"We called in for lunch at 12.10pm but could not gain access. The sandwich boards etc. were outside advertising lunch was available but all the doors were locked and we could not get in so we returned to our car and phoned them only to be greeted by a message saying no-one was available. I understand that in the best run of businesses emergencies warranting closure can occur but even a hastily written note pinned to the door to let the clientele know would have been better than nothing. We waited for a while in the car park and phoned again but on getting the same response we moved on to lunch elsewhere."

"our third visit in three weeks such a new favorite of ours. the pub was very nicely renovated. the decor is beautiful and creates a soothing relaxed mood. our previous two visits (21 dez. nye) we were blown away from the food, but to this one felt not that eating (sonnay roast) was as extraordinary as before. the frying (I chose bark and my man black) were both very good, but nothing from the ordinary. the waiter who brought them to the table, put them down and went away so that I had to ask for some sauces, this should be a standard question for anyone who ordered the brat. in fairness all around us were asked by talia and the other waitresses, so maybe just a quick refreshment of the young and easily resolved? we will definitely return, although more likely for weekday dinner or dinner or lunch on Saturday than for Sunday dinner. more special thanks to talia that they have looked after us so well (on all three of our visits). talia is very knowledgeable on the menu, is helpful and friendly/willing. a credit to the team."

"Well, where do I start? A very average beer selection, and then it got worse. Very poorly trained waiting staff; noisy, shouting over the dining room and the person behind the bar had zero charisma. The dining room was almost empty at 1500 except for us …….. so why start laying up for breakfast, with chairs pulled noisily across the floor and cutlery etc noisily moved around while we are still eating ? What is really annoying is the food is OK; not great but OK. The small “bowl”, in actuality a deep saucer, of vegetables for 2 was frankly laughable; probably half a carrot, 2 small cauliflower florets, 4 small stems of tender stem broccoli and a tablespoon of cabbage. We when we expressed our surprise we were told it was £3 for an additional portion bear in mind it is £20 for a Sunday roast and we then received a large bowl with about 4 times the initial amount !! Sublime to ridiculous. On the plus side my lamb rump was actually well cooked and the pork, while far from great, wasn’t actually too bad except for the crackling, which promised much but delivered very little. Given how good the plethora of local pubs are, this establishment won’t survive long without seriously upping its game. We wouldn’t return, not in a month of Sundays."

"Lovely ambience,Excellent food and service 10/10 So good we ate both nights here while we were in our hotel at chipping Camden. Before we had even eaten or seen our food on the Monday evening ,we had booked a table for the next evening ….it is a beautiful place ,a real gem . The menu isn’t huge but certainly plenty of choice and portions are good. The staff are attentive and also not pestering you all the while . There is outside dining as well . I think this place should be extended ,as you are best to book as so popular.we fell lucky the first night . There are about 8seating areas indoors ,so very popular . Next time we will just go here to eat as it’s just so clean and lovely ,the food I’ve never had such a fantastic mousakka as I did here …and we’ve been to Greece 17 times .This was just gorgeous. I also like how the chefs are cooking and you can see into the kitchen ..BUT this means you know they are clean and good as they are not afraid for customers to see them preparing . Please give this place a try it really is a gem"

"Gave order. While waiting a man went to complain about the poultry amount of cream with his cream tea. Staff said they’ve never had a complaint about it before. The owner offered more cream which he accepted. When he was back at his table the staff started rolling their eyes , laughing and one of them held their little finger up and made a gesture with it. In the meantime we were still waiting for our coffee and scone and canned drink. I went to staff and said I wanted a refund as I was still waiting. She looked at receipt and said you’ve only been waiting 9 minutes! My order was only one coffee, one scone and a canned drink. This was hardly a big cooking job. They had a further complaint as I was leaving another customer wanted to know why he hadn’t had his order."

"I pop in every now and then as I work in Cirencester, often they have a nice soup of the day. This visit was the first time I took my family along, including our 4yr old. I hadn’t noticed before, but they have a little shelf with crayons and games to keep little ones entertained. The food has always been very good, all sandwiches and paninis freshly made, they have a great selection of hot and cold drinks etc. What really impressed me was how brilliant all the staff were with our daughter, she loved the food and everyone was very kind when she wondered up to the till by herself to ask for more cheese for her Jacket potato. The kids menu is really reasonably priced and we had a fantastic lunch as a family."
"This cafe is situated at the back of the Corn Hall Market, which is off the main shopping street. It can get very busy, this was the first time we were able to get a table as it is very popular with locals and visitors alike. We had peppermint tea, although there was a wide range of drinks available as well as cakes, sandwiches etc. the table next to us had very appetising bacon sandwiches. It’s accessible to prams and wheelchairs. Order at the counter and it’s brought to your table. Toilets are downstairs."

"A nice pub in a beautiful location. On a good day it benefits by having a nice outdoor seating area where you can eat under cover . Food, rather expensive, we dropped in for a quick lunch time bite and their Fish and chips were £19.00 each. Firstly let me say the food was excellent however be aware they automatically add a 12.5% Service Charge. The Outdoor seating area was full so we sat indoors. I had paid for our drinks at the bar when we arrived so was surprised that our two fish chips now came to £42.75 which included a £4.75 Service Charge. We had in effect paid £4.75 to have our fish and chips walked 10ft from the Kitchen to our table. Whilst I am happy to tip for good service when ordering food I believe It is normal to have it walked to the table and this should not be an extra charge. We have a high minimum wage in this country and as far as I am aware staff are not dependant on tips. Also when the bill came they had included the drinks I had already paid for at the bar when we had arrived but these were removed when I queried it. So to end this review. A lovely Pub in a beautiful spot rather taking advantage of its location perhaps. Food good but expensive but beware the Service Charge. I won't be returning."

"Quaint and so warm feeling New England Coffee was an experience from start to finish The entrance, gives that warm old tea house feel! We were greeted by the most friendly and professional team members, who took our order and even suggested a room to sit in to enjoy our coffee I only took 1 picture, but know this place can seat numerous people. (Also bathroom very big) The atmosphere was complemented by the tasteful coffee (in the photo a flat white and peach tea) We will go out of our way to go again when next in the area Thank you, and any coffee/tea/treat lover reading this should make it a priority to visit and enjoy"

"While visiting the gardens we called for lunch. Lunch is served 12.00 -2.30pm. It is not very clear that you order at the counter, queue’s build up because the same counter is used to make your drinks and serve cakes. We ordered and our meals were brought to our table quickly. My husband chose the jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise, I had the jacket potato with cheese and our daughter the Quiche, new potatoes and coleslaw. We then had scone and jam and coffee and hazelnut cake. All of our meals and cakes were very fresh. There is a small amount of indoor seating and some seating outside. It is very small considering it’s popularity."

"I rung up to order for collection and was greeted by someone who has seemingly never communicated over the phone before. Here is how the conversation went: Hello Hi. Can I order ahead please? What? Can I order ahead please? WHAT? Can you hear me? Yes I said can I order ahead please *Hangs up* It seems that they thought that I was prank calling them and wanted to order a head. I struggle to believe that no one has ever done this before. When we did manage to order and went to collect, they had missed part of our order and got part of it wrong we realised this once we got home, 15 minutes away, so not worth returning. There is no point being able to order over the phone if you can 't get the orders right."

"Went here for breakfast. Such lovely friendly and helpful lady who was more than happy to accommodate my request for a 'dry ' Cappuccino.... with most places it always turns into a lengthy explanation of not wanting such a milky Cappuccino. She listened, which most places don 't and did our coffee and it is THE best coffee we have had anywhere for a very long time. We put in our order and again I had some requests.... very crispy bacon, hard fried egg etc. She took all this on board with such loveliness. This really was such a wonderful change to the majority of cafe owners/staff. It felt like she really valued our custom rather than just taking it for granted as other places do. The breakfast was EXACTLY as requested and really good. The prices too are excellent. What really made a big difference for us was that at the time, there was no music playing or radio on, and it was so lovely and quiet and peaceful. Just what you want for a relaxing breakfast...... just before we left though, she put the radio on, but at least we got to eat ours in peace. This is not local to us but if ever in Cirencester again this is definitely where we will go again"

"Rebooked the garden room at the Dormy House while staying nearby at the Fish Hotel. The setting was very warm and inviting, and overall the food was very good. However, the service was severely lacking and left us bewildered by the exoerience. Given the thoughtful and extensive wine list, we were delighted to see one of our favourite blends from South Africa on the menu. After ordering, and about 15 minutes later, the server returned to say there was an error and they put the wrong varietal on the list and wanted to serve us a completely différent wine from that producer. We ordered a different bottle in line with the food we ordered. However, our appetisers came before our wine did. Another 15 minutes of waiting (we are now 30 minutes into our dinner with no wine) and the waiter comes back with another bottle saying they have lost our bottle but for us to drink this instead while we wait. No explanation, and not even showing us the wine she poured. That was the last we saw of our waiter as somehow the room got busy and she took take of the other guests for the rest of the evening. We eventually got our wine, which was brought to the table opened without the cork. Strange practice unbecoming a restaurant of this caliber. When we finished our dessert, we struggled for 20 minutes to get any server to acknowledge us or clear our plates. So we went to the server station to ask for the bill. We watched our server work at at least seven different tables before we had to go up and ask a second time. When the bill came, the server didn’t even ask us how our dinner was. We gave our credit card and the other server took it away mumbling. She returned 10 min later to say she lost the connection. She handed us back the card and cancelled processing statement, and said she wasn’t able to charge our card. She didn’t know what to do and asked if maybe we deal with it at the reception (even though we are not guests of the hotel) Will not return."

"Nice place but we visited on a cold day and and if you weren’t seated directly in front of the open fire it was chilly in the restaurant . Also some of the food needed to be hotter than served. And I totally disagree with the service charge, on our bill it was £30 thank goodness it was discretionary the service certainly didn’t live up to that high charge. That should be removed entirely and left at the customers discretion. Kind of changed the mood of the lunch which was a shame."

"I made a reservation for the evening and decided to dine out instead of cooking. It wasn't necessary to reserve a table as there was only one other table occupied, so the ambiance wasn't great. Despite there being only two tables, I expected the server to remember our starters, but unfortunately, he forgot. He apologized when bringing them out with the main course, but it was still disappointing. The food was good, but there are more appealing restaurants nearby, so I wasn't in a rush to return. I would recommend this place more for lunch. Overall, it had a slightly melancholic atmosphere as if it wasn't clear why it was open for dinner service."

"We asked if they could do a vegan pizza, but was informed by the front-of-house waitress they could do, if we didn’t order the cheese. They didn’t have any vegan pizzas on the menu; they were unwilling to do one; and the waitress was unwilling to check with the chef. "Went to this pub during summer with my friends. Mind you we are a group of 6 'colored ' people of different shades and ethnicities, and probably the only ones as such at the time we went. When we came in, we were completely ignored, not even a smile or a hello. It was a little bit packed so we chose a table in the corner that was seated for 5, and since there were six of us, we took a chair from the next table with full intention of explaining to the waiter when they 'd come to take our order and we were even thinking if we could request a proper table if available. Instead, one of the staff shouted at us that we cant take the chair and put it back where it belongs. We were speechless and shocked, so we left immediately and as we were leaving, the whole restaurant was staring at us and the staff were giving us the side eyes. Absolutely humiliating experience, as it was our first time in Cotswolds. It did dampen our mood until we managed to find a better and friendlier pub nearby."

"This is rather overdue as I promised the Plough I would write them a glowing review after an excellent meal a few weeks ago. The pub has been transformed into rather up market food but in a very relaxed manner. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress thereafter taken care of by Harrison, who through out made sure we were happy with our food and wine. The food was excellent, the owners I think use a lot of smokery with the cooking of their food. We both had the pork ribs that were smoked to perfection, probably the best ribs I've ever had, the portion of rib was two big ones, I had to take one of mine with me. It was served with light veg and salad making it not too heavy. If you're not in Cirencester it is easy to get to and easy parking, well worth the drive to find it, it's only a mile or less from the town centre. Will be back very soon."
"We were in the area on a family holiday and found this amazing dog friendly Indian restaurant/pub by chance while out for a dog walk. We had a chat with the owner while we got a drink and looked at the menu, we asked if he could make a Balti as it wasn’t on the menu which he said was not a problem, so we decided to go back the next night for a meal. The Balti was the best we have ever had (without exaggeration) others in our party of 5 had other dishes and were also equally impressed with the quality and taste of the food. The cost was reasonable and the staff were brilliant. The only issue is we live so far away, but will definitely be going back when we are next in the area. If you are in the area this is a place you must visit if you like curry."
