"We visited on Sunday afternoon specifically for their renowned roast dinners, but were informed by the manager that they were not available due to ongoing building work on the kitchen and installation of a wood floor. However, we were informed about live musicians performing at the bar later that evening, so we decided to return. We had a wonderful time listening to traditional singing accompanied by guitar, banjo, and saxophone. There was a great selection of British beers, as well as a few choices of Scotch Whisky and gin. The bartender was courteous and efficient, and the bar itself was clean, comfortable, and inviting. Thank you very much for a lovely evening."

"We have been going to the Town Fryer for a number of years and although it says I went in September I actually go about one a month/6 weeks, travel 6 miles to get there because it is the best around, the portions are more than adequate and often struggle to finish fish chips and gravy, also the prices are the best around bar none, there are places which are £9+ for a fish dinner of the same size so like I said unbeatable value, if you have any doubts there's only one way to find out and that's go and see for yourself how good it is and thank me later."

"We were recommended this Chinese restaurant and decided to go for our final holiday meal. We booked a table for 8 o’clock to allow us 2 hours to eat our meal the restaurant closed at 10 o’clock). On arrival we were asked to wait as the restaurant was extremely busy. They had obviously taken on too many bookings as it was very chaotic. We we’re sat down 30minutes after arriving The food and service during the beginning of our meal was fine. However as it approached closing time staff began cleaning the restaurant and shouting at each other. At this point we had only just been served our main course) . I asked to speak to the manager regarding the unprofessional behaviour of staff. The reply was “ we always shout to each other like that! “ she then proceeded to confirm this by asking one of her colleagues to confirm that this was the way they always acted towards each other. In the end we decided to take our food home with us to eat it in piece there. The manager agreed to take our drinks of the bill. It just spoilt what should of been a lovely evening."

"my wife and I visited thebigh, and how most people wanted a nice snack and a drink. the glass is swashed around a back brand, but it's beautiful. my wife had one of the omelets and I went for a chicken bap, with cranberry and stuffed both are excellent. the caffe is a sunfall with sitting facilities inside and outside on the front. the service was warm and welcoming, the eating was fresh and tasty. the tables and the equipment were beautiful and clean and well presented. what could you want more? we will return."

"I recently had a baby shower at this restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend this place for baby showers and other small gatherings, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The interior and exterior of the restaurant are both beautiful."

"I have been there with 1 Friend of Mine and idk maybe we was just 2 people the Food wasn't that what i expected. Maybe i felt how it looked from OUTSIDE it must be that good from INSIDE but was a lil bit dissapointed. I must mention that the other elements such as the meat and vegetables, were satisfactory. It is my hope that the establishment takes feedback like this into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience in the future. After my experience i will Update my FEEDBACK from OKT/23."

"Visited Sat 23rd Dec 23, first thing to say is young lady behind the bar and young waitress serving us were eabsolutely lovely. Ordered a rump steak for myself and Mexican chicken burger for my wife. My steak arrived and was so tough not only could I not eat it, I couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife! The onion rings were so overcooked they shattered when I cut into them, peppercorn sauce was obviously from a packet and full of MSG, chips were delicious! When the older “head waitress” asked if everything was ok I said no it wasn’t, that my steak was tough as old boots, she said wasn’t it cooked to my liking and i showed her you couldn’t cut it with a steak knife, she offered to “change it” I said no thanks I didn’t want to wait for a replacement to be cooked. I have eaten hundreds of steaks, I know rump is not the tenderest of cuts but should at least be edible. She said she would let the chef know. I’m sure this lady is an institution in the place but obviously not employed for her sunny disposition, scintillating personality or people skills in general! Anyway I left 90% of my meal. My wife chicken burger thing was tasteless and had the consistency of cardboard! The prices were very reasonable but obviously achieved by using poor quality ingredients and management who care little about customer satisfaction. When my wife went to pay our bill, there was no apology or reduction, in fact throughout the whole process we never heard the word “ sorry” although disgusted with the “head waitress’s attitude, having had a particularly stressful week at work, she couldn’t be bothered haggling so paid the bill in full and left. We will never visit again and actively discourage anyone else from doing so."

"I visited this cafe due to being early for a meeting and I fancied a coffee. I walked in and sat down, after a good 10 minutes of being ignored I was asked what do you want from a member of staff with no smile, no friendly tone to her voice. My coffee came, I wasn 't offered any sugar, milk etc. When I had finished my coffee I took the cup up to the till to save them collecting it from the table, again I was ignored by the till for a good 5 minutes, I paid the bill, there was no thank you or smile. As a paying costumer I don 't expect rudeness from any of the staff and I was quite disgusted to be honest, maybe a customer care course would be beneficial for the staff at this cafe, it costs nothing to be nice and have manners. I will not be returning and I would advise against going to this cafe."

"Stayed for three nights for our 47th wedding anniversary, our room was clean and serviced daily. Nice crisp bed linen and fresh towels, a lot of money has been spent on refurbishment and there is still work to do. Lovely flowers outside and the views from our balcony were stunning, you must book a room with a balcony as the others back on to the canal. The restaurant does not serve an a,la carte menu, but the food we had was lovely and we enjoyed it. Parking was a problem, i feel that the limited parking spaces by the Hotel should be for staying guests only as the other car park is a bit of a route march and not suitable for those who have difficulty walking. All in all it was a most enjoyable stay but those of us with a more mature figure could do with a Kingsize bed."

"What a lovely pub with delicious home cooked food, we dropped in here for lunch and were not disappointed, great friendly staff and excellent food, we were told about this by a friend and can highly recommend this place if you are in the area. We visited mid week and the weather wasn't the best and I can imagine that it will be really busy when the weather improves and you can have the benefit of eating al fresco with stunning views over the river that is literally a stones throw away. Even saying that it was still well attended in overcast showery conditions a testament to the quality of the food and drink on offer, the service was very good and we only waited a few minutes for the food to arrive, I certainly enjoy my food and I had the Beef and ale pie while my wife had the lasagne both highly recommended, there is a good selection of dishes to choose from and we will certainly be returning in the future."

"The food at this restaurant was average, but our dining experience was marred by an incident in the open kitchen. We were seated right next to the pass and observed the chef using a dirty tea towel to wipe surfaces and plates. Some diners complained and the chef reacted by shouting and swearing at the customers. Eventually, he stormed out after a heated argument. The young staff tried to apologize for his behavior, but it was clear that there was no one in charge. We appreciated that 20% was deducted from our bill, but unfortunately we will not be returning to Trefnant."

"I'd give 4 1/2 if I could, The place was lovely and reasonably priced, the pizzas were nice but I have defiantly had better at that price. The Calamari wasn't the best, very greasy so I wouldn't order again but for the price point it was all probably about right. I would definitely recommend as it's always hard to find somewhere decent in touristy places and I would return and may before we head home."

"Thursday evening in Asha’s, really nice food. Myself and my husband walked in and the smell was amazing! We were greeted by the waiter who welcomed us in and sat us down at a table. We chose the meal for two and a J20 for me. My husband took his own lager as you can take your own drinks. The menu was spotlessly clean. We decided to order the set meal for two. Nice fresh, warm poppadoms to start, with a choice of about six dips served in spotless silver bowls. The starters was a mixed starter consisting of a lovely big fresh homemade onion bhaji, a perfectly cooked tender piece of chicken tandoori breast, lamb tikka, salad and lemon wedge, it was all so fresh. For the main course we opted for the lamb Jalfrezi and chicken passanda, pilau rice and a garlic and coriander naan. Never tried passanda before and it was lovely and creamy with a mild sweet taste, really nice, lamb Jalfrezi was tasty too. The naan bread was perfectly done with plenty of fresh coriander and garlic, nice and crispy, fresh from the oven. We tried a scoop each of the Kulfi ice cream, original and mango, so nice. We will definitely be visiting again as we weren’t rushed at all here and it was a lovely relaxing evening with first class food. Respect to all of the team at Ashas in Rhyl."

"Went for afternoon tea with my wife, using an 'experience ' voucher from a well known site, costing £35.99 absolute disaster! The description said 'sit down in the sophisticated dining room and tuck into a section of finger sandwiches, tantalising cakes, pastries, macarons and scones with clotted cream and jam. You won 't want this afternoon to end! ' Trust me, we could not get out of their quick enough and go and find somewhere to get something to eat. The sophisticated dining room was a large, cold room with only a couple of other diners, sticky wooden tables, with no table cloths, just a flimsy paper napkin and a knife and fork. We ordered a coffee and a tea, which came in the smallest teapot, I have ever seen. Later in the meal, when we asked for another drink, we were told that was extra and were charged another £5.70. The food was nothing like as described or pictured on the website. A sad looking selection of sandwiches four quarters each of thin sliced bread one containing a very small piece of processed ham, a second mashed up egg, third was some sort of fish, not sure if it was salmon or tuna; and finally some sort of green leaf with something wet on top it looked like the sandwich had been made days earlier and then sat upon! No pastries or macarons but the two scones with clotted cream and two little pots of jam were OK, however the remaining small cakes were dreadful, none of them were fresh there were two eclairs that were inedible, either the cream or chocolate was off and they were very dry; two little red velvet cakes, which again were dry and horrible; and finally two small pieces of carrot cake that were the least objectionable but again very dry. When we told the waitress the eclairs, she said she would tell the chef but no offer of an alternative. True, it was an unforgettable experience, but not in the way we had expected! We have had afternoon teas in top hotels, pubs, cafes and well known garden centres and nothing came close to being as bad as this meal. Needless to say we will never return and would strongly advise caution if anyone is thinking of going here."
"Yesterday evening, with my man, without moment. we, where I sat right away, I was a little cool and asked to table after a few to another, as it was ready to eat. the waitress was more than happy to pick up my question and clean the table immediately for us, even they thought where pretty busy. we chose the festive menu, even thought I had sent my heart set from there moreish lamb. And I was not disappointed, we had the pate and sausage roll and the burger and a turkey keeper the main thing where amazing and we both fought to every mouthful in. we, where we cracker and party-poppers gave us, which we immediately showed up. these have really added us to our experience and get us in the festive, nice touch boys! we couldn't resist the crumb and cheesecake, I couldn't finish my cheesecake, because my mouth was in agonie with all the food I had eaten, it was so delicious, even though she wounded it, so I could take it home. we finished our night with glowing wine, which was a great note with a cute orange cut on the side. service was great as always and the man deserves credit, she recognizes us, although we did not have the opportunity to visit in 6 months, she is always friendly and the hands on the staff. Many thanks for a nice eating happy Christmas if we don't see them before, but I'm sure they will, as I need a second try in the festive menu."

"Ordered a takeaway last night, really disappointing again!! We had a sit in meal about 5 years ago and we thought it was very nice, but oh no they are not good at takeaway at all.....(Every takeaway we've had from here rubbish, ordered a chop suey roll one time ,was packed full of Julienne carrots! Disgusting thru in the bin!! ...Collected in time they said, only to be disgusted at what was basically a badly presented meal. Chicken balls nights before and reheated in microwave no doubt! Couldn't get a spoon thru them let alone my teeth! Spare ribs were not as I ordered came in a cardboard container ,inside was a soggy lettuce leaf with watery sugar and dehydrated ribs, with no meat on, inedible!! Looks like they took it off someone's plate in the restaurant and palmed it off on me! Sweet and sour water! Rice like a brick! Waste of hard earned cash thru in the bin!! Needless to say they have lost our custom and will never recommend to anyone. Had to give 1 star because it is required, but no star is more like it!"
"Stayed one night to attend party in village hall. I’m (fairly) local originally from Holywell so know this area is very pretty and scenic with great walks and I can imagine this would be an excellent base for a walking holiday. Room very comfortable bed and duvet extremely comfy!! Nice facilities. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Must think of a reason to come back with my wife. Breakfast excellent too Rooms: 5"

"We came here tonight as it had been recommended to us. We were not dissapointed. I am vegetarian so I started with garlic mushrooms serve on a puri bread, really succulent and tasty. For my main course I had a mixed vegetable dansack and a chipati. The vegetables were fresh and not overcooked, the chipati was freshly made and cooked, it made me realise how poor the usual offerings are at other Indian restaurants. My wife started with prawn puri and she chose a chicken curry with ginger, mint and spices. Delicious. Very helpful and attentive staff can highly recommend this establishment."

"Since my last visit, the place has had a refurbishment, and looks a lot better, although I didn't mind the way it was before. This is a pub I have visited before whilst in the area for walks. I always enjoyed it's unchanged and old fashioned feeling, with the quietness and a cheap basic pub meal. The things I once enjoyed may well have gone for ever now, although I can understand that the business has to make money and therefore what I like might not be what everyone else wants. I can't comment on food, as we didn't eat, but we did look at a menu, because our child was hoping for a something to eat. Sadly, all that appeared to be on offer was Sunday Roast. No portions of chips or kid type meals on offer. We bought drinks in any case, and noted that the pub was very busy, though we managed to get a table right in front of the entrance door. As it was a freezing cold day, I got an icy draught every time someone entered the pub which was frequently, as the place was buzzing. There was a fireplace behind me too, but it has no fire in it. The choice of beers/lager did not enthrall us either no craft ale, and the lager was Kronenbourg. We wanted a quiet relaxing pint, but realized that we'd picked the wrong pub, and perhaps the wrong day. It's probably quieter on a Saturday? So, if you're looking for a smartly refurbished pub with a great Sunday lunch and you like lots of buzz, then you may love this place. If you like a quiet relaxing pint of decent beer/lager and more choice of things to eat on the menu, don't come on a Sunday."

"Me and my grandma decided to visit loggerheads as she hadn’t been in a while and we we hoping to enjoy a drink and sandwich outside in the sun. When we arrived the queue was out the door and it seemed the cafe was severely understaffed. We waited in the queue for around 20 minutes before being served. The cakes and sugar cubes were being surrounded by wasps from outside. We ordered a tea, iced coffee and 2 sandwiches (avoided the wasp cakes) which came to a huge £21.10. The tea was way too strong (pouring out black) and only a tiny amount of milk was given. We were told the coffee would be brought to us along with the sandwiches. We sat outside in the sun and when our sandwiches arrived we were rudely told we couldn’t sit on the table we were sitting on as it was too far on the grass area (about 30m) and all other seats outside were either taken or overrun by wasps. We then decided to sit inside. There was no coffee brought to the table so we then had to ask for them to make it again. It was served in a plastic ice cream sundae dish with about 70% of it being ice. My grandma asked a kind worker (seemed to be from Liverpool) if she could have a new tea and she was absolutely lovely and happily fetched a new one. She was probably the only pleasant worker we spoke to. The sandwiches were on really thick bread with a dark and thick stem salad. There was no cutlery provided which we had to ask for again. We felt rude having to push in the queue just to keep asking for things we hadn’t been given. We were both in agreement that we wouldn’t be rushing back there again. The cafe has so much potential but just seems to be doing everything wrong."
