"We stopped here for breakfast before doing some shopping. For some reasons not every cafe opens early for breakfast luckily thus one does. Service was good and staff were friendly. Food and drinks turned up quite quickly and was nice. You don't get a drink included with the price of a breakfast but it's not a big problem. The Mrs loved the fact that they do a build your own breakfast, she doesn't do eggs or tomatoes so being able to choose what you want is ideal."

"I hate giving low reviews, especially to all vegan places I ordered cheesy garlic nachos and cauliflower wings my two go tos a) because i love them but also b) i feel like you can tell a lot about a vegan place on these two options. I ordered and went to sit upstairs as the space downstairs is a bit cramped. My food took a little time but its okay as I think they were sorting out an error on someone elses order. I have attached a picture so you can already see, but it was a plate of tortilla chips in a pile, with various tiny pieces of salad dotted around the outside, with shredded unmelted cheese and houmous. I understand maybe it was garlic houmous but it didnt taste like it at all and also I guess I was expecting a sauce of some kind and that the cheese would be melted. The portion was absolutely massive but I guess it makes it value for money where it otherwise wouldnt be. My cauliflower bites were yummy but so difficult to eat bc they were too big and fell apart, and there was so much sauce at the bottom of the bowl I actually poured some onto my nachos (made them less dry I also asked for tap water but wasnt given any. As I was leaving, a staff member asked me if I had paid which is fair enough to ask but the way she said it was almost rude, especially since she was stood right there when I ordered."

"I went to this restaurant to grab some chips for my partner and myself before catching the train. I had heard good things about this place and wanted to give it a try. I placed my order and was told it would be a few minutes, but it ended up taking closer to 15 or 20 minutes. I was fine with this as I knew they were cooking it fresh. I stood by the wall to stay out of the way, as there was nobody else in the shop. However, I was told to take a seat. I politely declined and said I preferred to stand. The staff then threatened to give me a refund if I didn't sit down. When I asked why I needed to sit, they couldn't provide a reason and attempted to give me my money back. I refused and eventually received my food, which was okay but not the best I've had. The customer service was terrible, and based on this experience, I would not return to this restaurant."

"Our visit to Goat Ledge on Boxing Day was greatly impacted by the weather, for better and for worse. We found ourselves waiting in a long line to order drinks, while there was another line for hot food that we decided to forgo. Despite the crowds, the service was polite and friendly, although the wait times were a bit slow. The live music added to the lively atmosphere of the place. The restaurant's covered huts and booths, available to rent, added to the charm of the place. Overall, it was a fun and enjoyable experience."

"We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals were all fine and well presented although the evening menu was a bit limited with no specials . We had dinner there for both nights. Breakfast was very good and the price for a cooked breakfast included toast, tea/coffee. Hotel guests get a 20% discount on breakfast prices if they add it to their room. We opted for a sea view room which was on the 3rd floor unfortunately, the windows were not that large. The room was of reasonable size with a nice bathroom. The hotel has a nice veranda at the front with outside tables/chairs looking across the road to the sea and pier. The hotel does suffer some noise from the main road outside. It is not far from the centre of Hastings. Overall we were very pleased with our stay at the White Rock Hotel and it was excellent value for what we paid. Certainly, would definitely go back there again on our next visit to Hastings"

"I had a very disappointing experience at eat@the park cafe in Hastings. I visited on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 4:15 pm. When I arrived, I was completely ignored while waiting for service. The staff member who eventually helped me did not greet me and was not very helpful. They were also chatting amongst themselves instead of attending to the customers in line. It seemed like there was no one supervising the staff. I got the feeling that the staff just wanted us to leave. Maybe they will get their wish after all."

"Had fish n chips for lunch here today. Quality of the food was certainly up there. Fish was freshly cooked to perfection. Lovely flaky haddock. Cooking and serving staff were also very pleasant and made sure we were looked after. Only downside was the place could have been a bit cleaner, especially the floor in the restaurant part. Kids in there seemed to throw half their meals on the floor. Staff member did try to keep on top of cleaning but really needed some help. Would definitely go back for the quality of the food, and perhaps re. the cleaning we just caught them on a bad day."

"Never ever again so disappointed my friends has traveled up from Wales for dinner with us I had booked a specific table 10 days before and when we arrived was told that they'd had a booking for 11 so we'd have to sit on a table that was barely big enough for 4 small children to eat at,but then the table behind us left so waitress said so you want this one,wow thanks!!! so we moved because it did at least have room for four people however everytime the door opened my friend was pushed as people came in very very disappointed as booked early and was promised table then shelved because they had a better offer,very disappointed will never ever visit again food very mediocre and service not much better"

"Fantastic, I’d walked past this shack a few times and every time I walked past I said they smell so good. The look of the shack is not somewhere I think would serve quality fish and chips, I wouldn’t normally stop somewhere like this,just reminds me of a fair ground stall, how wrong was I. Went back later in the day, served by extra polite staff, ordered 2x fish and chips 2x cod bites and chips mushy peas and a saveloy for the 7 year old saveloy critic. Was given a pager and told would be 10minutes, pager buzzed and we went to collect, everything we had was fresh and cooked to perfection the fish batter was so crispy, the fish was lily white, everyone tucked in and said how good it was We even passed on the recommendation to a family we met at the crazy golf! Keep doing what your doing and we will be sure to visit when we are back in Hastings "

"During a busy double shift, I decided to take a chance and see if the restaurant offered Sunday roast. To my delight, they did not disappoint. The service was exceptional and I was able to enjoy a delicious drink and an amazing roast dinner at an unbelievably low price. Next time, I will definitely ask for extra gravy. "We used to frequent this fish and chip shop, but we will definitely not be returning. The food left much to be desired, as the cod I ordered had a large bone in the middle and minimal white flakes of fish. The batter was crispy, but my daughter's scampi mostly consisted of hollow pieces of batter. The staff service was adequate, but we were put off by an older man with a moustache rolling a cigarette at a table in the back of the restaurant while also wrapping cutlery in napkins. Despite our British tendency to just pay and leave, it is disappointing as my husband has been coming to this restaurant since he was a child, and we have been bringing our child here for 14 years. It seems like there may have been another change in ownership."

"We booked ahead of arriving, with space for a highchair this was provided and the table was ready however we co located next to a family that also had children (very naughty loud children) the tables had been rearranged to accommodate the family, making the walkway to the gents very tight! We were given a table directly behind the coffee machine and were plagued by flies continuously flying around our heads. It was at this point, if my daughter was so intent on eating here, we would have left. When the food came, the bead with the oil and vinegar was toasted!? how are you supposed to soak up oil with toasted bread? The mains were average, portion size was good. As others have mentioned the Tiramisu was excellent, and put a nice finish on an otherwise average evening."

"I visited the bakery in December to buy some bread. I am new to the area and had no idea what the shop offers. I ordered a sourdough, paid and asked for it to be sliced. Before the sales assistant went off to slice it I asked him is there anywhere close by that I can buy some ham and salad. He replied there is nowhere in the old town and my nearest supermarket would be Morrisons. When he went to the back to slice the bread I decided to take a look around the store to check what else you sold. I was surprised to then find that you had a large selection of cold meats and salad. I took them to the till for purchase to the same assistant and asked him why he didn’t tell me that you had the items that I had enquired about. His reply; it’s quite expensive here and I don’t like to push products! A. What kind of people do you have working in your store? Someone that refused to let me know that you do indeed sell the food I was looking for. B. How can a shop assistant assume what my budget is for food and what I consider to be expensive or not!!!! No apology, no thank you and goodbye. Outrageous behaviour and what a shame this is what happened on my first visit! What is this discrimination or an assistant telling me where I should shop?? Completely unacceptable I have contacted judges baker via emails 3 times regarding this matter and they have so far not replied. So as they clearly do not care, I’ve decided to leave a public review"

"What can I say? My partner and I were craving crabs, so we decided to escape London for an afternoon by the sea in search of a restaurant where we could enjoy the fresh air. We stumbled upon this charming, unpretentious gem, and while my partner indulged in some delicious fish and chips, I started with crab and followed it up with dressed crab as another starter. Our meal was served by a very friendly gentleman who informed us that they plan to have a crab hard drive (which I absolutely love) soon. Will we return? Absolutely! In fact, we could easily stay the weekend since they also have rooms upstairs and are perfectly located across from the sea in the old town. The cherry on top was the bill—very reasonable! What’s not to love?"

"Absolutely shocking service. My friend and I are regular customers here however tonight we ordered cheesy garlic bread (warm) along with Cookie squares (warm) and a piece of cake ice cream. When it turned up the food was SO cold. We rang the shop and the guy on the phone said that our order was pretty much not a priority because we didn’t specifically order pizza, so I asked him this is your excuse for sending me freezing cold food and he said yes!!! I am appalled by this, we bought the garlic bread for the sake of making up the delivery charge and this is what we get!!!! The guy was rude and the food was far to cold, will never order again."
