"We were warmly welcomed with the track and trace procedure quickly completed, and then we were escorted to our seats where we observed them being thoroughly cleaned before we sat down. Taking advantage of the eat out to help out scheme, we ordered a black and blue burger, scampi and chips, a fully loaded mint chocolate chip waffle, a chocolate milkshake, large cappuccino, and a coke. The total came to a reasonable £16 for everything, and the food exceeded our expectations. The presentation was excellent and all the dishes were delicious. The black and blue burger had just the right amount of blue cheese and was served with fries and homemade coleslaw. The scampi was well-cooked with chunky chips and coleslaw, perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Our child thoroughly enjoyed her waffle and milkshake, which were indeed fully loaded. The staff did a great job of operating swiftly while adhering to social distancing rules. The only minor critique would be the need for someone to monitor the entrance as some customers kept entering to use the facilities, inadvertently breaching the distancing guidelines by brushing past others. It is unclear how this issue can be resolved."

"Today we visited a cafe for the first time and ordered the "big breakfast," paninis, hot chocolate, and tea. We were very impressed with our first visit. The customer service was excellent, and the food portions were so generous that it was difficult to finish. I would highly recommend the hot chocolate, as well as the hazelnut flavor which tasted like Nutella. The food was not greasy or overcooked, and everything was served in a healthy and delicious way that didn't leave us feeling heavy. I highly recommend this cafe and will definitely be returning as it is the best food I have tasted so far."

"What an absolute shame. This place used to be a lovely little pub with but over the years its just gone down hill. This review is sadly an accumulation of several visits over the past few months. From walking in the door, there is a distinct lack of atmosphere. Its been exceptionally quiet each time with only a hand full of people in the whole building and this doesn't help... but in general its doesnt feel like a welcome environment. Each time Ive stood at the bar and waited for quite some time while waiting to even be acknowledged. Service is slow and painfully lacking in personal interaction. The menu is enormously overpriced for average quality pub food and you can eat for the same price or cheaper in Portofinos Restaurant which is literally next door and over looks the Historic Quay. In my opinion this needs significant investment in staffing/staff training to create a more welcoming and engaging environment. The menu requires a deeper look at its price points based on the service and general atmosphere. With the right management and team it could be a fabulous little pub again in a lovely location."

"My daughter, who is 8 years old, and I visited a cozy restaurant today. We ordered drinks and the bar staff was friendly and helpful. Even though we initially only intended to have drinks, we decided to stay for dinner and we were very glad we did. My daughter had no trouble finding something she liked, while my husband ordered the fish and chips, and I opted for the fish finger sandwich. My husband mentioned that he usually feels disappointed when ordering fish and chips from a pub instead of a chippy, but this time he was satisfied with his choice. He considered ordering the "Monster Mixed Grill," but ultimately went for the fish and chips. We were both very happy with our meals. I particularly enjoyed my fish finger sandwich, although it may not be the best option for someone looking for a light meal. Overall, the food was delicious and we had a lovely afternoon. It truly was a "Good Friday" experience."

"Terrible experience! We should have checked the reviews before coming here. This place is so bad that it should be reported to the local authorities. It's not even Italian - they didn't even have mozzarella for a tomato mozzarella salad starter. The bruschetta had a strange and unpleasant taste that was unlike anything I've ever had at an Italian restaurant before. The lasagne was just a red mush with no detectable meat - I've had better microwave lasagne. The salads were tiny and consisted of mostly cabbage with mayo and breadcrumbs - not a proper salad at all. My friend's Chicken Diane was tasteless with a thick, gloopy gravy and the same poor salad. We waited over half an hour for starters and even longer for our four main dishes, despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy. The staff seemed untrained and inattentive. Overall, a hopeless and disappointing experience - do not recommend dining here."

"I swear I've just been drinking in Basil's Fawlty towers ! We came out for drinks and had the worst experience ever ! A surly barmaid I believe called Britney was the rudest and most uninterested bar maid I have ever come across. Stood at the end of the bar and ignored us for ages. She knew we were there but perhaps she was too busy on her phone to serve us !! Talk about the wrong person for the job. Come on White House, you can do so much better than this !!"

"I went to this restaurant with my two grandchildren for lunch. The server was friendly, but my thirteen-year-old grandson stopped eating and told me his food was dry and overcooked. No staff members had checked in to ask how the food was, so I took the dish over to the bar to address the issue. They offered to replace the dish, but we declined due to time constraints. When we went to pay the bill, the item had not been removed as promised. I inquired about this, and after a wait, I was told that only half of the amount would be deducted because half of the dish had been eaten. This was supposedly the manager's decision. I was displeased with this outcome and informed them that I would not be returning to the restaurant."

"We have visited this lovely cafe numerous times for breakfast over the past year, and on each occasion we have really enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Our most recent visit was this morning. Service is always fast and friendly even when it’s busy as it was this morning. The homemade cakes, quiches, filled rolls and pies always look nice too. This cafe is definitely worth a visit if you want good food at decent prices. We will keep returning and supporting this small business"

"We went for the 1st time it was extremely busy ,the girl that served us was lovely very polite and helpful we probably wouldn't go back purely based on the fact she came over to take payment why we were eating so we were putting mouthful of food in our mouth while leaning over to pay ,we felt payment should be taken at time of order or the end not in middle of us eating it gave the feeling of lack of trust ,the toilets were a bit wiffy smelt of pee (this was ladies) other than that the food was gorgeous the coffee was very nice but we felt like crimals who were gonna do a runner lol the girl who served us was lovely though and the reason for 3 stars was based on the urgency to pay change it up pay on order or after food"

"From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted. The staff kindly informed us that they don't serve alcohol, which gave us the option to leave if we wished, but it didn't bother us at all. They had a variety of soft drinks available, which we ordered. The food was excellent – we enjoyed the king prawn jalfrezi and the huka korma with rice, both of which were delicious. I also tried the pesh, which has quickly become my new favorite dish."

"many thanks to the manager and the staff that they make my day much easier today when they make my baby and 2 years old. When I came all morning and was glad that I sat here and in the play area all afternoon. faster service and I was not sure that my huh was properly cooked turns out was a vene, but manager insisted that I got a replacement. she got some activity packages to keep my small child busy when she saw that I wasn't done what a superior thing was to do. the lady responsible for the play area is also nice and easy to talk. the whole staff was very nice today and I felt comfortable."

"We recently stayed in Hartlepool for the weekend. When my friends said they planned to take us to Wetherspoons I wasn’t exactly overjoyed. We found a table that suited us as my husband is wheelchair bound. The table was a little dirty, went to the bar and asked for a cloth but the person I spoke to grabbed a bottle of spray and wiped it over. We ended up being in this bar for about hours catching up with our friends. All the staff we spoke to made us very welcome and one in particular whose name I didn’t catch was so helpful, telling my husband to ask him for any help he needed. I also approached another member of staff to ask if the disabled toilet could be cleaned as it had got rather dirty , again it was quickly cleaned with a smile. The pub was extremely busy so I can see why it hadn’t been done for a while and there were a lot of people using the disabled toilet. Not all disabilities are visible of course but young women freely admitted they couldn’t be bothered to climb the multiple stairs that Wetherspoons are so famed for! The staff in this Wetherspoons could perhaps teach the staff in the Wetherspoons in my city a thing or two. Had a great day."

"I went on a Thursday lunchtime right after freedom day , there were a total of four customers (including me and my friend) when I arrived. The manager and team were friendly and helpful. The manager expained the ordering system and helped my friend out with a technical glitch. The food was just what you expect from the brand. The staff were keen to offer the best customer service happy to chat if you wanted, but also left you in peace to eat your meal."

"I ordered a parmo with ham and sweetcorn, specifying that I am allergic to olives. Despite no mention of olives on the Just Eat app, my food was delivered late by a driver who had no change. To make matters worse, the food was extremely cold upon arrival. I highly recommend avoiding this place - it's even worse than Kay's cooking on TikTok."

"Unfortunately, our recent dining experience was not pleasant. The staff welcomed us warmly and the service was quick, but that was the extent of the positives. We ordered papadums and pickles as starters, which were delicious. However, the actual starters were small and tasteless, prompting us to not finish them. The main dishes were also small in portion size and lacked flavor, especially the jalfrezi. The bill came as a surprise, with the meal not offering good value for money. Despite being asked if we had a voucher, we will not be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. We believe there are much better Indian restaurants in town, such as Golden Gate, Dilshad, and Masala Lounge, which offer tastier food at better prices. Overall, it was not a satisfying dining experience with our friends."

"avoid them when they can, the ground, ground floor, bar and restaurators all looked beautiful, what my nan would have called all the fur coat, but no knickers the rooms are extremely poor. wall paper hanging from walls, rust in carpets, broken wash basins, dirty floors, dirty laundry...left in the halls. at the arrival there is no prescription that they have to go through the bar to check, the staff were in order, not excessively friendly, but also not rude. we asked about the breakfast on the first day and were told that the restaurator is not open, nor in the following night it was open in the evening, some form of communication would be good. the coworkers seem to be completely uninterested in the hotel, only the bar. the rooms rusty old and muffy with grubby throws and kisses (we all know that they are not washed after every customer and have a renter to have body fluids on them.) the bed dipped into the middle, the matratze had fed out of them, so we slept up on the bed. we bought our own kisses. the room was dark, dingy and stinking. Unfortunately we couldn't come anywhere else to stay. no check-out available, so the room key gave to the dame that wash the floors, as no one seemed to be different. I would not waste your money"
