"Lunch at Trafford College's Aspire Restaurant was a most pleasant experience. I was part of a large party that enjoyed an excellent Christmas lunch which you would never have guessed was cooked by students. The starters were excellent. I enjoyed Mackerel on a bed of beetroot whoever put the beetroot together will go far in my estimation. The fish was cooked perfectly and it was well presented. Other starters (Mushroom soup, Goat's cheese tart to name but two) were well received by my fellow diners. I went traditional and opted for the Turkey well presented, cooked just how I like it and truly delicious. I got similar feedback from the pork mains and other options. My Christmas pudding was tasty and quite the ticket! Other desserts were equally well received. So do yourself a favour and check it out you might just be as pleased as I am!"

"Sadly since Kim and his wife no longer have the Gold Lion, it has gone downhill. The Gold Lion was renowned for it's curry which I know was made up from a powder; it was the best for miles without a doubt. Also Kim would...always do me a half and half (vegetables Quorn); even a half portion with rice. Nothing was too much trouble. When the new owners took over they refused to do my half and half; telling my husband only what is on the list We stopped going there until recently when we thought we would have our usuals for old time's sake. Sadly it seems the curry is definitely not the same that Kim used. It was lacking in punch and flavour, and even the quorn was different. We tried once more but again, the flavour and punch just wasn't there so we won't be using them again (Unless Kim and his wife come back : ."

"Ordered for myself as a treat whilst looking after a poorly family member. Sadly almost all of it is going in the bin! Fortunately I ordered the house mix starter for one and that was actually really nice. The house special fried rice in sauce was vile. All I could smell when I opened the lid was boiled fatty duck with thick fat on. There was nothing fried about this dish at all. Everything was steamed and the rice was hard. So lid back on that one and on to the chicken with cashew. Sadly the sauce on this dish was exactly the same as the sauce on the rice. I've never had chicken with cashew that tasted like this! Again tasteless and the chicken was a very strange rubbery consistency. I'm not totally disappointed as I enjoyed the starter, but the rest wasn't pleasant so it will be going in the bin. I hate waste whether it be money or food, but I can't eat it. Sadly even the prawn crackers didn't taste right."

"I popped into propeller coffee in sale for a quick, and quiet coffee. Had a cappuccino with oat milk which was delicious. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and was happy with the blend. The service was quick and friendly. And the ambiance is much nicer than the bustle and noise of the main street coffee shops. There were a few other customers in and out when I was there. All seemed very relaxed and happy. Its clearly a popular place with the locals! Keep up the good work Propeller Coffee! You made my frustrating trip to the bank today a more happy event ;"

"Cosy, independent cafe out of the way in Kings Way offering a varied brunch menu, sandwiches and some main courses for lunch. I have stopped there for breakfast brunch quite a few times now, the food has always been fresh, and tasty and the service very good. The owner is the chef, he uses quality ingredients and is friendly, just like its staff. The brunch menu is a 'global international ' menu inspired by different countries including Austria (potatoes, lardons), Tunisia (Merguez sausage), Spain etc alongside the more traditional full english dishes and eggs benedict. I have had the full veggie and the eggs benedicts several times, always very nice, plenty on the plate and good value for money, even more so wednesday to friday when there is free coffee or tea alongside any breakfast. Highly recommend."

"Have spent a nice trip round the museum we stopped for a drink and a cake. Partial to an eccles cake and since they looked homemade I had one with my coffee, the lady serving was very pleasant and told me they make their own. This was probably the best eccles cake I've ever had, spiced to perfection. I ate it, went back and bought the rest of the stock to take home. Sorry if I left none for anyone else, but I wasn't going to miss out on eating more of them. If you like eccles cakes, come here."

"While on a day out to watch The Corrs at the M.E.N Arena six of us were looking for something to eat which isn't easy when there is six . We were walking in the direction of the Printworks but found this lovely little Italian en-route. The entrance was enticing enough being a beautifully set out deli shop/ coffeehouse. The restaurant is in the basement and has well set out tables and chairs. We were escorted to a little private cubicle as there was so many of us. The walls were covered with wine bottles on racks and the lighting set low but not dark the whole ambiance of the place was excellent. The waiting staff were first class advising on the meals and drinks. The food was to die for and not a lasagna or bolognese to be seen, either on the menu or plate, this was The Real Italian. First class place, first class service, first class food."

"I chose this restaurant for the area close to Old Trafford and the reviews were good. I had contacted the restaurant and they told me parking was free for customers.Even on match night. After parking my car I was rudely approached by an attendant who insisted I paid £10 to park, I was more than happy to pay but explained that we believed parking was free for customers. This matter was eventually cleared up with the restaurant reception, not the hotel reception. After seating in the restaurant, we were handed the menu, the choice was appauling, burger and chips, chilli and chips, steak and chips, gammon egg and chips.. There had been a change of management only 6 days before our visit. The skeleton staff could only do their best and we waited a long time to be served. We were told by the waitress there was a long wait for food , we decided to stay and wait as the only other option was to go to a local chippy or Tesco for takeaway food. The food was okay, and our visit made pleasant by the waitress who did her very best to make our visit more comfortable. When we returned to the carpark after the match our car was blocked in and we had to wait in the bar till the owner of the offending car returned, no big deal however but it did make our journey home incredibly late. Dispite what I had planned for a special occasion for a friend all going slightly wrong, we still had a good time."

"We booked in the Kashmir for a pre match curry . Staff were attentive , the ambience was very good . Drinks and poppadums were provided almost immediately . The meals were good and authentic . My only negative was the main courses were a little slow in arriving . The restaurant was busy but not overly . We had hoped to be clear by 7 after arriving at 5.30 . Got away nearer 7.30 . Overall , a pleasing experience and decent value quality food . Well worth another visit ."

"We eat here most weeks and went to the previous restaurant too. The food is good and I like the informal dining experience. However, the regular waitress (tall lady, green apron), is incredibly rude and grumpy. We normally laugh to ourselves as she doesn’t acknowledge you, never smiles and has zero customer service skills. Tonight, she served our starters (which had been sat on the hot counter for 15 minutes) and our prawn crackers after our main course. She didn’t speak to us or acknowledge us at all. We are always overly polite and courteous to compensate for her behaviour. We decided that we wouldn’t return again, as I’d rather spend my money in places which appreciate it. Very disappointing as the food is good. You lost a weekly family customer."

"We recently dined here for a special occasion. I was a little disappointed with the service. We had reserved a table while we sat at the bar. When we went to be seated, we were told that the kitchen was no longer accepting orders!!! This led to a very uncomfortable confrontation until we were finally seated. I'm not sure why this happened, as we had a reservation and the restaurant had 7 empty tables. It seemed like the owners and the chef were overwhelmed with capacity of 800. The food, however, was excellent. But if it were my restaurant on a Saturday night with empty tables at 8 pm, I would be questioning why. The restaurant has great food, but the service needs to be improved."
