"This restaurant is our go to place for a carvery despite there being many others in the vaccinity. It’s a very nice atmosphere to be in and the staff are second to none in their care to ensure you have a great experience of a Toby carvery. There is always a great selection of vegetables to choose from and some dishes that I’ve not seen in other restaurants and the place is spotless. I’d certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food, welcoming staff and a great night out."

"I treated a friend to a toby in the clot that I often and my meal was in order, but the kartoffels needed a saw to cut them, but besides that my meal was good, I had truthahn and bark, but my friends meal didn't go down to all good they couldn't eat a piece meat was all gristle and I took it home for the dog. the waitress lynn was wonderful and she offered her another meal, but she refused"

We were waiting 40 mins for our drinks , we asked twice) they were sat at the bar so we collected them ourselves . "We hadn't been to the Toby Eastbourne for a few years and were exited to go back today. Unfortunately our excitement was soon quashed as having ordered we looked around the empty tables (15.30) and could see a lot of dirty plates that hadnt been cleared also dirty beer glasses on another table. On the bar where we were met were further dirty plates stacked up in full view of incoming customers. during our 70 minutes in the restaurant none were cleared, and our plates were dumped on the bar with others. A 30 minute wait for pudding no check by staff as to whether our meal was OK, and the staff disappearing out back all the time made for an experience which we will not repeat."

"This Toby Carvery is wonerful! I could not fault it. Staff were friendly, and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was very good, and you get plenty of meat. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. As two of us are handicaped, we were worried about the entrance. Lots of stairs. Down the side is a ramp, and a member of staff opened a side door, and let us in. Didnt even have to ask! I am well impressed."

"Absolutely dreadful experience. The serving spoon was burning hot under veg lights as veg was at the rear. Got terrible burn. It has given me a large blister. But worse is the attitude of the staff! When I was in distress asking for ice no one cared! It took 5 minutes of skin burning before somrone brought me a bucket of cold water. By now the damage had been done. Where was my apology? Where was the manager? Where was the legally required Accident book? Where was the First Aider? No one took my details. All I got was looks from ignorant staff . Only after half an hour did one girl approach with a burn plaster gel. If this had been more serious I dread to think of the consequences! This is absolutely despicable from a Toby!"

"It was disgusting i felt sick the minute i sat down the table's were dirty the salt and pepper pot's had gravy on them from previous customers...i ordered some drinks they came half a hour later i ordered my food a starter and then my main course omg she brought them both out together so i got cheesy mushrooms and a pie plopped on a plate on its own. hahaha i nearly collapsed with laughter i said what's this and she said your food i asked were is the rest of it she said down there at the carvery bit .... a i thought wow and then to round off my nightmare she says and there's no certain desserts available all i can say is WARNING WARNING go at your own Pearl alternatively take a picnic and run for hills lol......."

"My wife and I arrived for our 5 pm booking and signed in we were shown to our table and ordered drinks. while waiting for them to arrive we noticed the length of the line for the servery. Our drinks came and we joined the line. It took 40 minutes in the line before we reached the serving hatch. There were no Yorkshire puddings available or vegetarian gravy at this time. some of the available vegetables were not labelled and I had to ask what they were. From entering the restaurant food que to returning to our seats was 40 minutes. this is just no good practice. When I queried this I was told that this was at this time of the year normal. As I have difficulty standing for long periods. I shall not be returning. I have on 3 previous occasions been in and out inside an hour, yesterday took over 2 and a half hours in total Just not the welcoming hospitality that I have previously encountered . "After we drove a long way to home, we arrived in Aberdeen, we hadn't eaten since the breakfast, and we were hungry, so we wanted to eat properly, not almost food, and young we got a full teller! We were warmly welcomed from the beginning what exactly what they need when they are tired of a long trip. we were served immediately and we went to the carousel. the server was fab, so jolly and friendly, and eating was delicious, so much choice, at the end my teller was stacked. everything was perfectly boiled, but unfortunately I couldn't finish all my plate, so fortunately they provided me a box, and my dogs had a nice tasty when I came home. the Crocket Hut was the perfect choice for us and we will definitely return. Thank you."

Disappointed that despite booking a time of 17:30 and receiving a reminder from the restaurant on the day that our booking was for 17:30 we were told on arrival that we were booked in for 17:45 and had to wait 25 minutes before we could take our table. Also disappointed with the drink prices. A glass of lemonade, 2 Appletizers and a medium glass of wine for a cost of £15.80 is far too expensive, and led me to think that we had deliberately been delayed in taking our table so that we would order drinks in the bar!"

"Three in our party. We were shown to our table and told our waiter would be with us shortly. However, we had to ask to order drinks after 10 minutes waiting. Whilst waiting a member of staff obviously arrived a bit late for his shift and when questioned by a colleague he explained that he’d had to run part of the way to be told “well you should have run all the way!” Not very professional. We then had to wait in line for 20 minutes then, when we got our food, the roast potatoes were like mush and the cabbage dried out. To cap it all the food was warm. When we told the waitress she offered to warm it up. Overall a very disappointing visit which we will not be repeating."

"I had made a reservation for a table for 4 at 6:15 pm. However, I received a phone call around 5 pm informing me that they had run out of beef. Despite this setback, we arrived at 6:15 pm and were seated at our table. We went to the carvery and found that the stuffing was burnt and stuck to the dish. We had to wait 10 minutes for a new batch, and when we went to the gravy table, there was no gravy available. After a delay, we finally ate our main courses. When the waitress came to take our order for desserts, we requested sponge pudding, only to be told that there was no sponge pudding available. Overall, it was not a very satisfactory visit. We were planning to book a festive family meal at this restaurant, but unless we can be assured that everything on the menu is available, we will have to visit again soon before making a decision."

"After arrival on on time, we were shown to a table. We then joined a que of about 20 other people all waiting to get Thier food. After about 15 minutes a person attend d and proceeded to carve out he meats. When I inventually got to the vegetables there were no mashed potatoes, sprouts, runner beans. Eventually these came. Then all the sauces were empty. Again had to ask for these to be filled. By the time I got to our table my food was cold. All for £43.00 for 3 people, With the floor in front of the food counter was covered with food as it had not been cleaned. The general condition of the premises was untidy and dirty. We will not be returning."

"On this occasion the food was dried out and Luke warm I visit this restaurant regularly and it seems Sunday carvery is the problem midweek is better, being disabled I asked for seating near food at the time of booking but was seated so far away felt let down, the only saving grace on this visit was the waitress being so helpful and assisting me, I don’t think I’d visit on Sunday ever again or recommend."
