"My partner and I took a little holiday in Hastings and were pleasantly surprised to come across this incredible restaurant. Although we didn't dine in as we had other plans, we couldn't resist the sight of the focaccia displayed in the window. We ordered two slices, and it was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. It was truly authentic Italian and freshly made. I'm just disappointed it's so far from where we live because I would eat here every day if I could! The pizzas looked fantastic, and I would absolutely return to Hastings just to visit this restaurant again. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was excellent."

"I don’t write negative reviews and I don’t comment on average eateries. I just hope they get better. So I thought we’d visit St Leonard’s and booked Sieg Heil…(check spelling pls Ed)…. Sorry Sea Kale…..really very very good…! We had the Sea Bass risotto and it was fantastic….fresh fish caught the night before you can’t beat…and we could have chosen so many other meals we fancied… next time….the house wine was very good…so many customers seemed to be regular customers…thank you Matt and Emma…such a memorable lunch..!"

"oyster perfect, small taste plates w good, mywmain plate panache w disappointing with tasteless overcooked fish. I was told the nasty was good. the rye twog has turbot on the menu and that was good last time I went there, not on the menu on rock a nore unfortunately. weinliste ok- the chablis is good."

"We have been using the Kingfisher every time we visit Hastings so it has become a very nice ritual over the past years. The fish and chips is always excellent, the fish I believe locally sourced and the food is always top notch. The...Kingfisher is very popular so there is a wait of about or mins max before you are served. It is well worth the wait! The food is always perfectly cooked, and the service is always fantastic. There is a very varied menu to choose from, and all in all the restaurant's popularity with visitors and locals seems obvious and well deserved. Always a great experience. Recommend!"

"This place has made me consider visiting St. Leonards-on-Sea! It's rustic and cozy, with brick walls and wooden accents. They use local ingredients, offer a great selection of natural wines, and the food is excellent! What a wonderful experience! From the cloth napkins to the impressive wine list and a menu designed for sharing, everything was delightful. I was thoroughly impressed! We can’t wait to enjoy another meal here!"

"such a beautiful bar, a really nice place to have a drink in the evening, but an even better place to lunch, eating here is amazing! it is nicely cooked and you can say that the chefs really care about their food. manager and owners are beautiful and really care and helpful! would recommend to all!"

"I liked the pub very much, she had a good atmosphere and was warm and comfortable, although it was like in an iondon gastropub instead of a Hastings place. that is not so much a critique as something unexpected. the food was really very good and we all enjoyed it, with taking out my Christmas spice, which was quite dry and unstoppable. when the staff saw that I had left half of it, they immediately took the accusation of our bill, which was a pleasant surprise. the staff was friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend it for a pleasant evening. we will go back!"

"Used to be regulars here but unfortunately our latest visit will be the last. We were ignored by the waiting staff for the first 10 minutes who went to another table first who were seated after us, we weren't even acknowledged. We were ignored most of the evening anyway by the staff and the one member who did serve us we felt a bit like an after thought. Food was average. Atmosphere was terrible due to the friends of the owners who were noisy and had no regard for people trying to have a nice evening meal. Then to automatically put a 10% service charge on given the poor service was the last straw. Because of all this we will look for a new regular place to eat, just didn't feel welcome."

"visited this wonderful restaurant on Wednesday night and can not wait back! the personal is fantastic, friendly and attentive and eating is simply incredible! beautifully cooked and beautifully presented, each cure was top class. the restaurant is tastefully decorated, comfortable and everyone who came through the door was welcome. our friend who celebrated his birthday was made to feel very special. his dessert plate had his name and a birthday greeting and the personal sang all happy birthday! it is clear that the staff in bella vista feel something special and this in combination with the fantastic eating, make it, without doubt, the best place to eat in the opposite. can not be very recommended and look forward to a new visit. many thanks to bella vista xx"

"I went to this restaurant on Sunday, September 3rd with my brother and his family who were visiting from Australia, totaling 6 of us. Four members of our group ordered the fish and chips, which they all enjoyed. The crab and prawn linguine was also excellent. However, I was disappointed with my roast pork, as it consisted of 2 pork chops, which I found unusual. I didn't complain since I was with family, but I won't be returning for the roast. Overall, I would rate the food 3 out of 5."

"one of the best fishing and chips I ever had and the service was fast and friendly to boot! the dough on the fish and the sausages was light and well seasoned, the part of the chips was massiv, and the muddy heaps were unexpectedly delicious compared to normal. not only was eating great, but there is a massive poster on the wall that shows all allergens in their products! I urgently post the owners a picture of it with the photos up here, so future non-sites know that this is the place to go if they want a great meal that will not contain unexpected allergens."

"During our mini break to Sussex and Kent, we visited Hastings and had lunch at a seafood restaurant we had reserved a table at. Although we expected it to be the highlight of our trip, the dining experience here faced tough competition from meals in Canterbury and Rye. We arrived at 12:30 and had the choice of a table by the window for a nice view, but the bright sunlight made it too hot. Another couple regretted sitting there as they wilted under the sun. We couldn't have wine due to a long drive home, so we opted for water instead. The menu included specials like the 'Catch of the day', which was Turbot that day. We both ordered the 'Grilled Local Turbot Fillet' with asparagus and sautéed potatoes. For starters, we had the 'Moules Mariniére' which was delicious. The Turbot was good, but the portion size was a bit small for the price. The potatoes were slightly undercooked and the asparagus was uneven in texture. We both decided on dessert, my partner had cheesecake and I had vanilla ice cream, both with berry sauce. The service was satisfactory and the atmosphere was pleasant."

"a beautiful, friendly pub with a beautiful beer garden and in a beautiful old building on the wonderful all saints street. a few vegan options on the menu, I had the falafel package with chips that was good and went me during the hectic (but wonderful) jack in the green festival for beltane. in any case worth a visit if they are in the opposite."

"I recently discovered a hidden gem in this restaurant. The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and provided a welcoming atmosphere. The food was not only delicious but also reasonably priced. The female owner did a fantastic job pairing the dishes with the perfect wine, and they also had a great selection of beers. On Thursday evenings, they host a fantastic jazz club with talented musicians and special guest artists. Plus, the chairs were super comfortable. Overall, a wonderful experience!"

"Myself and my partner always drive past The Hoxley and always say how we’ll go but never quite make it. Anyway it was my birthday this week and we decided to go (we didn’t book we just turned up and hoped for the best) well thank god we did. THE. BEST. THAI. FOOD. We actually went to the Ivy Asia last weekend and both said hands down the food here was a million times better, tastier and the service was top notch, at 1/3 of the price. There was a guy looking after us and he couldn’t have been more hospitable, giving recommendations on the menu and just generally being really attentive and friendly. Our food was amazing and we will be back again and again. So pleased we found this little gem!"

"I went here because the pub opposite (Jenny Lind) use it for guests staying there. I loved the cafe the owner is super friendly and polite and he has two little dogs that hang around. The food is freshly cooked individually and is excellent. There seem to be lots of locals that go there and one chap told me he had breakfast there every day. Don't go if you want a quick instant breakfast it's made to order and it takes just as long as if you were making it at home. I consider this a gem of a place a real find."

"Ordered a takeaway recently from Pizzarelli and I was not impressed. The Margherita had a nice flavour and plenty of cheese, but only had two cherry tomatoes and three basil leaves. The base was overcooked and it had a chewy crust. The padrino again had a nice flavour, but the pizza was ruined by the burnt black base that overided the taste of the toppings. Extremely disappointed, given the reviews and recommendations I'd received regarding this restaurant's food."

"if they want a special place for a meal, then that is. not only is eating amazing, but the personal is also wonderful. the ambiente is relaxing and they really feel like they are on holiday when they eat in this quirky restaurant. the advertiser with minze is a good choice when they drink with the meal and why not finish the meal with their own top minze tee. oh and how can I not mention the rose cake for pudding, it is worth breaking any diet to eat it."

"What is the employee here angry about? It was the most unpleasant service out of all British restaurants. This restaurant should not receive a high rating as long as there are female employees who don't answer even when you ask, call, or ask for anything, and don't respond. The pizza was delicious, but the spaghetti tasted like the tomato sauce you can buy at the supermarket."

"Make sure to visit Casey and the team on a Sunday for their delicious roast dinner. There's nothing better than enjoying a roast on the beachfront on a Sunday afternoon to cure a hangover.
