"Girvans you are like a lovely big familiar hug, and how I do miss that! Granted the food here is nothing extraordinary, and I think maybe the prices are little steep, I think last time I went it was over £6.00 for a sandwich!? This is why this place is like a lovely big hug..... I can go in every time and know exactly what I am having, NO..... do not hand me a menu, I do not need it. Chicken Tempura with sweet chilli sauce, a cappuccino, and of course I MUST eye up the cake cabinet when I arrive. The sweet delights this place has to offer are always so tempting! That could be the reason I only have a starter, leave enough room for a strawberry tart or a lovely slab of carrot cake! Service is always good during lunch, prompt and efficient, but maybe rushing you out the door a little. I have been twice in the evenings and find that the staff seem to take it a little easier then, maybe to the point that they are a bit slow and inattentive. All in all, lunch.... yes please. Dinner, no thanks. I would rather pay an extra few pennies and go to the mustard seed or the kitchen."

Good for breakfast, I managed to get GF toast with poached eggs and smoked salmon. Separate toaster for toast. Quite pricy for what it is but good to have.

I ordered a bacon and egg roll, but since they don't offer gluten-free rolls, I opted for a bacon and egg sandwich instead. Regardless, the food was absolutely amazing, and the restrooms were great as well. I give it a 10/10!

Best lunch I had over my 11 days in Scotland. Delicious rotating menu, friendly serving staff, and positive vibe. And the delicious desserts! Yum! Would definitely return here. Parking is on your own in the nearby parking garage.

Looks like a very enticing place for a cuppa cake or lunch. The reality has on three seperate occassions has been very different: missing orders, poor staff, over priced food. It does appear that young children are not welcome (people in wheel chairs I suspect would have similar issues). The queues remain but the sparkle has long gone, avoid View menu

This is a great wee restaurant in the middle of town. It's always busy at peak times and I've often had to give up and go somewhere else since the queue is out of the door. The food is fantastic (which I guess is why it is so popular). If you can't face queuing then wait till mid afternoon and pop in for tea and cakes you won't be disappointed!

The food was terrible, but the service was excellent. There were lots of people lined up in the morning for this restaurant, and we were seated promptly. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The porridge was undercooked, the yogurt and granola combination tasted off, the eggs were runny and unappetizing, and the avocado toast was bland. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here.

What a bustling restaurant! After being seated and tasting my meal, I can see why it's so popular. The service is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. The food is truly delicious. I ordered the mushroom bruschetta, the French onion soup from the specials board, and a latte. While enjoying my meal, I noticed the line outside the window getting longer and longer. I highly recommend this place to anyone in search of a great dining experience. View menu

This charming British breakfast spot was so impressive that I had to return. I sampled their Scottish breakfast, which was unexpectedly hearty and satisfying from a tourist's viewpoint, as well as their fish and chips, which might just be the best I've had in the UK. I also tasted their poached eggs with smoked salmon, and the combination was truly excellent. A standout for me was the white chocolate fruit tart—absolutely divine! I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Stopped here for a quick breakfast and found out that they don't really have many interesting vegetarian options and also food was really overpriced for what it was. Nearly 7 pounds for poached eggs with tomatoes and toast. My husband had eggs Benedict with salmon. He said that salmon was very cold like straight out of the fridge to his plate, contrasting in an unpleasant way with the warm poached egg and hollandaise sauce. So a very low quality and uninteresting breakfast with tea for two for nearly 16 pounds. Not worth your money. Lots of better places around. Service was very average too. Wouldn't be back.

"Oh, what a day we had at The White House for my auntie’s 88th! It was pure magic, right from the off. The team there couldn’t have been more welcoming, making us all feel right at home in the heart of Scotland. Now, let’s gab about the food it was out of this world! We started with gluten free fish n chips, and let me tell you, it was as good as any chippy by the sea – crispy, golden, and just packed with flavor. The venison steak and beef short rib? Cooked just how you’d want them, tender and full of taste. The gluten free burgers were a hit too, so juicy and well seasoned. For pudding, we had these scoops of ice cream, smooth as you like, and an apple crunch cheesecake that was simply to die for. But it was our server, Anastasia, who really made our day. She was a wee star – always there with a smile, quick with a recommendation, and knew her menu inside out. I barely noticed our water bottle was empty, and whoosh, there she was with a full one. That’s service for you! The atmosphere in The White House was just as warm and inviting as you’d hope for. It felt like sitting in a cosy wee pub in the Highlands, with all the charm and friendliness you’d expect. So, if you’re ever in the mood for a meal that’s as satisfying as a wee dram on a cold night, head to The White House. It’s not just eating; it’s a proper Scottish experience, full of heart and soul"
