"The food was generally good, but it's worth noting that the veggie curries—available with either wiper or mixed vegetables—are made with frozen vegetables. We even saw them bringing in bags from the island while we were eating! The curry featured some unusual vegetables, such as broccoli and peeled baby corn, which made the dish bland and watery. "One of good place where you can get the Indian street food!! The place is small and good, nice food good and hygiene. The prices are cheap compared to other restaurants. "We booked in the Kashmir for a pre match curry . Staff were attentive , the ambience was very good . Drinks and poppadums were provided almost immediately . The meals were good and authentic . My only negative was the main courses were a little slow in arriving . The restaurant was busy but not overly . We had hoped to be clear by 7 after arriving at 5.30 . Got away nearer 7.30 . Overall , a pleasing experience and decent value quality food . Well worth another visit ."

"I took my wife (to be) here 35 years ago and we have been dozens of times since. Tonight was as if it was a different restaurant. We had to ask for menus after waiting for 15 minutes. The wine arrived half way through the starters (which were good). The main courses were mediocre, the rice and naan especially so. After staring at our plates for 20 minutes we had to ask for the bill which came with an added service charge. Kalpna had been one of the leaders in veggie food in Edinburgh, now they have a lot of catching up to do. I assume the restaurant has changed hands, or maybe they (like everyone) just had an off day. "Our experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing, primarily due to the long wait time for our food — nearly an hour. While there were patrons who arrived after us, they were served before we were, which was confusing. The food itself did not impress; the chips lacked any sauces, and I couldn't even taste the lemon in the lemon rice. I found the prices to be excessive for the quality offered. The Hariali chicken, which was advertised as a specialty, turned out to be overly sweet and lacked the expected sharpness. On a positive note, the décor is lovely, and the staff were friendly and accommodating, especially considering we had a small child with us. However, given the lengthy wait and underwhelming food, I wouldn't consider returning."

"The dining experience was excellent, and the portion sizes were generous based on the recommendations. The service was fantastic, and we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. The only concern was the inconsistent heating, but given that it was December, we were able to overlook it. Perhaps some curtains or additional covers for winter would help? "The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere but it is one of the worst currys I have ever had. The lamb curry was on tiny bits of bone that were floating n the dish. Each piece that I pulled out was covered in fat! Finding the meat between bone and the fat yuk!.. I mentioned to the waiter that is wasn 't very nice and they should say on the menu that the lamb is on the bone. They just said 'yes I keep telling them that ' but no suggestions of refund or replacement. Considering how very expensive is, very unsatisfactory!!! "You can tell how good an Asian restaurant is by whether the local Asian community frequent it. Chai Station is a go too restaurant. Only serving Veg and Vegan food it's a rare find. No alcohol but you can take your own. All the food is prepared to order and we'll worth the short wait, 5 mins for us. The owner and waitress were both helpful when it came to choices, of which there are many, even carnivores will find many dishes they'll love. Eating out for less than £20 a head is rare these days, add food of this quality as well, you'll probably see a Dodo first. Many thanks, Nick."

"We had a fantastic evening with our friends on 9/12/2023. We were given a table in the main function room. We had the whole function room to ourselves! Service was excellent. The ladies were attentive and served our drinks and food. Food portions were generous but more importantly tasted really delicious! Butter chicken, Lamb karahi and paneer karahi were really tasty and would recommend. Sunny the owner gave us the dance floor and we were able to play some Bollywood music to dance to. What a night!!! Sunny, thank you for the lovely birthday drinks and sparkly candle (on the house). We would recommend for anyone to visit for good food and great service with the added touches and charm of Sunny!!! We will be coming back soon."

"Our first time in the restaurant, it was recommended and to be honest it wasn’t what we expected, felt like a sardine very cramped to say the least, staff were ok, ordered lamb tikka masala the wife had chicken tikka with a salad, 4 poppadoms the sauce’s came the onions were just white onions no sign of tomato purée, the meal came the lamb was very chewy and after ten minutes the wife had to ask for her salad because they had forgotten it, I’m afraid it’s first and last time for us.by the way I told the owner of my concerns over the meal ,also when I booked the table I was told cash only no card ."

"Very bad service by a lady wearing glasses, RUDE plus food was very very very bad. Asked her to replace the item which was bitter in taste couldn’t even consume the chicken as it was dry after coming out of kitchen to which the staff replied you ordered it now we cannot change it so you have to have this. Acting like a mama to force to eat. The naan bread was served in a kitchen cleaning towel sheet. Had ordered Dal which was just boiled and BLAND no spice nor no flavour. I wonder why this place is there ? Zero customer service Pathetic Food And smelly restaurant. Very Pricey ! Made the worst choice, should have gone to Sarasas or Kho Kho to which I went later again as they were packed being a Tuesday or Wednesday. Don’t go there waste of time and money."

"If I could leave a zero review I would. The reason for this is the delivery driver tried to break into my house. Almost unbelievable but it happened. Upon calling the restaurant to tell them, the manager was too busy to take my call apparently. When I messaged them asking for a call back, the person I spoke to made excuses for the driver, did not rebute his actions but just said sorry and she will tell him to be more careful next time. There will absolutely NOT be a next time! How dare he try to break into my house! I didn't even get offered a refund which is laughable. Since then I have been worried for my safety in my own home and considering police action."

"I've always been out here regularly. I love eating, but I have noticed that they take in busy times kissing customers once I ordered a disk harness that ran out in the night in the refrigerator. the court was obviously made days before and given me to earn her money yesterday, I got another take away, I ordered four naan with my curry. the two tops looked fresh, what my sister took after home. the lower two I had for me were cut into half and hard when I ate obviously they left me from day or day before eating is order. I do not recommend taking anyone, I strongly think of reporting this place to food standards."
