"Last weekend, I took a walk through Slad Valley and made sure to stop by The Woolpack. This charming old pub has a wonderfully authentic atmosphere, with cozy, vibrant sections and exits at both ends. We settled in with some locals and enjoyed a refreshing drink of apfelsine, a quiet and flavorful cider from Dunkerton’s. The pub has a rich history, and the locals have a deep appreciation for Laurie Lee's works, often engaging in lively conversation. We loved the experience so much that we ended up booking a table for dinner, which was absolutely delicious. The house wines were among the best I've ever tasted. There is a genuine pride in this place; the food is ample and hearty, yet the pub’s original character remains intact, which is why it attracts so many visitors."

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant where I enjoyed a delightful meal that included Cornish sole, perfectly fried sardines, and a decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. Each dish was prepared with care and truly showcased the flavors beautifully.

Had a great meal here on Friday night the restaurant bar was packed so there was a great atmosphere. Had the devilled kidneys to start wanted the pork chop but it had sold out so had the beef which was delicious. Would definitely recommend getting food here but you would need to book. I ordered a 'Dexter Surloin ' steak, rare. Small and chewy. The accompanying vegetables were...one tiny pickled walnut and a teaspoon of horseradish. Whoopy do. A few boiled potatoes cost an extra £6 and a feeble salad £9. Together with a half of IPA: £46. Which included an outrageous 12.5% service charge. I would normally give 5% tip, which seems historically about right. I would not eat here again, although it 's olde-world charm inside is such that I might have a drink.
