"we have made a list before we came to mainz of rekcomends of trip, as we knew it could be difficult to get a place to eat on New Year's Day. after the arrival and on a mooch without a goal wander around the centrum and the old town....Even shortly before four we have tortured hottum down grebenstrasse, we have seen, but with some people who float, we thought we would look further down on the road and when we came back, the weinstube was opened for the business. at least the half of the tables were reserved, but advised that the splitting up of a table was still optional, we took a place in the middle of the small room. service was friendly and excellent. Unfortunately we were not in the mood, but the beer was available both in alcohol and in alcohol-free sorts. also eating was excellent and authentic. my wife was carving was perfect and I experimented with my first liver sausage potato dumpling, which was accompanied by a creamy sour herb. delicious. we stayed even for sweets to the time the restaurant was full of rafters and not even six watches. the bill when she arrived was very reasonable, in the did for the quaility of food and service. they begin, although its very popular from good ground. the atmosphere is very friendly, lively and conjusiw for a good time."

Small restaurant run by one of the better wineries in the district. Fairly simple classic German fare that is well prepared. Wines from the winery. Heavy on whites but the spåtburgunder is a good red. View menu

This place was recommended by a local merchant and we loved it! I had the Wienerschnitzel and my wife had the meatball, both were excellent. The atmosphere is cozy but seating is limited so make a reservation or get there early. As is typical for...small establishments, it is cash only but very reasonably priced.

if you want to enjoy an intimate eating, away from the hectic and driving the city center, weinstube hottum is her place. it is a road from the city center, but perfectly located on the walk to the restaurant and shopping district. The...owner is in front of location and very helpful as they make their wine selection. the wine list is quite extensive. the street eating is perfect this time of the year, but the inner is even better. the ambiente is lovely. I might have been the only visitor. all the others seem to be native, although the owner and partner treated me as if I were a long-term customer. I will definitely return when I visit mainz.

we had one of our best meals in mainz. the environment is traditional, pretty heavy wood and since it was a whole house with a big party when we went, it was loud and busy. while the staff was busy, they were incredibly attentive and very attentive to what we and the other smaller ones needed. with others, no one was left out. we had a fast, friendly service and the staff often stopped to ask if we were in order. the menu was quite small, but concentrated. eating was really good. they must have the carvings, their specificity. it was absolutely excellent (and I am not a great fan of carving to begin) it was so pleasant. good wine list, good value, all in a fun restaurant that they must go to... A very exciting experience that you have to share. You order a good wine from the Manz winery and receive it in a glass. It may well be that this is on the drinks menu... but who is reading this. Sorry..., such a good one Wine for good money also belongs in a suitable wine glass. After asking an employee why this wine was served in a glass, he only got a rude answer... and out of sheer frustration he wanted to transfer it from the glass to a wine glass at the table. A very strange behavior on the part of an employee. After a short time, a nice, friendly lady came and wanted to explain this to us again. Unfortunately, at this point we were very annoyed by the colleague's behavior and we also...

we tried to book this place several times, but couldn't make a booking because they didn't answer the phone. but on a wet night after a walk on the Christmas market, two of our party wandered in hottum for a drink and had luck finding a corner of a table that, as others left, created enough space for the last two of the party. And what a happiness, because it was a really wonderful experience. the service was top notch in the evening; they delivered both German and English menus and there was a wide selection of specialties as well as local dishes. eating was really authentic regional eating and tasty. portions were generous. the wine list of the wine on the glass was very extensive and chea...
