"on our last travel to Germany we spent the night in fra, so our tomorrow is easier when we fly back to the states. on a trip to Germany at the beginning of the summer we had a wonderful dinner here for our last in Germany, and when our plans were changed last minute, we decided to return to dinner again. and it was as delicious as before. we have noticed something in every case, since the restaurant is located off the mainz main tourist centers and the restaurant was mainly filled with locals while we hardly spoke German. to the happiness there are several employees whose English skills are sufficient to guide us through the menu, recommend us some delicious dinners (and serve a fabulous spatlese from the rheingau)."

"Absolutely perfect little spot. I'm traveling for work alone and therefore eatting dinner alone. It's a bit awkward eating by yourself but the guys working made it so comfortable. I had the carpaccio to start and the genovee pasta and bot were delicious. The service was so friendly and he checked on me multiple times. "Ich wohne in Mainz und war schon des Öfteren in dem Restaurant essen. Da sich meine Arbeit auch in der Nähe befindet habe ich ebenfalls schon Essen abgeholt. Die Preise sind im Laufe der letzten Jahre enorm gestiegen und das Restaurant ist in Mainz mit das teuerste in dem es Sushi gibt. Vor kurzem wollte ich telefonisch essen zum Abholen bestellen, da ich kein Bargeld hatte habe ich nach der Möglichkeit mit Karte zu zahlen gefragt. Es hieß dies sei kein Problem. Als ich meine Bestellung aufgegeben hatte hieß es jedoch plötzlich, dass es einen Mindestbestellwert von 30€ für Kartenzahlung gebe. Ich wurde also aufgefordert entweder mehr zu bestellen (hier wurden mir die Edamame für ca 5€ vorgeschlagen) oder ich solle den fehlenden Betrag als Trinkgeld geben. Diese Aufforderung fand ich ziemlich schwierig! Ich werde bestimmt so schnell nicht wieder etwas in diesem Restaurant essen!Die besten Restaurants in meiner Nähe"

"if they only visit a falafel place in mainz, they should go here! the sandwiches they make are very good and also cheap: 3 eur per piece, but I highly recommend adding hummus and tabouleh for an additional eur. make sure they are vegan, because only the hot sauce is vegan (and sometimes they also have vegan sesame sauce, but the sandwiches also taste great without it.) this is also the only place where I like raw tweepers: they march them into zimt and lemon juice, so they don't taste so sharp and they don't get bad atem from them."

"Before I even start I must declare a conflict of interest: I am Portuguese, and thus my opinion on the food might be harsh.This is what it looks and feels like Sports club restaurant that got so popular that it is now mainly a restaurant. It looks like most local restaurants in Portugal, those that few tourists visit, but in a good way. It is homely, if not totally comfortable, the service friendly, not 100% efficient but things get done. The decoration is mostly football based, but this was (is)? a sports club after all. I was there with a large party (> 20) of which the majority was not Portuguese, and I can say the food was a success. There are many dishes to choose from, but it felt like they tasted the same. Of course, being from Portugal I can say that I had better, but they were very nice nonetheless. My imprecise estimate was that most patrons were not Portuguese, so it never felt like we were intruders - sometimes happens in these places. There is also a nice selection of Portuguese wine (and beer), and the prices are very reasonable. All in all, it is a nice low-key, friendly and welcoming place with good Portuguese food."
