"First time here and last time! We arrived for lunch. There was a lunch time specials menu advertised outside the door and as our student daughter had offered to pay, we decided this was our best option. There was no one else in the restaurant at the time. We were shown to our seats and given menus. But having looked at the menus we realised there were not the lunchtime menus so we had to ask for these. We choose the Meze Trio and Crab Cakes both with homemade bread. When they arrived the Meze had obviously just been poured out of a jar and we had 2 slices each of shop bought baguette. And the crab cakes were burnt. The owner/manager asked if we were on holiday, we said no we live here. Then he started chatting. The mains arrived all of the same quality, out of a jar, cooked from frozen and with no taste. They charged us ÂŁ2.25 for a canned coke! When we came to pay they said there credit card machine was broken . This should have been explained to us before we had even ordered that we could not pay by card. Our daughter had to walk a quarter of a mile to reach the nearest ATM! We told the waiter we were not happy with the food and he just shrugged his shoulders. The owner/manager came out and asked how was our meal so again we said we were not happy with it. He just smirked and shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Terrible food and couldn 't careless attitude from the owner/manager and staff. Will never come here again or advise anyone else too. Not very good for any poor unsuspecting tourist who might be tempted to eat there and certainly does not give Inverness a good image."

"While preparing to enjoy a fantastic day out chose to investigate the offerings available at White Cottage Tea Room and was delighted by our findings. The quaint little cottage is snuggled away among neighbouring cottages and providing incredible views towards the water and Inverness. Inside was tidy, clean, bright and far more spacious than I expected from the outside. The staff were extremely friendly, patient, efficient and ready to make sure our needs were met. They were quick to clean up after customers left and toilet facilities were also in a clean and tidy condition, something that even the best resturants can fall short on. While we were a little too late to try breakfast we will definately be back to try it out though for sure! we tried out a few different items from the menu. I had the Tuna Mayo Baked Potato, it came with tuna mayo, salad and lovely beetroot coleslaw that I 'd never tried before but would certainly look to try out again and possibly look for in the shops if I can find it. My cousin had the Avacado Toast which looked stunning, the eggs on top of the salad looked perfectly. My Aunt tried Chicken Goujous that came with chips and chilli sauce and my two little cousins had the sausages, chips and beans from the kid menu; they 're sausages looked so juice and I 'm hoping they 're the sausages used for the breakfast. But what really impressed us all about the meals was the portion sizes; especially the adults. The kids menu meals were probably the perfect size for them with room left for dessert if needed. Both would have wolfed them down if one wasn 't having a 'moment ' but ate more than half. While our portions, I 'm sure I had a whole tin of tuna in my meal and my aunt had so many chicken pieces she had to leave a couple. It was very worth the money and experience. Oh and that dessert counter! We were planning on coming to get some on the way back from our out but we were all a little too exhausted and the kids had stuffed themselves full of candyfloss and popcorn so that will also be added to the list when we return for breakfast. They looked mouthwatering!!! The plum tart, the chocolate cake, the lemon slice so much choice! If you are ever in the area I really recommend visiting! They even do takeout for those days that are a little nicer and maybe you want to do a picnic."

"Starters fish and beef tacos and a portion of nachos very good and prompt. Cocktails and mocktails good. However it completely plummeted from here on. Then over an hours wait for our main course waiting staff finally told us after about an hour that they wouldnt be long. When they arrived only of the arrived. Sizzling fajita plate was warm. Mozzarella cheese was starting to go hard as had been sitting. Burrito had been cut and left under the hot plate for a while was also lukewarm. main course for the child of the group arrived minutes later than the rest of the main courses. We were told we would receive a couple of free desserts as well as the main course deducted from the bill. However after finishing our main course the dirty plates sat infront of us for over minutes. By this time it was after and we had been there close to hours, no check ins from staff, almost a sense of avoidance. I managed to flag down one of the waiting staff, when going to ask for the bill I asked if the fajita plate should 'sizzle' she said it should have. She said very little. No mention of the free desserts now. Whole table heard her murmur as she walked away considering the staff had already been reprimanded by another customer for complaining about customers on the restaurant floor minutes prior youd think they would be more careful. However by this point and nearly hours in we just wanted to leave as it was supposed to be a birthday treat which was a severe disappointment. Bill arrived and fajitas and the late main meal had been deducted however the customer service was lacking"

"I ordered Pizza Express dough balls, Al Forno dough balls, polenta chips, cannelloni, and a latte. The Pizza Express dough balls were served with butter and had a slightly burnt bottom. I cut them open and enjoyed them with the butter. Unfortunately, I found the Al Forno dough balls unappealing, though they were saved by the generous amount of cheese on top. The polenta chips came with a sweet mustard sauce, which I had never tried before. They resembled porridge more than chips, making for an interesting experience. They were served very hot, so I had to wait for them to cool down. The mustard sauce was quite sugary, but surprisingly, it did not detract too much from the overall flavor. The cannelloni was also a first for me, and it was an interesting experience, though not to my liking. The latte looked nice but tasted just average, with nothing particularly special about it. I returned later and ordered the Leggera Vegan Giardiniera, a Beetroot Buddha Bowl, and another latte. My choice of pairing the latte with the beetroot was a mistake, as the flavors did not mesh well, and I ended up drinking very little of it. The Beetroot Buddha Bowl was intriguing, with well-cooked beetroot, but it had too many overly spiced toasted seeds. The Leggera Vegan Giardiniera is essentially a pizza topped with fresh salad around the edges. The bottom was burned a bit too much, so the waiter kindly replaced it for me. The taste was good, resembling a decent pizza but nothing out of the ordinary. If you're interested, you can ask the waiter for the vegan menu."
