"While staying in Shoreditch for several days, I ended up coming here 3 different times. My wife and I loved this place the people are extremely friendly and the service is good, and the food and coffee excellent! Initially I walked by and noticed their hug collection of cannoli and other pastries and I waved at them and said I'd return. We came back the next day for lunch (and they remembered us found it funny! . I tried their coffee (Americano, which was good! and we had a couple of wraps a Mediterranean one and a Piri Piri Chicken one both were excellent with fresh veggies on it and grilled nicely. We took cannolis to go (we just had them choose their favorites ... all of them were awesome. I stopped in the next day to grab some pastries and a cappuccino to take back to the hotel excellent! We came back the next day for breakfast. My wife had eggs on toast with a mound of fresh beautiful avocado. I had the full breakfast with sausages, bacon, beans, toast, eggs, tomato, and so on... and more coffee. Again, everything was great! This cafe has awesome baked goods and coffee offerings as well as nice sandwiches (check out their breakfast sandwiches! , but best of all is how kind and nice they are. Well wroth coming here again and again."

"Love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Very cozy, fairly small place and very nice and helpful waiting staff. Food is actually very good we very much enjoyed the ravioli main recommended by our waiter but would strongly advise avoiding the house red Nero d’avola. Thankfully the waitress who dealt with the wine was very understanding and managed to arrange an immediate exchange once we’d mustered up the courage to complain about what to us seemed like drinking red wine vinegar. We were assured the wine was as it’s supposed to be, which must make it just a terrible example of a Nero. A house wine of course will never be an award winner but it should be at least drinkable and was all that stopped us from rating our experience 5 stars. Will be back nevertheless!!"

"A absolute gem of a restaurant, had a beautiful evening in the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and our daughters confirmation. Chef is amazing the food perfect and the desserts are a beautiful indulgence and treat to end a evening with. The waitresses couldn’t do anymore to help and ensure you have a great evening. I look forward to my next visit and wish the staff and restaurant every success post Covid times."

"I ate dinner with a friend at Pappa Roma on a Saturday evening. We ordered a quattro stagioni pizza and a seafood pasta. Both were tasty, and the portions were generous. The prices were very affordable too. The staff member who seated us at first was somewhat detached, but during the meal the staff were helpful and responded to our requests quickly. However, we found the atmosphere very poor. We were seated in a downstairs area that had a huge screen showing a football match. It was noisy and distracting, although to their credit the staff turned the sound to a lower setting when I asked. Later on, the staff put on some radio music which was loud and offputting (especially during the commercials); again, they did turn it to a quieter setting when I asked, but it was still distracting."

"Very nice place and very friendly staff. The food was good and tasty: tried the sea bream and was delicious, the burrata on the sharing board starter was very similar to the original Italian one and on the same quality was the sharing dessert! A few things I did not particularly like: the table, it feels more like a bar than an actual restaurant in fact you could get an high table with stools instead of chairs; most of the finest wine bottles were not available when we visited (15/4/23 ; and, generally the food was slightly overpriced compared to what you can find in other places in Edinburgh (e.g Cote, Bread Street, etc. . Overall I did really enjoy the evening and I'll definitely come back to try the pasta and the cannoli that unfortunately were also not available. Recommended!"

"I made a reservation through OpenTable, arrived 15 minutes early, and unfortunately, we were turned away by the manager who seemed confused and claimed, "but we are closed on OpenTable." Despite showing him the email and texts confirming our booking, he did not acknowledge it. We had traveled 50 minutes from North London to dine at this restaurant and were greatly disappointed by this experience."

"We got the Family deal tonight .. and it was unreal .. My husband walked over and collected it and had a sneaky pint while he waited . He said the service was great , so friendly and welcoming . We got 2xpizzas a garlic bread pizza garlics (really tasty .. a beautiful salad and chicken goujons 2xchips and a big bottle of Fanta, like that wasn’t enough there was also 2 x tiramisu’s included which tasted amazing and 100% authentic Italian.. My husband said the staff was great from the lady who greeted him at door to the guy that served him his pint was just fantastic.. We will be sitting in next time well done spaghetti junction"

"Went for the Italian taster night and it was awesome! Really good quality food and came away completely stuffed after 8 courses for just £20 per head. Even took some home for lunch the next day as well! Feel bad that it’s taken us so long to visit for dinner when it’s right on our doorstep, we occasionally pop in for take away coffee/pastry/cake but will definitely be coming back in for more sit down meals... breakfast is next on the list! "Unfortunately, we were placed at a table next to the bar, which seemed a Spillover table, without decorations like at other tables next to us (I heard that the lead waiter moved our booking to a larger table that had come). We also had the smell of the rods, which was unpleasant and were pulled behind us during the meal. Our main theme was a clear discrepancy in the quality ordered by two of our dishes; especially 2 Carbonara dishes, one of which was a full taste, sauce and spices, the other we thought was actually another dish. Barely cooked spaghetti, small sauce or taste. We asked if there was a mistake and the chief waiter/manager assured us it was the same dish from another pot. We continued with the plate and returned it, as it was so different and tasteless compared to the other part. We received a replacement carbonara that was much improved, but felt disappointed about the customer service experience and overall experience in the restaurant. Unlike would we go back"

"Second time we’ve visited the place, the food remained being quite good, they clearly know what they are doing. The service on the other hand was a bit of a let down, staff was kind but the timing wasn’t quite there, I had to pour the wine most of the times myself, call out for their attention to get a napkin that was clearly missing. Quite different from last time there where service was amazing."

"This was our first visit to Brixton and admittedly, we were lucky to get a table at all in this cafe, and what a pleasant surprise. They are of the ‘we will find you a seat, leave it with us’ school of thought and on a busy Saturday, they squeezed us into a tiny space but quickly moved us onto a roomier table when one became available. They blinked twice when I said I didn’t want the bagel under my Eggs Benedict was I sure? but then, with a Southern European shrug, their body language suggested the crazy woman could have what the crazy woman wanted. And delicious it was. My husband and son were very happy with their meals too, so from our seats looking onto a neighbouring shop lush with healthy plants, we felt we were in the Med delightful. It took quite a long time to get our coffees, but it was about 3pm by then and I think their energies were on the decline. We will be back."

"the overall experience was good today. the restaurant was clean and tidy. it has a free parking outside for customers. it is a little dark in the inner but on some tables and we had to ask to move to another table because it is too dark what hurts our eyes. with regard to the service, the employees were polite, but as can be seen from previous evaluators, they seem to be from Albanian origin, which we found that when asked to the host it was a simple yes or no answer. there was no engagement to establish a rapport as such and the team sometimes came as rude. they also forgot our water and drink order, which we had to remember. the menu had a lot of choice and a reasonable price given the table for these and drinks. I had to ask the manager to honor the discount of the gourmet company I said on the phone they accepted but not when I visited. but they have sorted it. they also accept here tastecard. the best part of the visit was in fact the food quality. large portion sizes and very well cooked, without problems today. the chicken was rich in taste and very delicate. the kalamari was slightly scattered and tasted and smelled after arriving. the chips were as they would expect; well salted and the right color. we asked for sauces and found that the mayonnaise was no longer from the date, but that was corrected by the host. Overall, I would think again to visit and give him a 7/10. nice eating can be done by the service of the team."
