"My husband used to come to this pub 60 years ago when he came from Swindon with his father to fish the nearby river. They were able to buy a fishing permit for the day in the pub. Today, we returned for his 75th birthday. Obviously, the pub looks a bit different from how it looked 60 years ago but it has been very sympathetically renovated and extended and is decorated in a pleasing style. The food was lovely. We are both very fond of Indian food and each enjoyed a 3 course meal. The dishes were not heavy or too much, as can be the case. It is not often that we eat 3 courses these days. We will definitely be returning. We had booked our table in advance. Given the review before mine, it seems a good idea to book for the evening, especially with a large party. Booking online is easy."

Popped in for a drink… roaring fire, friendly host, dog friendly.. treats given for free..Didn’t stay for food but the curry looked delicious. Will defo go for food on our next trip

We were staying in an air bnb local to this pub and we were thrilled with the food, the service and the hospitality of the owners here. Will definitely re visit. We even ordered food to take home with us the next day.

Absolutely amazing venue to celebrate a birthday or anniversary but equally perfect for just a nice drink and great atmosphere… highly recommend it here, always a positive experience coming here… would recommend it to everyone….

We enjoyed a fantastic Easter Sunday afternoon meal here. The location and venue are ideal. The manager and staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel very much at home. The service was ideally paced being unhurried and accomodating. The food was exceptional, perfectly spiced and presented with a fine attention to detail. I would strongly recommend this restaurant and look forward to our next visit.

This is the best Indian food you will ever eat… it’s delicious! The service is first class, all the staff are amazing and so friendly! Make you feel very welcome… the food is outstanding.. cannot fault in any way.. this is our new ‘go to’ place… the traditional pub feel with something very special! don’t think we’ll eat authentic Indian food anywhere else again.. simply amazing… I’d recommend it here for everyone… first class in every way… thank goodness we found it so soon after we moved this way.
