second hour we were there. Now to the service; after taking our drinks orders we waited nearly 15 minutes for them. Later, after staff had passed our empty glasses 20 times, we managed to order some second drinks by catching their attention. The food was the main problem; minuscule starters of crab and Welsh rarebit. My pizza came as a real surprise (as others have mentioned in previous reviews); gone is the thin crusted, well filled pizza of the past. The pizza is now about 20% smaller and my daughter mentioned that it looked like a child's portion. However, the main problem was the total lack of filling; there was a huge gap for at least an inch all round the pizza which was just fluffy dough. There were five tiny mussels on it and when I picked the mussel shells up they were so overcooked the shells turned to carbonised dust. I counted three tiny slices of red chilli. As others have mentioned, I realise the industry is having a hard time the price of the pizzas haven't gone up but the quantity and quality has plummeted and I would rather pay more to enjoy my meal. The pudding order came and was wrong. When the hot cross bun pudding came out it was still only on the wrong side of lukewarm. Don't get me started on the price of a pint of Aspalls £7.25, a price I would expect to pay in London. And before Lisa R replies that they would have replaced a dish, it would have been replaced with a similar disappointing dish....and no one bothered to ask us if everything was OK either during or after the meal anyway."
