"Service, service, service.... The treatment we received was efficient, bordering on surley. No time to crack a smile or answer a question. Some of the food was good. The tunna carpaccio was on point, though wanting for a drizzle of oil. A second course of lobster ravioli served as a main, rather than the second starter I asked for, my companion called “school canteen” food, tough packets of lobster flavoured gunk, more in common with packet ravioli from tesco’s than the lose, silky, self evidently hand made parcels of fresh crustacean I was hoping for. The butter and sage sauce was nowhere to be seen, I believe there were chopped tomatoes instead. The veal was good, sadly not to be had, as promised on line, with capers. The side of beans was as confronting as our server it was so al dente. A bowl of freshly grated parmisan left on our table by another server was a benediction. The bill: £82 change our drinks were a smallish a bottle of sparking water at nearly £5. I had worked out the costing of this meal based on the menu posted online at around £55 60 for actual food drink items. Apparently the new post Brexit/covid/war prices haven't made it on line yet the ravioli main course has gone up from £20 to £26. Even with the 15% service charge we could not have anticipated spending £82 on three plates, a side a bottle of water. Though I specified I wanted the plates in succession making the ravioli a second course before the main as pasta should be in Italy, the two plates were brought together as two mains, not what I had hoped for fair enough, it was after nine by the time we walked in, however it would have been nice to be asked before the chef/server took the executive role for us. With £90 in cash on the table the prevalent attitude was the balance would be a tip on top of the service charge. 25% for service? Possibly ok, if it was pleasant: that we had to ask for our change tells you about the service put a sour note on top of an already kinda dismal meal. I rarely eat out, this was my special treat place, I live around the corner. I thought I was so clever bringing a guest here, the experience was significantly different from the last few times (incidentally, I’ve always sat outside in the past and it’s cramped inside I ended up feeling embarrassed sad. I don't think I’ll be back soon. Here’s to cooking at home. :"

"Amazing food, even better service. Visited this restaurant for my dad’s birthday, along with 8 of my family. The restaurant was very busy, and it was only a Tuesday evening (which I think is usually a good sign). 2 of the party were small children, one with allergies to oats, milk, soy etc. Our waitress Maria had complete knowledge of the menu and went out of her way to organise vegan ingredients (without oats) were purchased from a store nearby so my nephew could enjoy a meal (and the 2.5 year old ate his entire pizza). This was just one display of how brilliant Maria was. She was quick to organise our tables drinks and deliver them, gave us time to explore the menu and took our orders in perfect time, there wasn’t a single moment we felt rushed or forgotten, exemplary service and intuition from Maria. I can’t remember the last time I received such perfect service from start to finish. She has great humour, is smiley, happy, approachable and knowledgeable, a total asset to the restaurant. The other waitress and mixologist/bar man were also entirely lovely and gave great service (didn’t catch their names). The food was delicious, good portion sizes, lovely and flavoursome and it’s clear a lot of love and time goes into making, designing and presenting the dishes. Really great Italian menu, which has options for everyone, and doesn’t overdo it with a silly amount of linguine and pasta choices (just the right amount of diverse options). Atmosphere is great too, and upstairs and a downstairs, with decor that feels very authentically Italian, and music playing at the right volume (which is where so many go wrong, when it’s so loud you can’t have conversations). It’s a must visit, can’t wait to go back! The best customer service and incredible food! Couldn’t fault a single thing!"

"To be honest, I must begin by saying how impressed I was with the quality of the vegetarian chilli freak pizza we ordered. it was probably perfect with a delicious crust and tantalizing good amounts of seasoned and heat made – it's just a shame with it. what came before him. during a period of control, in which hygiene measures should be paramount in the food industry and in the takeaway kitchen, we were very disappointed that the workers in the work should not keep through these guidelines, do not wear masks, bart nets, gloves and, terrible to deal with meat without washing their hands before spreading vegetarian toppings. this is very, very bad and something that I will write to papa John’s directly, because (as depicted) zero attention or caresss seems given to their customers behind the scenes. not even wearing disposable gloves or masks with so widespread, I find deeply disturbing. it is therefore a challenge for me to forgive John’s in brentwood all more than two stars. we also have to address the cost of food on their menu. for only a large pizza, they can pay almost gbp that is exorbitant! there is a clear lack of friendly customer service and I think waiting times can be quite long when the place is busy. so, everything in all, while the pizza might have been deletable and makes formidable opposition in comparison to a pizza hat order, behind the scenes there is really much work seemingly to do. it seems pretty dirty."
