"We were really looking forward to having brunch at the pavillion as we have good memories and have a history of good experiences there. We've all been so busy so we thought why not go to a place we know well to catch up. We...arrived and found a table outside easily as we usually do, so the visit started well. We went to order and the outside window wasn't open as it usually was but we thought nothing of it. Queued for the inside till and could hear everyone before us ordering food, we get to the front and I asked for a vegan sausage sandwhich and hash browns (was very excited as the menu appeared that they have extended the vegan options as I don't remember this being on the menu before). Sadly was immediately told not taking food orders, we've got a big party booked and the kitchen is backed up No option to wait for food. Disappointed and not wanting a wasted journey we ordered coffees to be told immediately there's a wait for coffee of minutes (it was actually way more than this by the time our coffees arrived). Disappointed again but we proceeded with our order and my friends had some of the cake that was left, sadly, there were no vegan options for me (I remember there used to be vegan cake so maybe they ran out that day again, very disappointing for hungry me). We sat at our table and caught up with each other as planned and eventually finished our coffees. We noticed people who did manage to order food were complaining of min waits for bacon sandwhiches. It all just seemed a bit odd because the large party hadn't arrived yet and the indoor and outdoor seating wasn't fun so how could the kitchen be so backed up . Eventually the large party arrived and it was a group of maybe people that's it. Again really surprising that this would cause such havoc on the kitchen and cause such big delays. Bit of advice: If you can't handle prebooking as it will stop your business as usual, don't take prebookings If you're taking prebookings and this may affect you then at least post on your social media go advise rather than letting people turn up and be disappointed, especially because Sundays people expect to be able to order food as usual from you If you can't handle the regular menu when taking prebookings then reduce your menu down to things like jacket potatoes, cook them earlier in the day and keep them warm in a hot pot ready for serving. You can do this easily with sausages and bacon too people aren't expecting fine dining with this menu The prices do seem to be a little more premium then before but again if you reduce your prices slightly people won't expect cooked fresh to order bacon and sausages which means you can cook a lot of this earlier in the day and avoid this backed up kitchen you described If you can't take orders just open with that when someone arrives at the till rather than letting them order and then telling them no You can see the staff were trying their best and were very polite about it. It's just a shame as I think the situation could have been avoided and the amount of people that didn't order food because of this one person prebooking must have amounted to a lot of money lost for the pavilion. Will be going to The Vardo on Castle Road Bedford or Dee Dees Diner in Biggleswade next time."

"lovely location and quirky ambiance. We had what appeared to be their best room, the Barn House suite at £330.00 for the Monday night, which included their full breakfast. Provided tour of room, bar and restaurant when arrived, very helpful : Our suite was lovely and warm on arrival and oozed top end fittings and decor, including tea coffee facilities, a huge lush marble ensuite bath and shower room, but there were no slippers or fluffy dressing gowns included, no sure why not as always a nice touch : As it was our wedding anniversary we opted for evening meal 'with all the trimmings '. No Harveys Bristol cream as a pre dinner drink option, just saying : My wife was dairy and tomato intolerant and they catered quite well for this, offering clear info on menu with 'can haves and cannot haves ', but the puddings were limited to slow gin jelly or sorbets, which was disappointing as we had informed them in advance! My wife was looking forward to perhaps a dairy free chocolate mousse, so easy to make! Service very good, helpful, timely and not hurried. Nice touch from chef with 'Happy Anniversary ' around pudding plate with chocolate sauce!! Evening meal came in at just over £215.00 including drinks and 12.5% service charge. So full cost was approx £545.00 all in. Had a very quiet and comfortable sleep in the 6 foot bed followed by the full breakfast in restaurant, the 5 minute walk was fresh and welcoming, glad there was rain! The breakfast was lovely, but a little limited as my wife 's allergies had not been passed on from the night before and she couldn 't have toast for example as bread contained milk and there was not dairy free spread, such as Vitilite or Flora : Overall, great choice for our anniversary bash, but need more attention to detail. Reasonable value for money for top end experience, but there are others nearby offering similar, For example, Congham Hall, suites available for around £550.00 with dinner, just saying:"

"Nearly passed this up for a chippy.... but can now say that we have bean inn.... The Bean Inn...yeah that's a terrible joke! ANYWAY! It brings me no pleasure to confess that I am in fact a wolf in sheep's clothing in that I do unfortunately eat...meat... Buuut but but! This place was absolutely AMAZING! There wasn't a single thing we didn't love! Even I as the blasted carnivore! In fact, I wouldn't have even known (had you not told me) that the butter, the cream, the ice cream, or the mud cake was vegan! I had trouble booking over the phone initially because signal in my area is naff, but they promptly managed to text me the information so I remained in the know that it was confirmed! The atmosphere was absolutely spot on! We were in a quieter room but even the other room felt warm and cosy and everyone was so friendly. The playlist was banger after banger and yet entirely appropriate for the mellow and relaxed mood, and the art on the walls was also fantastic! The tables were lovely too sounds silly but it was like the restaurant really knew what it was and what colours really worked! Earthy, red napkins and really warm! All we drank was their amazing Morwenna Sunset drink... and the food, OH THE FOOD! This is a restaurant that absolutely knows its craft and knows it so well that you can't be disappointed with anything you order! We had a starter, main and dessert each and only regret being too full for more. The waitresses were also fantastic. So lovely, polite and warm. It was like being at a cosy relative's house and not leaving without a full belly and a big smile! This restaurant deserves its own chain with places popping up on every corner! But then that would cause it to lose its charm, and there is no charm from a food place like it! I can't praise this place enough! Please go even if you're a carnivore! You'll never regret it! Power to the greens!"
