"I have not been to a Marstons pub that has been soo cleaned, welcoming and rewarding before. We came for lunch and drinks. The hostess was welcoming, well mannered and presentable. The food options were great, reasonably priced and tasted even better. I would highly recommend and I will definitely be back again. Thanks to all of the staff, I hope you get to read this review."

"Location: The three eagles is easy to find in the town centre, about 1 minute walk from the bridge. There is no parking on the streets immediately surrounding it. Disabled access: with outside booths, ground floor bar and restaurant, access should be possible for most....Staff: all the staff were young, friendly and efficient. It was strangely reassuring to see them all in the same uniform. Pros: Food and drinks were all reasonably priced. We had the Sunday lunch (beef or roast of the day or mixed). Great to see a mixture of different vegetables instead of the usual peas and carrots. This had cabbage, mashed root veg, roast potatoes and a bowl of cauliflower cheese. Delicious. The meat was plentiful and very tasty. There’s also a very mixed and interesting menu, so something for every Cons: The the meal is served with the gravy on. Why? If you serve an average amount, then statistically most people will think it’s either too much or too little (we found it too much). So serve it separate and let everyone give themselves the amount they want. Secondly, they add a 7% gratuity onto the bill automatically. They shouldn’t. They should let us decide if the food and service warrant it (it did, but that’s not the point). They shouldn’t put people in the awkward position of having to ask to not pay. Wifi: yes. Definitely worth trying and we will visit again the next time we’re passing through."

"I am a regular visitor to this Llangollen shop and often visit during the morning I always have a giggle and a laugh with the ladies who are always smiling and happy to help). Today, I was running late thus decided to run in during the lunch time rush. As the shop was busy I stood back and watched as the ladies rushed around to complete orders, prep food, ensure there was enough food on display and make sure everyone was being served in the order they come into the shop while reman polite with a smile on there face for each customer. Never have I been shocked at the ill treatments of these ladies trying to do there job. I was utterly shocked at the verbal abuse these ladies where having to listen to, the lack of manners people where displaying. Shame on you all! When it came to my turn, the two ladies serving painted a smile and tried to remain undetected by what had happened. Sadly, I think that this occurrence is a one of. Thank you ladies for all that you do. Please know that you are all valued and appreciated."

"Been here a few times now out of desperation for food and short lunch breaks! The red haired woman behind the counter is a thief that tries to charge you more every time amd says it’s a mistake! They also charge 50p to use your card! I have never been in there and took away chips in under 15 minutes she always says the chips are ready until she gets your money! She is rude and ruins the experience as soon as you walk in and see her! The best thing about the place is the young girl on the till she know what she is doing and is polite and gets the job done just a shame the old woman can’t cook chips! Rip off and waste of time! Highly recommend the butchers or flowerpot cafe rather than here stay away"

"We order from this restaurant every week. Unfortunately, they made a mistake with our order tonight. When we called to inform them, they tried to charge us again. After speaking to their boss, they called us back to say they couldn't honor what we ordered. When we asked to speak to the boss directly, they said he wouldn't come to the phone. Sadly, after being loyal customers for years, we have lost our business with them for good over a £9 mistake."
"The Lodge is a local legend known for its high-end ladies fashion business and charming café. However, what really sets it apart is the quality of their offerings. Recently, they have added SeaSalt and another luxurious clothing brand to their collection, making it a great place to shop while enjoying a cappuccino. The staff is helpful and attentive. The menu at The Lodge is excellent, with their Welsh rarebit being a standout dish that has kept customers coming back for at least 35 years. The cakes, bread, and salads are always beautifully prepared and delicious. While the dessert selection was a bit overwhelming, a simple fruit salad option would be a nice addition. The scones are a must-try. Overall, The Lodge is a reliable stop on the road between Ruthin and Denbigh for a satisfying meal and shopping experience."

"Like many other people, my wife and I were amazed by the great reviews for the food and service at this relatively small restaurant in Llandrillo. We were staying in Corwen, the night before going to a wedding, and we were very lucky indeed to get a table for 8pm. We were not disappointed Caroline and Chris are both very welcoming, attentive and the food is simply stunning (and the wine was great too). Chris is a magician! He really is brilliant at what he does. He is so thorough and he has clearly spent many years honing his craft – there is so much attention to detail. If you (and your family and friends) like good food, then this is the place to go! The flavours, textures, temperatures and presentation of the food are all excellent. The size of the portions are really good and sensible and the relatively low prices are amazing (especially considering the very high standard of the cuisine and service). We’ve eaten out twice recently, one in a city restaurant and the other in a country pub. We paid much more for each course and while the food was good it was not as good as that served at the Berwyn Restaurant. This restaurant is very highly recommended but, we were lucky, book in advance to avoid disappointment!"

"What a lovely experience for my 30th birthday! There was a lot of us too but that wasn’t an issue for them at all. The service was absolutely fantastic all night, a lovely team! With only one chef, naturally there was a slight delay on food but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was so good, it all came piping hot and everyone really enjoyed it, no complaints at all! The staff had even added some chocolates, wine and a little note for my birthday which I thought was such a lovely surprise. All of the staff were so nice! I will definitely be going back there again and I absolutely recommend it for any occasion! I’d give more stars if I could. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff, for making my birthday special!"

"Service was slow but once we ordered the food was soon brought to the table amazing food really enjoyed it .then I needed to go to the ladies which were disgusting the seats didn't fit right so couldn't sit the toilet still had the blue stuff sprayed in and the toilet brush had that much dust on it it hadn't been used for twelve month or more after ask to speak to the manager he was very reluctant to come and see us and as we were leaving w I spoke to him he was duty manager for the evening and I have never met such a rude person in my life while covid has been going on and the state of his toilets so bad he wasn't bothered at all he should be ashamed off the state of the loos it makes me wonder what the rest of the restaurant behind the scenes is like not going there ever again"

"If you’re looking for beautifully home cooked Sunday lunch then give the Dudley Arms a visit. Although we live on the coast the drive to the Dudley Arms is a picturesque one in amongst beautiful scenery. On arrival you get a warm welcome, attentive service and beautifully cooked food. We had a roast beef and toast lamb mix that melted in your mouth with delicious gravy and there was a range of desserts that were so delicious it was difficult to just choose one. We all had something different but everyone was as delicious as the next. The Dudley Arms also has luxurious accommodation should you wish to spend a few days exploring the wonderful surroundings. Will definitely try that next time."

"“Appalling” 16 May 2023 Hard to believe the fact that you expect hot food to be too much for them to handle! Read enclosed, in response to a complaint Date of visit: May 2023. I wrote a complaint about the manager who after I was asked if my food was ok (approx 30 min after finishing most of my food, I said yes but the side dish was too cold to eat. I was subjected to the manager telling me my expectations were too high?! I said, expecting hot food to be hot is too high an expectation?? Yes he replied. I wrote to the head office and the following is taken from their email: “the manager has banned you from this pub as you were abusive, this decision will not be overturned”. laughably, I was in the large hall when I spoke to him and I had family with me, I was not abusive, as others would have heard. I actually asked him to record the discussion to protect me and him. His attitude was unprofessional and uncalled for and I’d be interested to hear if the footage that actually recorded the conversation was submitted to the head office.. I would not recommend this place to anyone, there are better eateries with nicer staff nearby."

"A party of 8 had, as some of them said on the night, the best tasting food they'd ever had'. Chips were to die for and the grilled sea bass done to perfection. A great touch: a mini-dessert with a tea/coffee at the end. Clever...idea. Service immaculate and very friendly. All in all, a wonderful evening was had by all 8 of us. Thank you"

"My wife and I visited St. Asaph to see the cathedral and stumbled upon Jacob's Ladder based on some random reviews. We both enjoyed Welsh rarebit with ham, salad, and homemade pickles. It was a delicious and filling meal. This restaurant is one of the friendliest and most welcoming places I have been to in a long time. The relaxed atmosphere and great maintenance make it a place worth recommending to others and definitely worth a visit. A true hidden gem. Thank you for a great experience."

"I have visited King Kebab a few times and each time has been disappointing. I ordered a doner kebab wrap with all the salad and chillies, but when I got home, I found cheese on it! Who puts cheese on a doner kebab wrap? When I went back to have it corrected, the lady working there gave me a hard time, insisting that I had ordered cheese. I vowed never to return. A few months later, I decided to give it another chance and ordered another doner kebab wrap with chillies. When I picked it up, I confirmed with the girl that it had chillies on it. But when I got home and took a bite, I realized there were no chillies. This place is completely incompetent! I do not recommend it if you want chillies!"

"My family raved about how brilliant The Best was so we thought we would give it ago!! Let's just say we will not be getting from there again! Considering we live 2 mins away it the food was warm, I had a combi kebab 2...diff meats, I opened the box and it was half empty, a small handful of lettuce and cabbage no tomato or cucumber , a drizzle of garlic sauce and a thin wrap which was chewy! Wasnt worth the 7.60 I paid!! OH got a calzone, it was tasty but only warm! So needless to say we were disappointed and wont be ordering again!"

"We have eaten many times at the Terrace since it opened and it seems to be sliding down on each visit. When it first opened we enjoyed the tapas style. We also eat out 2/3 times each week in top class restaurants but when visiting the NT it is easier to eat on site. The bread is poor, they defiantly need to change their supplier. The olive dip with dry crackers and breadsticks was horrible. The hot food came cold and we did not even try a fish dish on this occasion as they were so disappointing last time. We paid £65 and concluded that we would only order a glass of wine and the cheese platter if we find ourselves here again but suspect next time we will bring a sandwich to eat in the foyer."

"Went randomly to the Ffrith last week. The food was honestly really good. I had a chicken and bacon salad, kids had fish and chips, parents had gammon and pie. It was really decent quality, nice big portions, not at all greasy. The bar girl(long dark hair) was super friendly and the manger was nice and helpful. We actually went back for a second time and again weren’t disappointed. Steak, chicken wrap and sausage abs mash. Yummy! Affordable and comfortable."

"It was our first time at Dee Pizza as we were staying nearby. All I can say is wow! The garlic bread with cheese and the vegetarian hot pizza was absolutely spot on. Freshly baked and was served piping hot. I would say it was the best Pizza I’ve ever had. It was so good that we went back again with a few days. Even our young kids (9 and 6) approved. The taste, the freshness of the ingredients it’s addictive. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. If I could rate them more than 5* I would. We will be back again. Thank you!"

"This is a very lovely pub with fires in both rooms. The girls who served us were very friendly and the food was really good with large portions. But sadly they didn't have any gf bread which they said they did , so I couldnt haven't any of the starters I wanted which was all I wanted to eat. Also we were charged £2.50 for a hot water with lemon which I felt was very steep (which I have never bn charged for be4 anywhere else). Its a shame as we had to argue to take this off the bill and the attitude we got from the manger was shocking. Its really sad as I would recommend this place on lots of levels but because of having to argue about the lemon which was very short sighted of her as we definitely would have gone back and as my friend lives close she would of gone back too. If money is an issue I suggested charging for the cauliflower cheese as this is an added bonus people would pay extra for. I wish you well but dropping the attitude will help alot with your customer facing business."
