"We got to the restaurant and the young lady first advised us we were at the wrong place, she told us that we had come to Southall Road and not South Road, She was incorrect anyway after sorting that out she said we had no booking even though I had an email confirmation. She then told us it was ok as they had spare tables. We have historically come here a lot and the staff are normally great. but have to say the staff did not have a clue and made the experience a little poor. Drinks took to long to come and when they did they came one at a time. I would come back but I'm hoping the current staff are not. Also you cannot place a charitable contribution to peoples bill without asking. Its not the quantum but the principle"

"We had booked a table a few days previously but when we arrived at the due time with our guests it was not set out. The problem was quickly resolved and did not detract from an excellent evening’s dining. The choice of food and styles here is excellent and the staff were knowledgeable in helping us with our choices. When it arrived the food was generous and well presented and hot (in temperature) and the different dishes were excellently spiced and well balanced – just what we expected. From the starters the Scallops Hariyali and the Chilli Prawns were marvellous. From the mains the Chicken Xacuti and Tandoori Sampler were of particular note, but our other starters and mains were all delicious. Prices are what you would expect for a restaurant of such location, you can check the menu on the website. Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, pleasant ambience, thoroughly recommended."

"I came here for a bite to eat on a Friday afternoon. Been here many times for after work drinks but decided to give their kitchen a go. Was not disappointed waitress was attentive and the food was spot on. I came for lunch with a colleague and there was plenty of choice and it all came out promptly. Out of the 6 dishes we chose, there was only one that to me lacked flavour, the rest were delicious. Overall very happy and will be back another day for sure."

"I had some of the dishes on this vegan menu and they were all really good, appetizer and net. I recommend the aubergine. the employees in this restaurant are always so friendly and chatting for me! the owner told us he was inspired to create a vegan menu from his sister who is vegan. this place costs definitiw much more than they expect, especially given the amount of cheap Indian food they can get in london."

"The food quality at this restaurant is consistently excellent! The quick and friendly service only adds to the experience. While we didn't bring our own alcohol this time, it's still great value for the delicious, fresh, and high-quality food we received. We often bring first-time visitors here and they always want to return!"

"My opinion of chilli pickle has diminished almost as much as their portion sizes. Service was fine but the fOoD, what happened? We paid £60 for two mains, two sides and a starter. The sides were bigger than the mains, and we just bought rice and a supermarket bought naan bread. Nepali Hot wings Achari paneer sizzler Sigri Kesar Jingri Coriander and garlic naan Pilau rice The starter was decent (Nepali Hot wings) but the mains were ridiculous. Maybe this place is run by a team of rabbits, I'm not sure why else I got charged almost £20 for 6 prawns and raw spring onion (Sigri Kesar Jinga). it appeared as if someone had literally walked outside grabbed them, and stuck it on a plate. The Achari paneer sizzler featured 4 slices of paneer over a handful of red onion and was £14. Great place if you're on a diet and have too much money because this was about 200 calories. Would've been quicker for me to throw £60 in the bin than waste it here."

"I’m a little reluctant to leave feedback due to the extremely negative responses received by other visitors, but I must be honest..Visited here as working locally and wanted a nice jacket potato. I phoned and pre ordered as I was aware they need time to prepare.Ordered a jacket potato with chilli and cheese. Ordinarily take away jackets are £4 at most.. I was very surprised at the £6.50 bill for a take away jacket. Every cafe I have ever visited that offers take away, you pay less due to not using the facilities of the cafe, so I was surprised this cafe didn’t. Broken down it was £2.50 for the potato, £3 extra for chilli and £1 for the cheese. The chilli was in a desperate container as there was so much. All that is needed is a spoonful. No salad was offered or on the side, which again I found unusual. The potato was small, poorly presented and not overly appealing (see photo) or tasty.Sorry to say I wouldn’t return- very disappointed with price, taste and quality."

"I visited this restaurant shortly after it opened and I must say the chai tea is fantastic. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Camden, or even if you're not, it's a great place for a nice afternoon tea! I haven't tried the food yet, but I will definitely be returning. The service is friendly and staff are helpful with suggestions and explanations."

"I arrived jet-lagged and hungry and wandered out of the hotel to find dinner to kickstart my visit. Koolba was just the meal I needed. I had their special, lamb shank rogan josh with saffron rice--the lamb was so melt in your mouth tender and great balance of flavor with the spices in the Rogan Josh, lots of flavor from traditional spices but not hot, and served with saffron rice. Lamb Rogan Josh is one of my favorite Indian curries back home, and the same, only so much better with the lamb shank! Wow! The mango lassi was cool, mellow and not too sweet. The portions were also generous! I will admit, I ate leftovers for lunch the next day and it was so delicious! I'm certain people in the hotel were jealous! I'm certain to go back. They were so friendly and helpful. I had takeout, and will go back to eat in the dining room. I look airy and comfortable and on a great walking road with tables out front for summer!"

"Stopped in for brunch on a Thursday early noon after a quick scout on TripAdvisor for places to eat on Morningside Road. A bustling cafe with stripped back wooden tables contrasting against rather elaborate metal light fittings and a mismatch of metal or simple cotton fabric covered chairs, we were luckily shown to the last available table in the back room. The cafe appears small from the outside but is actually deceptively big. Music was easygoing chill out which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Smiling waitresses helped also. We ordered coffees and eggs royale and our waitress promptly brought a jug of water over. Coffees came soon after and we were pleased that they were good...read more"

"What a DISAPPOINTMENT! Been here a few times and the foods always be good! Must of been 10 plus times.. but the last time I went I was horrified The food wasn’t up to usual standards and the curry I ordered had little chicken and very very watery, I expressed my concerns to the waitress who was extremely rude and argued back with me and refused to take the curry from the bill. Worst Customer service I’ve ever received. She tried to say I had complained before which was absolute nonsense. I was happy to pay for my meal as I always do, but I wasn’t happy to pay for a curry I didn’t eat. She tried to tell me I had eaten the chicken, which I hadn’t. Very aggressive, rude and unpleasant. I’ve worked in customer service for years and I’ve never had someone be so rude. She shouldn’t be working as a waitress if she isn’t interested in hearing anything negative about the food. Also the rice portions are tiny compared to other Thai places in brighton. Think the waitress needs some lessons in providing a good service . Very rude. Would never go there again now."

"My wife and I had dinner at Kona prior to going to Victoria theatre. The food was delicious and was presented very artistically. The staff were very pleasant and seemed excited to be there. They gave great wine recommendations as well. Overall a wonderful start to the evening."

"Been here a good few times. This time it was really poor. Was sat 20 minutes before anyone asked us for drinks even then it was only as we grabbed someone walking past!! Then the curry came but without rice and breads! Staff were like oh why don’t you just eat. Then breads only came once we had finished the curry!! The girl with the snake tattoo is always amazing and she apologised as did the Italian team leader in a jumper. Other staff including the big chap who was a server is in the wrong job… I asked him for the bill, he gave me direct eye contact, heard me, then ignored me to talk to his colleague. Very poor."

"The restaurant by the river is a delightful spot to meet up with friends. The cocktails were excellent, and we shared two platters that we thoroughly enjoyed. The atmosphere was relaxed that evening, which fit our mood perfectly. The platters were delicious, and the service was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I couldn't find anything to criticize. I would definitely visit again."

"Cyrus has always been a good chef. But last night he joined the ranks of great Indian Chefs. Cafe Spice Namasté is now on a par with Chutney Mary in London and The Indian Accent in Delhi. You won’t get chicken tikka masala but you will enjoy genuine Indian food based on Cyrus deep and varied knowledge of Indian cuisine. Sometimes even with a modern twist. And sometimes with a talk about what you are eating. He is a fascinating speaker and willing to share his secrets with those of us who aspire to knocking off his top spot. Some hopes! Whenever I think I am there he pulls something new out of the hat. Great raw materials rule and Cyrus supports rare breeds and small producers. Try his ice cream made specially for Cafe Spice. The view of the old Royal Docks is great at sunset. Mrs Todiwalla, Pervin leads the front of house with warmth, a smile and skill and a team of long term staff who are super friendly and recognise old friends and welcome new ones. However busy they are they seem to have time and a smile for everyone. There is even a Tamil in the open kitchen and he stops work for me to practice my basic Tamil. And prices are remarkably reasonable so go quickly before Cyrus gets the Michelin star he deserves and prices are forced up."

"We had a good meal at Tower Tandori, everything about it was nicely done. The food was good and the waiting staff were courteous. The decor is also quite classy which I enjoyed. The only thing I would say is that the price means that overall you would expect the food and service to be as good as it was a meal with a couple of beers came to about each which felt a bit steep compared to other restaurants in Brockley or East London. So while this is a good restaurant, I'd say it only offers acceptable value"

"I’ve been here many times now and the food, drinks and service are always impeccable!! Highly recommend the french toast, cronuts, fried chicken sandwich and the oat flat white is one of the best I’ve had! Great interior and lovely relaxed atmosphere. I believe everything is made in house and it really shows that care has been taken in the making and preparation of the food! Always a good array of options to please everyone and a good amount of outdoor seating too! Cannot recommend enough if you are in the area."

"Sakonis offers Indian vegetarian food with some Indo Chinese options and is located on Ealing Road, now for quite some time a predominantly Gujarati area of London, with its menu largely reflecting its local customer base. The restaurant is relatively large and this was our second visit in as many months. Last month we were able to walk in and dine without a reservation but this time we had a reservation for the six of us, which was a wise decision because there were queues at times that we observed. While the buffet seemed extremely popular (especially for the soft ice cream! and our server encouraged us to avail of the buffet, not unsurprisingly, we opted for a la carte a decision that we did not regret. The Sakonis website is very modern and loads quickly, offering modern and well taken photographs of some of the dishes. The mogo chips were one of the starters that we ordered and were well made, a little crispy around the edges, soft in the middle, with a spicy sauce that was right at the cusp. We also ordered the palak paneer and the paneer butter masala, both of which were excellent. Of the two I would say that the latter was a little more flavoursome a surprise since I love spinach perhaps the palak paneer could have been a little more spicy. But the star of the show was surely the bathuras that came with those particular large plates (options also included naan and puri . In fact they were so popular with our group that we ordered an additional four and although they took rather long to arrive, when we compared our fresh, hot bathuras that lingered on the buffet table getting cold, we were sure that we had made the right decision. We also ordered a hakka noodles but that was rather insipid both in look and taste although we could see plenty of diners ordering the Indo Chinese dishes. The masala tea was just alright not nearly as good as Dishoom's for example, but the inclusion of a Parle G biscuit is a cute touch. Service was great even if the late order of bathuras was rather slow. Ria was particularly helpful. We plan to visit again in the summer."

"We booked the winter garden for dinner with friends having previously visited only for the Sunday brunch. This is a great alternative to the Sunday brunch as you still enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful building and the pianist but youâre not limited to the buffet style (mediocre) food. Previously the Sunday buffet had been a real hit for celebrations with friends as it is inclusive of free flowing champagne. However their Sunday buffet has definitely dropped its food standard so the fixed menu is a definite good alternative. We looked at the website before attending and the course set menu was not listed. Apparently itâs for course lunch or to include a Bellini cocktail. You can mix and match the menus but the value is not quite so good. Iâd definitely recommend a pre dinner drink in the mirror bar which was very welcoming, although a little pricey. for gin plus mixer on top plus service so in the range of"
