"Arrived with family (4 adults, 1 child for a pre theatre meal (arrived 5 mins late but called in advance to advise . We were seated quickly and unfortunately that is where the good part of the experience ends. After 25 mins looking at the menu with nobody approaching us we asked a passing waitress if we could order. Food was ordered, and starters arrived after about 15 mins, small portions but reasonable quality. Then the wait began.... 40 mins later and several reminders that we had theatre tickets, the food arrived. We had observed food on the pass for approx 15 mins and sadly this was delivered to our table, bearly warm and overcooked. Chewy fish, inedible burger and chewy chicken in a sauce that was essentially passata with peppers and certainly did not match the menu description! We began to eat the warm/bland food as no time to send it back however my sisters meal did not arrive. After several minutes my sister went up to the waitess and asked where her meal was, the waitress asked the chef, in front if my sister, where her meal was, to which he replied, 'oh I must have forgotten to cook it '. The chef then asked my sister if he wanted her to cook it now to which she replied that she did. My sisters meal came out 10 minutes after ours, we had finished eating so she ate alone. At no point did anybody ask if our meals were ok they really weren 't! Nobody asked about allergies (I thought this was now a requirement in restaurants? And we weren 't offered any other drinks or desserts but in all honestly we waited so long we didn 't have time. The restaurant was half empty so this cannot be blamed for the poor experience. I asked to speak to the manager, none available. My sisters main meal was taken off the bill and 25% discount applied however this did not make up for spoiling our night. We have visited this restaurant a number of times previously but sadly this is likely to be our last."

"Ordered a whole chicken, 2x seasonal greens and 2x tenderstem broccoli for collection. Turned up on time to collect the order and was stood around waiting for around 10 mins for someone to even acknowledge me, once I 'd gotten someone 's attention I was then told it 'd be a further 20 mins Okay, cool, sometimes these things can 't be helped so I went back to the car and returned 20 minutes later only to then be told it 'd be a further 15 20 minutes. Not going to lie, I was annoyed mostly because it wasn 't particularly busy, at least 7 tables were free that I could see. Waited the 15 or so minutes and figured ya know what, the food will be worth it, they might have had a bad day. Got home and the absolute state of the food fuming. We paid £6.50 (x2) for 4 pieces of limp broccoli that literally tastes of urine and sugar. £5.25 (x2) for seasonal greens which was the most overcooked cabbage I 've ever seen, swimming in water and over seasoned in chilli and salt and not another vegetable in sight. I LOVE a nice kick to my food but this was legitimately overkill. Both veggie dishes are inedible. The chicken was £19 and I think it 's the smallest chicken I 've ever seen I know we 're paying for others to cook our food and I fully understand the costs of ingredients has risen but £19 for mostly cartilage and bones is taking the mick. Credit where credit is due the meat is tender but the spice blend they 're now using is an acquired taste, it tastes to me like there 's cinnamon in it, I 'm not a fan so I 've had a sandwich instead, my partner isn 't too keen either but doesn 't want to waste the food so is picking at it. All in all it was a really bad experience. Overpriced, overcooked, saturated in water and most of it is inedible. Such a shame because I 'd only heard good things about this place. Needless to say, I won 't be returning."

"The food was lovely however our experience wasn 't great.. After trailing around Liverpool this morning looking for somewhere to brunch we stumbled across cote which looked lovely so we headed in. This was around 11.30am We were greeted by a woman who quite clearly didn 't want to be there saying I 'll be with you in a minute while proceeding to stand there chatting to her colleagues. The weather was quite mild so we asked if we could be seated outside. We were shown to a table outside by a different lady and handed menus. We decided what to eat and waited for someone to come and take our order. 15 mins later another lady came out with a coffee for a man behind us. We grabbed her attention and asked if we could order. 'you can but not with me, I 'll grab someone for you '. Another 5 mins later a man came over to take our order of eggs Benedict, eggs royale and 2 coffees. He came straight out with knifes and forks and said I 'll just grab your coffees. Another 10 mins later he brings our coffees out. We sit chatting for a while and finish our coffees then the man who took our order came out at 1230 to inform us there is no salmon for the eggs royal. My friend opted for the eggs Benedict instead. At this point we thaught we would have had and eaten our food and left by now but sadly not..we ordered a 2nd drink which actually came out quite promptly! I notice at this point another couple being seated in the window. 12.50 we are starting to get impatient now and the couple in the window have just finished eating. My friend heads in to see what the hold up is. Another man who had not long arrived came out to see what our order was and informs us that they don 't know what 's happened to the order and he was getting the chef to make it straight away, he was very apologetic and said that the food was on them. 2 mins later after being there an hour and a half our food is on the table. It was delicious and worth the wait to be honest. I went in to pay for our drinks so we could finally leave but was told it was all on them, which was a very kind gesture which we really appreciated. I do think the staff need some training in customer service and obviously the ordering system needs to be altered so orders can 't just go missing. I don 't understand how a table sat waiting for over an hour can go un noticed or how an order can just go missing. Food fantastic. Staff not so."
