"We visited the Bakers Arms on Sunday, en route to see Giffords Circus in Stroud. It is the last weekend of the season, so for us, an annual visit. I’m so glad we booked, because this is one busy pub! Admittedly, it was a little chaotic parking, however, we managed to park, and the landlady offered our friends The opportunity to park in the private car parking area. There were eight of us in our group. We arrived early, and had some relaxed drinks outside. At 1 pm, our table was ready, two of our guests had not arrived, and I informed the bar we would be delayed slightly, this was not a problem. We were shown to our table, an extensive menu many wonderful dishes to choose from. And we are all pleasantly surprised at the cost. One of our party chose the Vege Burger. Two decided on the Cheese Burgers and the other five of us all had roasts. Three opted for the rib of beef, and my daughter the pork. The meat was so tender and flavoursome, the vegetables fresh and crisp and the roast potatoes just simply perfect finished with stuffing, crackling and lashings of gravy. The service was relaxed and friendly and also very attentive. For dessert, some had ice cream, and my daughter opted for the Banoffee pie. We will certainly return, this time next year without any hesitation and look forward to it. And if you’ve not ever seen Giffords Circus, I certainly recommend it!
