"Our experience at this restaurant last Saturday was quite disappointing, but I am giving it 4 stars because I have always loved this pub and the food has been great in the past. We were all disappointed as the dishes we ordered were under seasoned and unbalanced. The monkfish was nice but was overpowered by the taramasalata. The pakoras had no salt or flavor, and the curried chips were lacking curry and salt, tasting like oven chips. The duck was overcooked and the accompanying dishes were bland. I have always recommended this pub as one of the best places to eat in Hastings, but this experience was disappointing overall. I was embarrassed for recommending it."

Lovely traditional pub steeped in history. Don't forget to look out for the 2 mummified cats!

I loved the friendly staff and many evenings have folk music sessions. I didn't want the predominant spicy/curry, but chose wide bohnen chickpea burger. beautiful chips, but I would rather have cooked the splodgy burger' to hav thru and have been offered French dressing or similar for the dry salad. a beautiful, friendly pub with a beautiful beer garden and in a beautiful old building on the wonderful all saints street. a few vegan options on the menu, I had the falafel package with chips that was good and went me during the hectic (but wonderful) jack in the green festival for beltane. in any case worth a visit if they are in the opposite.

What a brilliant pub! Really varied menu with interesting flavour twists on all the options -absolutely loved my hake with smoked haddock pakora and spiced cauli. Daughter loved the duck and confit samosa. Exceptionally dog friendly too and the female waiter on duty eve of sept 2 was efficient, friendly and warm. Thank you! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

An interesting menu. The complimentary Guinness and treacle bread with garam masala butter was so delicious the crispy lamb ribs starter also but very spicy. Our mains were less interesting but still nice. The 80s music was too loud and detracted from the food. I would go back to try the taster menu on a Thursday. This pub is fantastic, nestled in the quiet neighborhood of All Saints, it holds the title of being the oldest pub in Hastings, dating back to around 1547. The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. The garden is a hidden gem worth exploring. Be sure to check out the cat mummies, which have an interesting tie to the town's history of witches and rat control in the 17th century. Prices range from £1 to £10 per person.

Walking up All Saints Street to visit this charming 16th-century pub is definitely worth it. The Inn has a proper old-world feel with a lovely fireplace, great atmosphere, and interesting artifacts, including mummified cats - a tradition believed to keep evil spirits away. The service from Rebecca was warm, friendly, and welcoming. While I only stopped in for drinks, the menu looked excellent (especially the lamb, rosemary garlic crisps). I will definitely be returning.
