"To start off the staff are so lovely and friendly at the old inn and always cater to all needs. We had the best Sunday roast dinner we have had in a long time! The place is always clean and well presented. Thank you for...our lovely meal"

"We saw this quiet looking cafe and went inside to order. Young girls working there chatting. We asked if they were serving and they were quite rude. Brought out a scone with jam and the cream on the side despite me asking for a plain one. The hot dog and shake for £5 was low standard. It took about 20 mins for a cheap bread bun with 2 tiny sausages from a tin, they drowned it in ketchup. My drink “lemonade” arrived warm in an Asda can with no glass etc. when I asked for a glass with ice they looked shocked. Our other meal the Greek chicken dish the chicken was so hard and overcooked. It was a bad lunch experience with a rude server."

"In the past few years, dining at this restaurant has been a hit-or-miss experience. More often than not, when you come in wanting a beer, they may be out of one or more options. My first visit out of the last three was quite good, with Tribute on tap and delicious meals. This led us to return for a second visit. However, on the second visit, Tribute was not available, so we chose not to stay. The third visit was better, with a friendly female bartender and helpful server named Dan. Although Tribute was still not available, another real ale was on offer. The meals were satisfying, but the cold cannonball peas could use improvement. It would make a big difference to serve them hot. It is important to always have a good selection of real ales and to train staff to not serve cloudy beer. Overall, there are improvements to be made, but the potential is there."

"1st visit...Had a lot of expectation, and it almost made 5 stars. I know that the waiting staff have a difficult task, but a smile, and good of response to questions go a long way. My son asked a male waiter a question around the menu and was given a very curt response. It had taken me a while to encourage him to ask himself, and this single bad reply really upset him. Other than that, good food and atmosphere."

"The food is terrible, I ordered a “gourmet” burger it was a burger bun that u get from the supermarket! Cold cheese out of the packet and my friends eggs were rock hard!!! We also ordered a med rare steak and it came out black and didn’t taste like beef more like pork, the peppercorn sauce was cold and was gross, and I’m appalled 30+ for that food and it tasted like I bought it from Aldi and cooked it. So so Appalled and will never return as tasted like absolute garbage ! And too top it off my onion ring was soggy!"

"Absolutely horrendous. About of menu was unavailable due to stock issues. That’s fine, but advise me when I walk in, don’t wait for me to order then say “ haven’t got that”. I go with alternative, “haven’t got that !!” and so on for...about five or six selections. Then waitress blamed Premier Inn for not taking items off their menu in the rooms. Uh, they’re Beefeater menus!!. Food was cold as it was left on the pass for minutes, when I asked for hot food I was looked at as though I had two heads. Then to top it off I used an NHS card for discount but they didn’t discount all the options as some were in a course’ deal. So I missed out there as well. Would never go back by choice."

"What a disappointment. Food was less than ok, cold and hard chicken, no cutlery bought to us, even after asking for it there was none at the other end of the restaurant where we were told to get it from. 8 minutes the staff member took to find some and it was all grubby. A manager was rude to my child and pulled up on it by a young member of staff. No one knew the menu. Floor was sticky, table was super loud squeaky and although I understand plastic being served in the children’s area it was in such poor condition the water resembled muddy water. Would not go back and would not recommend. Only good thing was 2 members of staff Alexi and Conner. Both went out of their way to make up for others poor customer service and shocking management behaviour."

"After waiting two weeks for a response to the problems we had I feel I now have to write this review. Having arrived at the hotel the check in was fine although the person checking us in seemed a little frazzled but he was quite clearly understaffed so I can ignore that. We had a family room and it left a lot to be desired. Peeling wallpaper water marks mild in the bathroom and doors falling off. As it was only for one night we let that go although on reflection we probably should have said something. The problems really started at around 11pm when the couple upstairs got to their room so began the screaming the shouting the moving and throwing of furniture. Now I know the hotel can’t know this is going to happen but it went on for nearly 5hrs. We attempted to contact reception nobody there then we realised we needed to ring the out of hours no which we did repeatedly and nobody answered. They eventually shut up and we all went to sleep only to be woken again around 6. So after a night of very little sleep we went down for breakfast. We spoke to the person on duty who went and did some investigating and he came back and told us that the out of hours phone had been switched off all night and that’s why we couldn’t get through. He then proceeded to say that once a guest had checked into their room they can and I quote pretty much do what they liked. He also said that as the phone had been switched off he would have to escalate the complaint and we should receive a response within 48 hrs and if we didn’t to ring the hotel he did however as a gesture of good will refund the breakfast. We didn’t receive a response we rung the hotel who then told us it could take up to two weeks. We waited two weeks we had no response we rung the hotel again to be told sorry nothings been done yet. It’s unfortunate because the hotels in a great position with lovely sea views and it could be spectacular but we just feel like we wasted our money and it wasn’t the lovely start to our holiday we’d anticipated. Should we ever receive an outcome to our complaint I will update this review."

"This beautiful Victorian hotel is right on the seafront a few minutes from the pier and the beach. Your very close by to all the things you could want, plenty of bars restaurants and attractions. I was there for only a night as we were going to see Some Guys have all the luck The Rod Stewart story) but would have been happy to stay the week. The staff are very professional and very helpful The food was great with a menu that had a good choice of dishes maybe could do with a couple more vegetarian dishes but otherwise great. You can sit outside even if it's raining as its covered and even has heating. It is a bit difficult if you are with restricted mobility and whilst there is a lift you still have to tackle stairs . The room we had was lovely very spacious clean and airy with a lovely view, one drawback in the room for a room with 3 people sharing there was only a tiny single wardrobe which didn't matter for us 3 staying for 1 night but any longer that wardrobe would only do for one but there was plenty of drawer space having a few chest of drawers. All In all we enjoyed our stay apart from the noisy guests that prevented us from getting any sleep which the night porter should have stepped up and calmed it down a bit, otherwise we had a lovely stay and after a lovely breakfast had plenty of time to vacate our room. Thank you to the staff who were very professional friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The only drawback was we didnt get any sleep as being on the seafront there were rowdy people shouting and making noise passing by and on this occasion there was a rowdy crowd in the hotel which went on till 5am, which when we complained the next morning were told the night porter should have put a stop to it because they were running up and down the stairs being very loud and laughing generally having a good time which is why your there but they should have respect for other guests as the hotel was fully booked."

"Where to start . . . Clues were there tucked away in the bizzare spelling mistakes on the menu but I persevered going for a prawn cocktail starter and the grilled salmon as a main, as those listings were free of the spelling mistakes which put me off the Balognesec Pasta Homemad Cilli. The prawn cocktail starter was ridiculously awful. Four leaves of wilted lettuce with a blob of some sort of redish sauce contained eight tiny cardboard like stale pieces of inedible material. They may well had been potential prawns at some point but these quarter inch offerings were no doubt the cheapest available to the pub but sadly unlike any food offerings I 've previously encountered. I felt awkward having to complain but the delightful girl behind the bar apologised profusely, informing me that they had a new chef and asked if I 'd like an alternative starter. I went for the breaded mushrooms, she promised a few extra to compensate for my dismay. Fair enough. She returned with seven mushrooms and a little paper pot with some not very garlicy maionaise contained. This was at least edible. Then came a plate with a two inch long serving of a leather based piece of something that may have been fish based at some point but had been dried out and shrunk by over enthusiastic grilling, ten dried and wrinkly new potatoes and a spoonful of dried out peas. No sign of the drizzle of garlic butter or the broccoli. For the first time in my life I sent the food back. It was an embarrassment for both myself and the innocent girl behind the bar. So come for a drink but consider your options if you need to eat as the local area is brimming with places that offer better, or at least edible food."

"A good size McDonald's with drive thru that has seating both inside out plus plenty of parking, I ordered a double quarter pounder with cheese meal with a banana milkshake from one of the self service machines, no receipt was given so I had to remember my order number hoping that I didn't have to supply proof that I had already paid. I waited for quite some time as it was quite busy when I visited, but after my number was called out to collect my meal I found myself a table to sit at found everything to be very nice, unlike the customer on the next table that didn't stop complaining about everything he had in front of him who still wasn't happy even after the manager brought him over a freshly made meal."

"Some friends and I went to Monsoon for Thursday's banquet night. You each get a starter, a main meal each, a side to share, a rice to share and a naan to share, and it's plenty of food to enjoy for £11.95, which also includes a glass of house red or white wine. We couldn't fault anything! The service was great, and the food was delicious! Looking forward to going back already."

"Have been coming here for years with family and seen many changes. Cath is much missed, such a character. It’s not the same, but good enough and the food is always reliably decent. We come less often but I’ve been here a few times with friends recently and want to mention two particularly lovely staffs. Julie and Elliot. They’re so welcoming and polite give great service every time. I have to mention that I saw a table of quite rude people last time we were in. They were giving Elliot a really hard time, unfairly, to the point that we asked them to lay off. Impressed at how calm and Uber polite he stayed, just trying to placate them. Well done Elliott! Then they laid into a senior person ? called Matt as well. I think Sidcot dealt with this situation well. Well done. Thanks."

"We popped in for a light lunch on a Friday just before 1pm. 2 out of 3 of the party were after a soft drink, which were both advertised on the board behind the till. Unfortunately, these were both out of stock. One of us ordered a cup of tea and we were shocked to note the price, which was the same as a cup of coffee. No extra hot water was provided until asked and so a very small pot of tea is provided for the price to begin with. During our visit, the tea cup was accidently knocked, resulting in a spillage. The gentleman helped us to it clear up, however we were not offered a new tea cup or saucer and so had to use a saucer full of tea, until the lady noted and gave us paper towels to soak up the split tea on the saucer. We all wanted to order a panini for lunch, but were told these were all sold out by 1pm (on a busy Friday lunchtime). We all opted for toasted sandwiches instead, however we had to wait around 20-25 minutes for 3x toasted sandwiches and unfortunately they were very basic. The bread was just about toasted, the tomato chucks were far to big for the small sandwich, which meant some bread was soggy and the onion slices were huge and unedable as a result. The tuna was also not mixed with any mayo, so with cheese, it was rather dry. The side salad was very basic with no salad dressing and they all came out looking different on the 3x plates. For the price of £9 each, they didn't even come with crisps. We understand the price of everything has increased dramatically and wouldn't mind paying £9, if what was provided was of good quality and on par with what is served elsewhere. At the end of our lunch, we were not asked if everything was OK and I wonder if that was because the waiting staff knew it wasn't?"

"It was Mother’s Day and I booked the Afternoon Tea for 4 plus and grandson in high chair. We are local and use Tiffin but the special tea was a first and it did not disappoint. Fresh finger sandwiches, wonderful scones, and plenty of dinky cakes ‘petit four’ type. Had to ask for more clotted cream which was no problem. Better that than have people waste it. We couldn’t eat it all, boxes were provided to take away. Tea pots were replenished too. A very good tea. Service can on occasion be hit and miss, but on that very busy day, it was great. We were served by Holly and another young lady, both very pleasant, plus a very efficient young man."

"After trying to book a table monday all after noon and just getting an answerphone my friend went down to Kaspas and booked a table with the manager for the following day for five and left contact details,on arriving at Kaspas we were told no bookings were allowed and that we could not have a table even though we had booked one the day before the member of staff was very argumentative and was saying we couldnt have a table, after being at work all day and having children with us that had been looking forward to going i was not going to leave without being seen especially after my friend booking a table in advance. We eventually got a table after waiting out side but when my friend went up to order her food she was shouted at my a member of staff she should have a mask on and that everyone out side was looking at her,i find this very strange behaviour when every other person that went up and was eating in was not told the same.In all we will not return due to rudeness of staff and think they need re training."

"This roadside cafe near Lympsham selling traditional English food is easy to miss unless you are a regular on the A370 road into Weston-super-Mare. It is part of the Mores Motor Company garage so if you are a Ford RS enthusiast or owner (like me) you can browse the cars after your meal here. I thought the food on offer was good value, I had a cappuccino in a mug at a bargain £1.50 and a brie/cranberry open sandwich with salad at £5.80. The service was efficient and the food delicious. There are seats indoors and outdoors and a very clean customer toilet. The only downside I could see is that there was just one person serving on the day I visited so there might well be a wait for service at busy times. The cafe is open every day except Sunday. Recommended."

"My experience at the Langford restaurant for Sunday dinner was not good. We were a group of five and encountered issues from the start. We waited at the bar for over ten minutes without being served, and had to seek out a staff member to inquire about our table. My £22 roast beef was served lukewarm, and after requesting it to be reheated, it took five minutes and still wasn't returned to me. The cauliflower cheese was also lukewarm, bordering on cold. My wife's roast chicken was missing the sage sausage roll, and when we mentioned this to the manager, he insisted it was not supposed to come with anything. A quick look at the menu proved otherwise, but the manager seemed disengaged, possibly tired or under the influence. The service was poor, with younger staff only focused on clearing tables. We waited 20 minutes to pay and eventually had to go to the bar to settle our bill as the staff did not return with the card machine. Overall, the food was cold, the service was terrible, and the prices were too high. We do not plan on returning to this restaurant."

"Sadly the roast beef dinner was under seasoned and overpriced. The meat had the consistency of a microwaveable meal cooked in gravy that was congealed. You had to pay extra if you wanted cauliflower cheese which was better described as cauliflower in a white sauce...."
