"Although the queues outside have always tested the most calmest of people at the best of times, and their prices for tea/coffee in a paper cup haven 't decreased either. I haven 't been inside the cafe since before Covid hit and I can 't say I will go there again. We arrived last Saturday and there was quite a queue for the window outside, this was because the Morris Dancers were performing. We decided to go inside, we ordered our tea and a teacake each. After 40 minutes I asked where the tea was and was told it was on its way! The young girl behind the counter then started thumbing through all the order receipts to find our order. I reminded her that we had also asked for a toasted teacake each. Another 10 minutes and the tea arrived, except I had been given normal tea and not the green tea that I had ordered. The teacake took a little longer. This cafe now seems to be run by very young teenagers. It was a freezing cold day and the reason we went inside is because I couldn 't see any of the heaters switched on outside. It didn 't make much difference as there was no heating on inside either. When I questioned why there was no heating on it was because the window to the outside kiosk was open and the heat would be lost! Perhaps close the door to the outside kiosk so the heat isn 't lost! The Morris Dancer event had been well published so why the owners didn 't put on extra staff to cope, I 'll never know. We asked about the soup, an impressive large soup menu, all priced at £5.95, I asked about the ingredients in the soup to be told that all the soup came in cans! Really, £5.95 for a bowl of soup from a can! The prices at this cafe are way above average but they are providing an extremely below average service and need to put experienced catering/waiting staff to provide the level of service that people expect or lower the prices so that people don 't expect too much."

Honestly awful : waited over an hour for mac and cheese, a children’s hot dog and a sausage sandwich. The drinks came within minutes so had to buy more when the food arrived. The mac and cheese was sloppy and horrible, the sausages in the sandwich were burnt and the chips were cold and looked like supermarket branded oven chips. Definitely won’t be returning, such a shame as there is so much potential.

Walked passed and thought it would be nice to have a coffee and a sandwich for lunch as the sun was out. We were told there would be a 30-40 min wait for food as they were busy. That was fine, even though the place was 50% empty, we didn’t mind waiting whilst drinking a coffee. The coffee came and was fine but after 50 mins and no food, we went and asked for an update. We were told another 5 minutes. Eventually it turned up 1 hour 10 mins after ordering. We only ordered two bacon sandwiches. The sandwiches weren’t bad, but definitely not worth waiting longer than 15 mins let alone over an hour. I’m guessing they only have one cook who cooks everything individually. A real shame as the locati...

Terrible and very disappointing as the pavilion is in a prime location . The service was abysmal as was the food . We waited over and hour and had to ask several times how much longer to be told it’s on its way which it obviously was not so waited yet again. It was not exceptionally busy which was even more frustrating especially with small hungry children. The food was inedible the bread was dry and stale for the sandwiches. The whole order was taken wrong there was no attention to any preferences given and 1 person didn’t get anything only to be told it didn’t go through insinuating it wasn’t ordered. I can only say what a shame and perhaps the place needs a complete overhaul of management... View menu

Shockingly bad service and seems to be run by clueless teenagers. We paid when they took the order and sat down. 30 minutes after ordering, no sign of our food or drinks and a clueless teenager comes over to tell me there is no more lasagne, and could I order something else. So I ordered jacket spud instead. Our drinks finally arrived 35 minutes after ordering. Clueless teenager number 3 proceeds to place hot drinks within grasping range of a 7month old. We quickly moved them. 5 10 minutes after the drinks had arrived everyone else’s food turns up. Jacket potato and tepid beans. But no cutlery. We ask the 3 gormless teenage staff milling around by the tills about cutlery but apparently it’s...

Since the coffee shop has moved under a new management the quality of food and drinks is beyond horrible. On few occasions I have been served coffee (latte/flatwhite) which was either so hot that I have burnt my mouth or have been given cold drink.Never really sure what you will get but I thought let’s give the new guys chance as every person there is new and needs training. Although it has been like this for months now! Today was a last straw for me. We ordered hot chocolate, hot milk and mocha. Hot chocolate was ok, but nothing exciting, milk was cold, even though I’ve said to make it hot as my child is ok now to drink warm drinks. For myself I’ve ordered a mocha. Instead of mocha I have b...

"this use to an old favorite restaurant of us many years ago before it changed the hands. we saw the alex polizzi TV program, but since then did not have the opportunity to visit. we have booked online. when we arrived, I tried to explain that we had reserved online, but the waitress did not seem disturbed, nor did she check. she wanted to tell us that the pizza oven didn't work so there were no pizzas or garlic bread etc. it was good to say before we came to our table and we appreciate it. the food was excellent and the chef came out a few times to check that everyone enjoys his meals, which was a very nice note. the waitresses were very pleasant, but seemed to have confidence in what they did. there were some confusion about our weeping mission, which was our fault. we were not offered when we arrived, and it was only after they came for our food order that we could ask for drinks. there was a pretty wait for our appetizers (tomatenbruschetta and mushroom bruschetta) and then the main dishes (tomatenwurst al forno and lasagne), but if that is what it takes to prepare the excellent food we enjoyed, then it is worth it. we also think that we are too familiar with restaurants that almost food of not particularly good quality. overall a very good experience and we will return. Perhaps the waitress could do with a little, but more workout to improve her confidence."
