"We’ve been waiting over an hour for our food. The atmosphere is lovely. The waiter is nice enough with a friendly smile, but hasn’t offered us to refresh our drinks to keep us happy while waiting. Other tables that were seated after us have been...served their meals while we’ve been waiting for ours. Finally served. Food was quite delicious southern German food. I increased my rating to two stars for the food quality. We sat with dirty plates for over twenty minutes while waiting to pay our bill. Didn’t consider dessert because we didn’t want to wait another hour. It looked delicious. Took us almost two hours to be served one course, pay, and leave. It’s become obvious to us that because Europeans don’t work for tips, restaurants don’t care about the quality and timing of service."

The haxe is super crispy. I can only recommend it. The size is the hammer. I can handle a lot, but I have to fight myself. Always happy.

The food is very delicious, we tried the liver cheese (a sharp German meat). The place is also very beautiful, especially the garden outside. We expect to be back.

One of the best pigs I had. Excellent waiters who recommended me very correctly that half the witch was already very big (he was right! And another one who helped me very patiently in speaking German. We'll be back! View menu

Booked a table a day in advance. Arrived on time and waited half an hour to get any attention. Then waitress told us food would take at least an hour. Lots of other diners waiting too. Worst service we’ve seen in town. Needless to say...we left.

We were there at the opening. The typical Bavarian Restaurant has been tastefully re- decorated, food and beer was excellent. Place was totally overrun by curious local regulars as well as guests. Again, a place not to be missed when in Oberstdorf.

Really great if you love it well bourgeois, have a lot of hunger and cosiness is looking for e.g. an extensive hike. Both inside and outside, the wild male is recommended to stay. The menu is extensive and offers a suitable selection for every taste. View menu

Here you will find a wide selection of tasty dishes. The service is attentive and friendly. There is a large terrace and more often life music. Great meeting place in the middle of Oberstdorf. Often quite full, which also speaks for the good kitchen.

We've been served very kindly and nicely, a waiter always had a loose spell on what was very amusing to us. The food was tasty, also the side salad top, as unfortunately it is no longer so often experienced that the individual components are made with dressing. If the entire team acts even more and faster to fill empty glasses, there are 5 stars . We like to come back.

"We loved our evening at Riegers. The service was spot on, really friendly and caring. The atmosphere was wonderful. Slightly modern still keeping the rustic charm befitting the town. We shared flammkuchen for entree....we LOVE flammkuchen so relished the chance! Perfectly crisp base, lovely topping, beautifully cooked and light as a feather. Main was venison for me and cooked to perfection with a lovely reduction sauce, perfectly cooked brussel sprouts and chewy parsnip. Seasonal, fresh and delicious. They served the noodles separately and I was happy for that as the dish didn't need it (in my opinion) the portion size was good as is. Portion sizes in Germany seem enormous! My husband had 200gms of rump steak cooked medium rare (you ask for it cooked "English" to get rare to medium rare in this part of Germany!). This dish was a bit of a let down for three simple reasons easy to correct. The steak was unrested so the blood drained onto the plate and mixed with the sauce to make for a pink look, not ideal. The mushroom sauce itself was just bland and needed a good dose of mushroom taste and acidity. The potatoes served with his dish were a bit oily and not very appetising. Just basic errors which I think were the result of a busy kitchen rather than an overall downfall in the cooking as my venison proved they know their stuff out back. So I would absolutely recommend Riegers. The wine list is small and very well priced, the staff really care and it's a great little restaurant we'd return to if we were staying longer."
