"Not far away from Bordeaux lies Cenon, a very beautifuly located village. On one of its hills, there is Ze Rock, a french brasserie, which leads successfully young and ambitious chef Adrien Cachot. My journey with this friendly restaurant began last summer, when with...friends we came to eat a Saturday's lunch. After that time I kept coming back here regularly. I admit that in total, I dined at Ze Rock 6 times (for someone who was living in Bordeaux, Paris and Warsaw it's actually a quiet stunning number), but I never could made up my mind and wright an opinion, until today. Maybe because before I wasn't surprised, I didn't have more information about chef or maybe because the food was just accurate. This time however, after 3 months break, I've visited Ze Rock again and then again and I would have come here two times more if I didn't have my flight to Madrid. Shortly. I was stunned! I didn't expect, that after 3 months Chef and his restaurant could evaluate and change so extremly. In front of me I saw professionallly plated dishes, with equilibrated flavours, beautiful colours and with Chef's special touches of passion. Creativity, good price, beautiful view on Bordeaux, friendly atmosphere, all this today is worth being mentioned and for those who still haven't been here, it's worth being experienced."

Popped in for dinner on a Sunday evening. Restaurant was quiet, but staff were very friendly, once we used a few words of French. Food was very good, but may not suit evryones palet. Not the cheapest place, but we enjoyed it. Would I go...again? If in the area yes, but wouldn't detour for it. If you are in Cenon give it a go

Indeed, this Brasserie-Restaurant located in CENON, a near suburb of Bordeaux, is based on a hill (or rock, the Rocher de Palmer , hence the name Ze Rock offers not only a pleasant place with large amount of greenery in the near surroundings (convenient for children ...but also excellent food and tasty dishes. We appreciated among others lamb and prime rib served for two.

at the arrival we received a warm and friendly reception. this restaurant was highly recommended by the receptionist in our hotel. we both chose the starter who was excellent. for the main course we both chose the T-Knochen à Point....The steak was tasteless and cooked a little more than a-point. the prices are very expensive and I would have liked to pay if the delivery had been on the same level.

We had dinner here twice during a week in the beginning of July and it was a surprise... Housed in an old factory , the decor is clean and not without style. A large patio is used in warm evenings where you can enjoy your meal...overlooking the beautiful garden and the Garonne river in the distance. Ze Rock is a crossing between a gourmet(ish) restaurant and a bistro. And sure enough it is the annex of the Michelin starred restaurant La Cape in Cenon. There is obvious knowledge in the kitchen. Dishes are simple with a concentration on quality. Good selection (moderate number of courses) on the menu and on the wine chart. Very moderate prices very affordable. Recommended.

my wife and I just experienced the best meal of our 5-week European stay! we had a 3 cursor for each 19 euro and between us divided the pumpkin soup/wok fried chicken for escape, we had both the calf for the main course, and the common pear/bread and butter pudding dessert. the kalb was fantastic! the torten were really, really good, and the brot and the butter pudding was divine, but the kalbs was in a class of themselves. If they have the opportunity to do this, please try the kalbs they will not be disappointed! the waiter spoke many different languages (I asked them if they spoke Russian and they said no, but then, as I speak English only, it was only to see what their boundaries were: ....

My wife and I just experienced possibly the best meal of our 5 week European stay!We had a 3-course meal for 19 Euros each and between us shared the pumpkin soup/wok-fried chicken for entree, we both had the veal for the main course, and the shared pear/bread and butter pudding for dessert. The veal was FANTASTIC!
