"The restaurant was poorly managed, very quiet, and lacked any ambiance. We had to wait a long time for someone to take our order and were disappointed to find that many dishes were not available, including crocodile steak. The only exotic meat option was zebra. Despite my 11-year-old son being too old to be classified as a child, they did not offer any child-friendly options. We were served a burnt burger with no cheese and fries coated in a spice my son couldn't eat. It took a long time to get our bill, which was overpriced and included a 12.5% service fee. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. I don't mind paying for quality food, service, and atmosphere, as I recently had a great meal in Florida for over £300. The Zulu dish at this establishment was far from a pleasant experience or tasty bite. Overall, it was a complete letdown."

"I commiserate with all those at VICINO who were suddenly severely understaffed and thus had to cut back the menu to the bare minimum leaving very little choice for customers. A great pity because normally, VICINO is known for well cooked traditional Italian dishes with a good choice fir everyone. Last night, the choice, the atmosphere and the mood were low. I’m sure it will recover because it is a Fulham staple. Look forward to a recovery"

"Haven't visited this place recently, as we've not had many warm summer evenings of late, but and these seem few and far between.The restaurant is one of a chain of Spaghetti Houses in central London and is within easy walking distance of the British Museum. Its charm is the large, open air shopping arcade in which it is situated.It itself, this restaurant is a decent, run-of-the-mill outlet specialising in simple, Italian dishes, all suitably tuned to the average, British taste. The wine list is standard and has a good range of low-budget wines to suit just about any non-discerning wine buff. The menu is simple and not too detailed, but with enough choice to cater for (almost) every carnivore, with vegetarian options available too. The choice of pasta dishes is extensive and they always seem to find special shapes of pasta that you just cannot buy in any shop! The quality of the food has never disappointed.The thing that has always attracted us to this place is not just the tasty pasta dishes, but also the wide, quite grand, Victorian' arcade. It is lined with small shops and book stores and the restaurant has created a very pleasant and comfortable dining area with rows of tables and chairs to the side of the walkway. So simple, yet very useful if you don't want to sit inside a warm, crowded restaurant in the summer or if you have a pushchair and young children, or if you have an elderly relative with a zimmer frame or in a wheelchair.The staff are always really good with young children and very friendly. Each time we've visited they have always been an all-Italian crew. And very jolly they are too!"

"I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. Great food that always tastes freshly cooked. Pleasant service from a team that give the family feel of an independent restaurant. "I have dined at Carluccios for the last 9 years and I will never stop going. They only criticism I have is the spinach balls are so small now and the pasta portion has got a lot smaller. But I do love the dish. I have bought the Carluccios cook book and I do make my own spinach balls and lot bigger."

"menu choice: this had a very refined menu that reflected itself in the quality of food that came from the kitchen. to use a table of 14 simultaneously without problems. thete was a vegetarian option, although the one produced in the night was slightly burned on the floor and was easily mixed in taste. service please: the arrival was a little delayed, but that was a Christmas menu and can be expected. there is a bar that is up to get a drink while they wait. the personal was very accommodating and for the greatest part it was inviting. some employees seemed stressed and less satisfied with providing a good service. affordable: great quality for the price, but with regard to affordable it depends on their budget. this is not a mcdonalds menu; but I found that this was just a little over a box-sub menu, but the quality was much better. accessible: easy access from ground floor, but toilets are upstairs in the second floor. the bar is also in the second floor, while the table service is below, but you can order drinks from the edible. Just note that if they need a supported mobility, this could be a problem for them. extended family (teppiche): no pets unfortunately, but this is more a bistro, so take one night and pick up the pet seater, and relax and enjoy yourself. Conclusion: large menu choice and for the best part was the eating delicious and the price tag well worth. the service was really good, only the strange member of the staff seems to be less than enthusiastic. remember, barrier-freeness could be a problem for those who are in the supported mobility. "The restaurant was extremely quiet and the main dishes took a long time to be served. When they finally arrived, the side dishes were cold, which was surprising considering there were only 6 people in the restaurant. The steak was flavorful but a little tough. The service was not very good, as we had to repeatedly ask for water. The staff was accommodating in taking items off the bill for being cold, but overall I would not return to this restaurant."

"My wife and I make it a point to have a meal out at least once a month. Our previous experiences at this restaurant have been very good. We started with appetizers as usual, but when I ordered a medium rare filet steak, it came out well-done. I was disappointed to hear the staff try to convince me that it was cooked to the correct temperature. I shouldn't have to explain the difference between medium rare and well-done. Eventually, they replaced my steak with a medium rare one, but only after my wife had finished her meal."

"It’s a nice pub with a good feel to the place. The staff were polite and efficient. We unfortunately had table 5 which is next to an old chimney. There was a cold breeze coming from it so we sat with our coats over our knees and pulled the table away from the metal hood which because it was overhanging the table meant that the cold air dropped onto the table surface and wafted across the top, cooling our hands and potentially our meals, had we not pulled it away. Most of the meals were tasty but the squash arancini were under-seasoned and the squash in them tasteless. A vegan apple crumble might have been good but the addition of mango put us off. It wasn’t cheap, worked out at £33 a head, with two courses being eaten and two out of 4 of us on soft drinks, but I guess the cost of living increases have hit everywhere. We’d probably go again, but wouldn’t rush back."

"My wife and I enjoyed a lunch with excellent service throughout. Relaxed atmosphere and surroundings added to the positivity of the experience with just one minor negative to prompt a comment. Both of us felt our main courses could have been served ‘hotter’. Some argue that food that is too hot denies you enjoying the flavours of the meal but our personal preference is for food to be hot. "Firstly .. the whole restaurant needs a complete overhaul .. shoddy and shabby dated decor .. the light fittings were thick with dust and grease .. sat facing mirrors .. my view dirty walls and skirting boards, dried out imitation plants and dirty velour chairs at the table facing me .. the music was loud and inappropriate for a restaurant Bare tables, no condiments. My £8 glass of wine was served in the most basic of cheap wine glasses .. water served in a glass with a straw stuck in it .. no jug for the table .. dirty shabby menus .. ordered crispy beef. .. served luke warm and not crispy.. asked the obvious crispy beef ?? to be told it’s crispy beef but not crispy as it’s their signature dish which is crispy beef but not crispy .. makes no sense .. ordered mushroom bruschetta to have a scorched wedge of ciabatta and a few mushrooms .. red pepper in the mix of the concoction with very little sauce .. the young boy who served us was very apologetic and did his best in the circumstances. To be sat in this restaurant was not only a depressing environment and experience the food is completely overpriced from what appears to be cooked by a cook .. not a chef .. for this restaurant to be trading there must be very little competition in the area for them to get away with serving what they serve in canteen surrounding .."

"Location, service and food were good. Problem was that of the 7 of us that dined there on Saturday night, 6 were vomiting by the next morning. Not been this ill in 20 years, and just recovering 24hrs later. The common denominator was maybe the olives to start. Real shame as it’s a lovely place with good service and food. I’ve got to question the hygiene practices after such an experience as I’ve been fortunate to never have had gastroenteritis in the UK, as I’m usually very careful. The added irony is that I’m a Gastroenterologist."

"Made a visit to The Angel after establishing that it was once again a restaurant post Covid. The reservation system is a little outdated as there's no contact number and communication is only by email. On this visit the food was very good but not outstanding. It would have been a pleasant experience but for the atmosphere inside the place, deathly quiet. What service we received was fine, quite friendly when in operation but attracting attention was a challenge. Our orders taken, our food delivered but no casual visit to ask if things were ok or to see if we needed anything. This isn't helped by the fact that diners are seated in different rooms within the building but bearing this in mind perhaps the staff should make an effort to move around restaurant to check in with diners more frequently. Overall the experience was pleasant, the food good, the deserts superb, however for the price we paid I would choose a more relaxing and warm dining experience, available at other high quality restaurants in the area, in favour of The Angel."

"Food was fine as usual service though was awful. Were not offered the usual bread olive dip to start that other tables got and have had before. Were not even offered dessert or menus for desert . Staff were generally sullen. Had to pay at bar as waited too long after i asked for bill. Worst of all when i was asked how was the meal when i paid i politely gave my opinion as above the rather precocious girl with an attitude offered no apology and just said that they were very busy and did not have staff . I remarked that i had been there since 7 pm and the restaurant was mostly empty so did not get the ‘busy’ bit she again no apology) just repeated they were busy and did not have staff. All she had to do was apologise and i would have felt slightly better about the whole experience. Not returning again"

"December 17, 2019 Very disappointed in our meal tonight. The fish and lobster pie had no lobster in it and very little fish. The size of the dish was also quite small and left me feeling hungry. When I mentioned how dissatisfied I was with the quality of the pie and the lack of lobster and very small quantity of fish the waiter said she would let the kitchen know. She returned to say that the manager had been informed of my comments on the meal. But the manager never came to speak to our complaint and the only thing that was offered to us was a free dessert. It was a overpriced considering there was hardly any fish and no lobster at all in a £14.00 fish and lobster pie. This was a much anticipated return visit as our last dinner here was very good."

"Called in this evening at half seven, and there were a few empty tables. Four people looking dinner having read reviews and noting kitchen advertised as open to half eight. Asked the barmaid if still serving food and was told yes and take an empty table. Went up to barman and asked for menu to be told the kitchen is not really open! Explained we had just been told it was and he replied ‘well we don’t have a lot left’. Then we asked ‘well what do you have left?’ and the answer was not a list of dishes but the bluntly delivered ‘well it will be a long wait’. Rude and unwelcoming so we told him ‘tell you what, you clearly don’t want to serve us, thanks for the inhospitable welcome. We are going elsewhere’. Atrocious, rude, and clearly just could not be bothered!"

"it matched my mood tired, thirsty and antisocial. One of the coworkers did that the thing not to see them in the eyes when they pass them their drink, and they say thank you for him (maybe I was too successful, my leave me look alone! . it should not annoy me, but that does it. after he said that the place has a nice mood to him. drinks prices seem appropriate for the venue. I didn't try to eat. I would probably come back if in brackish and wanted to chill on a Friday afternoon."
