"the winter gardens at the landmark hotel was beautiful! However the value of money is absolutely ridiculous! We went for breakfast and two extreamlly small main meals that came up to £106!! We didn’t even want to order the main meals, be we felt as though the lady who served us was very pushy when she came to take our order. She said ‘what else would you like’ and ‘they are very small’ hinting that we need to order more dishes. We said several times we only came for breakfast. We have very small appetites and when she came to give our food she said ‘I told you this wouldn’t be enough’ however we said back ‘were already full with the breakfast’. We found it overall so SO rude for her to make us feel in that position!! We spent hell of a lot for so little food!!! She was just externally really rude. I think she was Malaysian or Chinese not sure? But she was so disrespectful! All the other staff were amazing but her she made us feel worthless."

"The food at this restaurant is amazing, and the hospitality is welcoming! Some people may be put off by the average setup compared to contemporary standards, but don't let that deter you if you enjoy delicious food. Despite arriving late on a working day with my family, we received excellent service from the staff, including the owner's young son who helped us with our order and questions about allergens. The atmosphere left us with nothing but positive feelings towards the establishment. We were the last ones to leave but will definitely be returning soon with friends and family. I would give it 4.5 stars, but considering the value for money and atmosphere, it's a total winner!"

"no complain about food, although the falafel and halloumi cheese hot packs, the package was on the pappe and hard to get! but very tasty. coffee ordinary standard- very good tables were not cleaned unless the floor was dirty, peeled...with eating with the table base look dirty. obviously is not a deep cleaning in a long time. the dust and brush left in the middle of the ess zone. there was a team leader, but she has no attention to the condition of the esszone. very disappointed by the cleanliness"

"Having been hit for a craving for an ice cream sundae whilst between trains at Preston, my tour of Fishergate drew a blank and as a last resort I called in at this bright and cheerful (slightly garish?... Emporium to see what was on offer. The place was busy with kids mid afternoon but I was served quickly and politely. I plumped for a 3-scoop natural yougurt with Nutella and chocolate sprinkles. OMG! best thing I've ever tasted. creamy, full of flavour, refreshing, a generous helping. My cravings were satisfied!. Intend to visit another time when I might try some of the many other flavours or toppings, or maybe an ice cream or crepe or a waffle: all looked good. Tables and the general area could have been a little cleaner , but it was pretty busy in fairness, It's not particulalry cheap, but good value, I'd say."

"Delicious, scrumptious, mouth watering hot spicy fresh food served here however a few things to consider, firstly if you can avoid driving to this place then do it as there is no parking and it 's a bit difficult place to get to. Secondly it 's extremely tucked away difficult to spot find as it 's actually below ground level. Other than that the food is not cheap and be aware that they charge some Chef charge in top without letting you know. Another important thing to consider is that they do not have air conditioning or heating for that matter as I have been there before in winter time and it was very cold downstairs and since they are below the ground in summer they become very hot, there was only 1 fan in there and the heat was getting unbearable. Other than that the food is actually very good appreciate the Dum Biryani which is nothing like I have had before, actually comes in a pot covered with puff pastry! See pictures, overall it 's definitely worth visiting at least once."

"Stopped in for brunch on a Thursday early noon after a quick scout on TripAdvisor for places to eat on Morningside Road. A bustling cafe with stripped back wooden tables contrasting against rather elaborate metal light fittings and a mismatch of metal or simple cotton fabric covered chairs, we were luckily shown to the last available table in the back room. The cafe appears small from the outside but is actually deceptively big. Music was easygoing chill out which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Smiling waitresses helped also. We ordered coffees and eggs royale and our waitress promptly brought a jug of water over. Coffees came soon after and we were pleased that they were good...read more"

"The food and portions were great hence why I picked it in the first place so I cant fault that..HOWEVER the service was extremely slow and lacked any urgency or awareness of the customers need They took down our food order and yet to ask what drink we wanted. I believe the hostess was bringing us the drink menu or even offer some water but that never came until I had to get someone elses attention. Finally managed to get some water but yet received the main drinks At the end of the 3 course meal I asked for the bill and again took a while. Overall food great but poor service"

"I only had one day in a lot, so I needed a brunch to count it. I got the lead of my Mancunian-turned-Melbourne friend katie for a rat. she said I would love the northern quarter and say goodbye to check federal cafe bar. it is a very antipodean place. the sign spells exactly New Zealand and Australian caffe and it lives up to that in its totality."

"I have visited this restaurant twice and got food poisoning both times. The service is terrible, it seems like they don't care at all. The cutlery and glasses were dirty. I would not recommend going here."

"Group of 4 friends visited for a pre birthday treat. The food was overall nice enough though pricey! We did return one dish due to it being too salty and the waiter rectified this and charged us still. The portion sizes are small and the rice was absolutely miniature hardly enough for one person and priced at £3. I do wish I’d taken a picture to show you all. The drinks prices are also high. The ambience was nice. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or attentive and could be seen rushing around like headless chickens mostly. Do not a service charge is added to the bill. The parking was free if visiting the restaurant. Overall nice but there are better places to eat so won’t be returning."

"I 'm sure we have all seen that stereotypical hipster dude who is seen at a coffee shop with his latest MacBook Pro while wearing clothes purchased from a thrift store, or who uses his latest iPhone to take and instagram (yes, that 's a verb now photos of himself with the homeless because his friends would think it was cool. Well, if that guy were a restaurant, he would look like Mughli. Why am I not surprised, then, that Mughli boasts of a clientele that includes the likes of Jared Leto? Let me explain myself. Mughli brands itself as something akin to a street food vendor at a railway station in South Asia. Well, if you ever happen to actually see a railway station in South Asia and the street food around it, you will find nothing in common between it and the ritzy Mughli, just like the guy flashing his electronics with the white Apple logo has nothing in common with the homeless. The pretension works for me, however. I quite enjoy experiencing comfort and luxury behind the façade of affectatious (yes, that also is an adjective now slumming. Mughli is one of the higher end South Asian restaurants on Manchester 's renowned Curry Mile (a misnomer for so many reasons, including the fact that it 's not a mile long, and that there are just as many if not more Middle Eastern restaurants and shisha lounges in this neighborhood as there are curry houses... parentheses are such a great tool for literary digressions, aren 't they? . The menu items and their descriptions are pretty standard, and generally do not appear to be too different from the offerings at other Indian Pakistani restaurants in the area. The execution of these dishes is where Mughli shines (now, do you see why my rating is 4 stars despite my snarky observations about the pretentiousness of this restaurant? . The masala chicken biryani, which is a must try according to the restaurant menu, is indeed an outstanding dish. This spicy chicken and rice dish is strewn with pomegranate jewels and fresh cloves of garlic, which enrich its flavor profile, and is finished in a pot sealed with putty dough to prevent the air and moisture from escaping. The biryani is served with gravy and yogurt raita. While the gravy is a totally redundant condiment, the raita does serve as an enhancement to the already flavorful biryani. This dish is so dissimilar to every version of biryani I 've ever had (and I grew up in South Asia that I almost don 't want to call it biryani. Whatever it needs to be christened, it is absolutely delicious! I don 't find any of the desserts here particularly exciting, but a cup of the desi chai (traditional tea is a great way to finish off a meal at Mughli."

"The perfect stopover! I commute across the M4 frequently, and was forever fed up with the noisy services at Membury and Chieveley. Just 5-8 minutes from Junction 13, I can guarantee it's an infinitely, nicer, quieter and more tasty stopover! The staff are absolutely delightful, (as well as being situated in the beautiful village of Yattendon, if you fancy a walk around), deliciously well made coffee, cakes, sandwiches and cooked breakfasts, and plenty of easy parking. It's also dog friendly, vegan and gluten free friendly, and provides all alternative milks. Highly recommend!!!"

"A much hyped up restaurant with fantastic social media coverage. Unfortunately the visits didn 't live up to the hype. On the first occasion the waiter decided to move us after seating us and decided it was our fault because we sat where he asked. This was recovered by a superb waitress that took over. She was helpful with the menu and suggestions of what to try. The meal was average and the atmosphere was also the same. My children loved this place as 'it 's the place to be ' and so we went back. The second visit had a much more pleasant seating experience, the food again was average but the mocktails were nice. They got the order wrong but we went with the main they brought as this was...read more"

"Many vegan foods and drinks options, I had a beautiful plant-based burger in vegan Brioche bungalow with really nice vegan cheese, chips and salad, vegan cake, latte with oat milk, all delicious. I wish I had taken pictures, everything looked so good. Friendly, efficient service but did not feel brushed, cleaned table, chilled atmosphere, good music. Wouldn't hesitate to go back."

"The decor here really stands out. Many Indian restaurants play it safe to fit with white tablecloths and a sanitary aesthetic. Chai Street decides to look you in India with wooden tables, light bulbs, Bollywood posters everywhere your eyes look, and to fit the music! The food was quite brilliant, we have the Special Thali and the Indian Lemonade. Can't say enough good about the lemonade, big zanginess and sweetness. The Thali is a dish that comes with four different curries, rice, naan and a potato samosa. A great idea if you can't decide to commit to which curry."

"While staying in Shoreditch for several days, I ended up coming here 3 different times. My wife and I loved this place the people are extremely friendly and the service is good, and the food and coffee excellent! Initially I walked by and noticed their hug collection of cannoli and other pastries and I waved at them and said I'd return. We came back the next day for lunch (and they remembered us found it funny! . I tried their coffee (Americano, which was good! and we had a couple of wraps a Mediterranean one and a Piri Piri Chicken one both were excellent with fresh veggies on it and grilled nicely. We took cannolis to go (we just had them choose their favorites ... all of them were awesome. I stopped in the next day to grab some pastries and a cappuccino to take back to the hotel excellent! We came back the next day for breakfast. My wife had eggs on toast with a mound of fresh beautiful avocado. I had the full breakfast with sausages, bacon, beans, toast, eggs, tomato, and so on... and more coffee. Again, everything was great! This cafe has awesome baked goods and coffee offerings as well as nice sandwiches (check out their breakfast sandwiches! , but best of all is how kind and nice they are. Well wroth coming here again and again."

"Great food. Music a bit too much for a nice quiet dinner⦠the target is probably mid to mid but prices fairly high for that target! Excellent delicious food, highly recommend if youâre looking for something unconventional. To the management : tables are still relatively close to each other for the staff to spray the tables with cleaning products from distance while neighbouring tables full of food and people eating near by. Also your reception staff a bit untrained. We had a reservation vis opentable but were told rudely is not in the system. I showed the reservation on my phone only to be told â oh you just made it ago!â I said no, i made it days ago. Arguing and being rude is not a good start."

"I'm a little bit in love with this place. The coffee is amazing, a beautifully smooth roast served piping hot every time. The food is fresh, local and delicious. Great variety of beverages and food from artisan hot chocolates to this beautiful ploughman's platter. I'm having great fun making my way through their menu. Next homemade cheesecake!"

"This restaurant has seating for about 15 people. There is only one staff member working, so service is slow. There is no air conditioning. The prices here are 25% cheaper than Kaspas, but the quality at Kaspas was better. This place serves ice rolls, but they are not as good as the ones at Kaspas."
