"we have made a list before we came to mainz of rekcomends of trip, as we knew it could be difficult to get a place to eat on New Year's Day. after the arrival and on a mooch without a goal wander around the centrum and the old town....Even shortly before four we have tortured hottum down grebenstrasse, we have seen, but with some people who float, we thought we would look further down on the road and when we came back, the weinstube was opened for the business. at least the half of the tables were reserved, but advised that the splitting up of a table was still optional, we took a place in the middle of the small room. service was friendly and excellent. Unfortunately we were not in the mood, but the beer was available both in alcohol and in alcohol-free sorts. also eating was excellent and authentic. my wife was carving was perfect and I experimented with my first liver sausage potato dumpling, which was accompanied by a creamy sour herb. delicious. we stayed even for sweets to the time the restaurant was full of rafters and not even six watches. the bill when she arrived was very reasonable, in the did for the quaility of food and service. they begin, although its very popular from good ground. the atmosphere is very friendly, lively and conjusiw for a good time."

Mainz, a historic city on the Rhine, is known for its wine culture and Spundekäs, a creamy cheese dip often paired with pretzels; it's a central culinary delight.
