"Excellent food but the evening was spoiled because instead of bringing the Carafe of White Vermentino that we ordered a very expensive £60 bottle was brought to us. The waiter insisted that this was what we had ordered even though the wine was not even white but orange. This bottle was eventually replaced by another £40 bottle of white Vermentino which we accepted. When the bill arrived we had been charged for both bottles with a discount on the first that we had sent back. After much wrangling and telephone conversation between the waiter and the manager we declined to pay for any part of the orange wine or the service charge I spoke with the manager the next day who didn't accept any responsibility for what had happened basically saying that the waiter's version of events differed and that she wasn't there so could not comment. She eventually conceded that the waiter's one fault was that he could be slightly inattentive and she admitted that the orange Vermentino should not have been listed under white wine. She also admitted that she had not authorised the charge made on the returned bottle. After asking me to repeat my version of events four times and saying she couldn't understand it she finally said that she was sorry we hadn't enjoyed the evening. We won't be returning and I would recommend anyone going there to check both the wine brought to them and their bill carefully"

"Faced with last-minute New Year's plans, we were attracted by the convenient location and Mediterranean small plates menu in a pub setting. When we learned that the New Years menu was a fixed price mix of Mediterranean appetizers and traditional English roast beef or salmon, we thought that would please our party of diners so long as we could share plates and not have a full-price dinner for each person. The fixed assortment of Mediterranean appetizers included a duck pate which we asked to be substituted or removed, but the argumentative server insisted it couldn't be changed and it eventually came to the table anyway. Otherwise, the appetizers were unremarkable and proved to be the best part of the meal. After a loooong wait, the entrees of roast beef and salmon arrived. Both were extremely overcooked, slathered in unappealing sauces, and none of the accompanying vegetables were as advertised in the menu. The food quality was below that of a school lunch room. When we pointed out the differences and requested the listed Yorkshire pudding, the servers told us we must have had the wrong menus. We asked for a correct one but it was never produced. The miserable evening ground on for more than two hours with intermittent and unpleasant service from the staff. We eventually complained to the manager and he had the grace to subtract one fixed price meal from the charge. It was still an overpriced, memorably bad dining experience."

"We arrived a little early and as our table wasn't ready we went to wash our hands. The stench of stale urine en route should have alerted us as to what to expect. However, to our disappointment we stayed. We were given the menus and left to make our choices. The place was fairly busy and very noisy as there were a couple of large groups. Eventually the waiter and waitress?? came to take our order. We asked if it was possible to have a salad without leaves, the waitress didn't think so but would check with the chef. She came back to say no it's not possible, when we asked why the reply was he's very stubborn We ordered a bottle of champagne and asked for an ice bucket, not a cooler. The waiter and waitress returned with the bottle in a cooler, the waiter was very nervous and actually said I hate opening champagne After removing the muselet from the cork he clearly realised he'd forgotten to order something from the table next to us. He dumped the unopened bottle on the table and literally ran to the kitchen to advise the chef of his error. Back to us, he then opened the champagne and spilled a considerable amount onto the paper tablecloth which became soggy and see-through. He then went to another restaurant/venue and returned with an ice bucket Whilst this was going on the female was talking across him to ask for our food order. We ordered torched mackerel and the caramelised onion and brie tartlet to start followed by duck with sweet potato mash and chicken supreme with parmentier potatoes She returned to us a few minutes later and said can you tell me what you've order again, I forget The bread basket (which was a shop bought baguette sliced with little pats of butter) was stale The starters were hugely disappointing. The pastry case was hard tasteless and under seasoned. The filling was basically melted brie with a miniscule amount of onion on top. Mains came with exactly the same vergetable garnish, al denté carrots and a broccoli floret neither of which were seasoned. The sweet potato mash was non existent and the parmentier potatoes were in fact a very poor attempt at dauphinoise There were two older waitresses who looked and behaved utterly bored leaving these two, clearly inexperienced and untrained members of staff to do all the work. They were not nice to guests, when when people were leaving and saying goodbye they simply did not respond The table next to us was a party of six, who's dishes and dirty glasses remained on the table from before we arrived and were still there when we left After we told them how disappointed we were they did remove the starters from the bill. Despite this, it really did not make up for the catalogue of errors, poor service and appaling food. Please beware, you will not receive a good meal or service at this place."
